I am a big fan of your review style. You really cover the mechanics that makes or breaks the co-op experience. The fun editing and friendship makes it a joy to watch regardless if the review ends up positive or negative overall.
I hope Larian's development of BG3 offers as much fun.
Great work.
Thank you so much for the watch and the kind words! We can’t wait for BG3 now that we’ve experienced Divinity. Hopefully we have enough money to warrant a day one buy, but man is it looking good!
Great video, I've already played the game with my husband. Towards the end it got pretty hard xD. But it was something completely different. Was really fun.
Oh yeah the last couple levels we were getting our butt whooped cause Gabe was overeager with fighting higher leveled enemies haha Glad you liked it, this game made a big impression on us!
So you played on Splitscreen?
@@visitSHUTEX no everyone on his own pc ^^;
Me and my friend argued everyday playing this but it was really worth it because it was really fun and funny like he accidentally killed us both because we thought a chest was gonna have something nice but not a giant explosion
Hahaha we loved it! We had plenty of similar shenanigans!
Nice review ! I was struggling to get all the aspects of the coop mode on DOS2 from other reviews.
I've just checked your content and I love the concept. I'm glad to see that a lot of the games you already reviewed are on my coop wishlist, Divinity first.
+1 subscriber !
Thanks for checking us out! Glad to hear we helped you out on Divinity, it’s one of our favorites so we can’t recommend it enough. Thanks for sub, means a lot!
I believe this was the best Coop experience me and my buddy have ever had. It was an amazing adventure and I urge you to play take a pre existing Character for your first run. The Character story quests are amazing.
Now I just need friends 😕
Sometimes that’s the hardest part
:(
Get a girlfriend, play with her 🙂
I mean play the game with her 😄
That's easy. Join our community, never game alone again.
It's my first time seeing your videos, love reviews from a co-op angle. Forever Subbed.
Thanks so much for saying that, these kinds of comments always mean a ton to us! Happy to have ya on board :)
Both my friend and I agree and disagree with this statement. This game is amazing to play with friends that you are very good with communicating with. My friend and I pretty far into the second act and we are having a blast. It can be a very frustrating slog if your friends aren't willing to pay attention to what's going on and also not willing to put the time in because this game is long. Would also recommend not going with a full party if its your first time playing. It can feel like you are being dragged everywhere and you wont know whats going on. Unless people stay together and wait for people to listen to dialogue. Obviously this wont happen to everyone. Just something to consider before forming a group.
Couldn’t agree more, this one very much requires the right group to get the most out of it!!
I'm going to be getting this for me and my sister to play soon. Thanks for the video!
Awesome we’re glad to hear it! You guys won’t regret it!
I just discovered this game. Not a typical fantasy rpg player, but this is a damn good game
u dont know how many times i wished a channel like this exist, me and my friend are always looking for coop games to play lol
We felt the same way until we got to a point where we just had to make the darn thing ourselves! Thanks for watching!!
@@TheCoOpBros thanks for the content! Could u do a review on scrap mechanic?
We’re not familiar with that title but we’ll definitely take a look. We love taking recommendations and we try to follow through with reviewing them!
@@TheCoOpBros aight, I hope u can make a review, thanks!
I love the concept behind this channel. I'd say editing and presentation, along with your chemistry is great; if you really wanna take the next step, I highly suggest getting into better microphones to really elevate the quality of your content to a high level where everything else is. All the best!
Thank you thank you! We appreciate the support and feedback! Audio is a tricky thing and we’ve come a long way, but probably would need to spend a little extra to up the quality. Right now we’re rocking Yeti mics that are great for beginners. They get the job done but I feel ya, wish they were a little better!
Lohe's song after killing the Doctor is one of the most epic moments in all of D&D gaming for me.
Ooof you’re not wrong friend
Great video guys!! I'm 47 and remember the days of pen and paper with an imagination! Now I just need to convince my friends to play 🙄
Well hey if you can get a group you’ll really impress your friends with what you can do now!
OoooOOOOOoooo, I think I know what we're playing after Gloomhaven... or before Gloomhaven, depending on how much longer development takes.
Oof. Been meaning to play Gloomhaven for a while now, but yes, this will certainly scratch that itch!
The only thing holding me off on the game is the combat. Not sure I like turnbased like that. I'm ok with it being top/down but combat is not my taste. But the 4 player/rpg story seems really interesting to me. I really want to play a game like this where you and your friends make decisions together on the greater story of the game.
thx so much, im searching for some coop games to play with my GF and you helped me alot
That’s what we strive to do! Thanks for watching!
How did your playthrough go ?
You can tell you really enjoy this game with your friends. Good for you man.
Wow, thanks!
I loved playing DOS2 and I wanted to play with my friend. This was an amazing view of how it would go.
Are you able to do a video on Baldur’s gate 3 when the full game comes out? I’ve been trying to decide if we should multiplayer that game or this one.
Thanks for watching, we loved playing DOS2! We definitely plan on playing BG3 when the full release is out!!
Great video guys. Tons of great info and now I wanna play Divinity even more lol.
That’s awesome! I guess we’ve done our job here lol
I don't know much about DOS2, I'm only considering getting it to play with a friend. How does combat actually work? It's turn-based, but each player gets a turn in-between the enemy turns or something? Or do all players make their decisions simultaneously, and then it plays out as one-turn?
Thanks for checking us out first of all! We couldn’t recommend DOS2 enough. Combat is turn based in initiative order. Basically it’s dependent on a stat. So there can be times when the enemies have a higher initiate then your character has and thus go before you. There’s other factors though like getting the jump on enemies and such. But character, player or enemy gets a live turn that plays out. So while your friend goes, you’re free to scope out the battle field, plan your turn, look at your inventory, etc. But you cannot act out of turn.
@@TheCoOpBros Awesome, thanks for the response! I'll try and convince my friends to get it then!
@@H4V0K1407 It's a fantastic game. I've played through it 3 times already. Twice couch-coop with my s/o and once online with a party of friends - all games were significantly different, felt fresh and new. None of us were really into turn-based RPGs, but this just fits perfectly and is never boring. The gameplay is so tight and the controller controls are irreproachable. I haven't had this much fun with a game in the last 20 years! Hope you and your friends get to enjoy this gem as well, I can't recommend it enough!
Hey question for y'all! Does the gameplay slow down because you're playing in coop? Does one person get wrapped up in their items menu or whatever while someone is in combat? Curious if coop slows the game down because you need coordination/help your party in combat etc.
Also do you end up missing out on a lot of story/gameplay when you all split up and go in different directions? Or are you all sticking together for the most part?
Hey there, thanks for watching! I'd actually say the contrary, I think co-op has sped things up for us. Since we all knew what builds we were generally going for, we never spent too much time in the menus. Towns have plenty of shopkeepers too, so if we needed to sell stuff, we'd pretty much do it all at the same time. In terms of combat, we were all use to RPG systems so it never felt like someone was dragging behind. Generally we stuck together, we never really split up unless we were in a town. But we did every major quest together.
I think co-op speeds things up in a lot of ways. In towns we would all explore separately and find quests that we'd later tackle together. Solving puzzles becomes easier with 3 heads rather then 1. And in general, it's nice to have other people control and manage two other characters. Even managing my own and our extra character was a lot sometimes haha Not to say single player is bad though, our friend Jake had his own single player campaign running too.
@@TheCoOpBros Thanks for the reply!
@@TheCoOpBros so just following up on this. Have you tried local coop with this? I just started with my partner and we were really struggling because we found it difficult to go off in our own directions since voice acting overrode and overlapped itself. This made it hard for her to hear what was going on. Any tips on how to work around this?
Unfortunately I don’t know if there is a work around for it. I would say the game is more geared towards you all traveling together and engaging with the story together opposed to apart. Doesn’t mean you can’t roam or anything. But for the most we tried to stick together and if someone found a story thread we’d typically drop everything to go see what it was about.
@@TheCoOpBros ah for sure. That makes sense to me. I suppose the frustration stems from not being able to go and do the things you need to in town, to then come back to each other and continue together. Or the fact that a relationship can only be built between an NPC follower and the person who recruited them. Probably minor things I guess.
Maybe we just need to figure out these things by continuing to play it.
Thanks for your response ^_^
Yo thanks so much for the encoragement and tips bro !!
thanks for pushing me over the fence I've been sitting on. Buying tonight
Heck yeah! Happy we made a convincing argument. No lie, we still talk about how fun this game was to play!
I'm gonna sub just because I'm always open to coop games to play w my buddy. We both have Game Pass
Heck yeah!! Thanks for the support. Co-op + GamePass 🤝
I played the first DOS game when it released and then later (like 2 years ago) I tried to play it in coop with another person and it was a disaster, I don't remember the specifics but it was something to do with a player talking and the other not knowing what they were saying, no subs, no nothing so in the end it was like one player plays the story, the other player is there just to help fighting though I don't remember if it was exactly like that but it suck for sure. DOS 2, in the other hand, was beautiful in coop, they really improved that part of the game, really, was very fun, though maybe it was because this time I wait till they finished patching the game (I played the game completely a year ago) but I don't think I will replay it again solo, at least not for now.
Yeah it’s soooo much fun in co-op, we’re hopping that Boulders Gate 3 further improves on the co-op experience too
you guys are not popular enough, im subscribing!
Thank you, we get that all the time and it means a lot!
I really wanted to play this on co op, but i never could find a match that didn’t kick me immediately and I don’t have friends that play it
Sorry to hear that! This is definitely a game you need consistent friends to play with and I think people might prefer to play this with people they know. But we’d suggest posting on Reddit that you’re looking for a group to play with. Might be a better way to find some eager people to co-op with!
Hi, thanks for the great content. You mentioned you really enjoyed For the King, so did I. Do you know of any other similar games to it, I cant seem to find any?
FTK is an incredibly unique experience. Divinity Original Sin 2 was similar but lacks the rogue-like elements of FTK. But it’s a great one! Robust story and great co-op elements.
@@TheCoOpBros Yes agreed, I am looking forward to trying this game shortly. Do you know of any others that might be like these two?
Wasteland 3 might be up your alley. It's closer to Divinity 2, but has a sci-fi twist to it. If you're looking for something that's more akin to the tabletop experience, we enjoyed Wargroove. It's not an RPG but it has a fun cartoony style and the turn based strategy was great, there's a free co-op update too. We've heard Children Of Morta is another similar top down rpg game, also has co-op. Lastly, there's Darkest Dungeon, lacks co-op but has card game/tabletop feel to it. Hope one of these works for ya!
Hey, sorry for the dumb question, but how do you add the friend? Do you need to be friends on steam first?
We were playing on consoles so it’s a bit different maybe but yes you have to be friends on Steam prior.
Im currently playing original sin 1, its awesome. Once i finish it. Ill be playing 2. Im playing with my wife
Awesome video as always, centainly i'll give divinity a try, as a recomendation i'm playing Children of Morta with my wife and it's a great coop game
Thanks for watching! We couldn't recommend this enough haha Children Of Morta looks right up our alley, we'll definitely add that to the list, thanks!
Can You recommend a co-op action game that I can play wit my Gfriend? I have PS4 qnd herPS5
When you guys review games, about how much do you complete the game before a review?
90% of the time, we complete the whole game. Especially if it’s an RPG or a game where story is a big factor.
@@TheCoOpBros okay sweet thanks
The only issue is that if you arent the host and wanted to play the character you put alot of time in on by yourself you cant without the host you gotta start another whole game that kinda sucks cause my brother doesnt play alot and hes the host and i wanna play my main character and cant unless hes home and invites me. It should let you join with your own character and replace one of the 4 of the other persons or atleast have the option to.
Yeah we get that. That’s why we mention that having the host be the person whose always down to play is helpful. But having a more flexible system like you suggested would be great. Maybe they’ll implement something like that with Baulders Gate 3
Is this like the first one where couch co-op can play on one screen not the split if close together?
Yes exactly!
I gifted a copy to my friend so I'm hoping to start a game soon! I had a question though - was Fane controlled by one of your or a computer?
By one of us! You can switch who controls the extra NPCs you might have, but one person having control permanently makes for a better experience. It really allows them to get to know how the character works in combat.
Can you play online with just 2 of you? or do all the player slots have to be filled?
You can do online with just two people! You’ll just have to split the characters of the party
@@TheCoOpBros ah perfect thankyou! 😁
Thanks for this video. Can u please suggest me more game which I can play with my friend on same console.👍
We’d love to! What’s your platform of choice and what kind of games in general? RPGs like Divinity?
@@TheCoOpBros playstation 4 ... And rpg games ! Thanks
Playing on the same console is unfortunately pretty scarce in this genre but we’d recommend Diablo III, The Sword Of Ditto, Salt & Sanctuary, The Trine series, and Dragon’s Crown!
Hopefully one of those piques your interested, have fun!
So my best friend and his brother just bought this game and don’t seem to be able to host a game for each other to join! Sucks too Cause it looks amazing. Did any of you guys have any issues that you were able to overcome regarding hosting or joining?
We never had an issue ourselves but we had another comment mention something similar. We’ve tried our own research into the problem but came up with nothing! But I’ve seen Larian answer people on their discussion boards so maybe try there?
What killed the online coop for me is that you can't use your own characters from your own game, you have to control a character from the other person that you're joining, I understand the need for balance but that was so lame
I can see what you’re saying. If you start a campaign prior to deciding to play co-op then you wouldn’t be able to transfer them. But at least the game is varied enough in its story for it to never feel like a massive rehash if you’re playing it a second time!
Instant favorite channel
Thank you so much! That means a lot to us!
How bad is the performance doing split-screen on a PS4 Slim?
We don’t think the performance is bad at all. We never really ran into any issues when we played split screen!
I am confused how co op is even supposed to work. My wife and I started playing, and when she recruited the red prince I wasnt able to talk to him to get the unique story between our characters
It's like she recruited him and is the only person who can talk to him. This is on switch, no mods
What was that game on screen for like a second at the start of the video??
It’s called For The King! We actually did a review on it for the channel if you’re curious.
If I start a dialog with an NPC, can my friend see the lines and options? And if I play with only one friend, who controls the other 2 characters ?
Yes your friends can either walk around or opt in to see the cutscene and dialogue play out. But only one person can answer. If you only play with one friend, it’s kinda up to you. One person can control one while the other controls two, it’s open to what you decide as a team
love playing this game with my cousin, always a great time
Hey quick ? Can a xbox person play with their friend who has steam we want to play together but afraid to get the game because I am on xbox and he's on PC and he uses steam please if you know if we can play together let me know and thank you love the video.
Divinity doesn’t support cross play unfortunately. You both have to be on the same platform to play together.
is this game using one pc or two pc? for multiplayer.
All of the above or both!
that was the perfect video that I searched ! thx
Glad it helped!!
Greetings from a artist in Germany bro !:)
Great video and review! Looking forward to watching more
Thank you so much, it means a lot when people go out of their way to encourage us!!
😇 thank you for the video, i totally forgot that this game supports local couch coop splitscreen, very similar to the LEGO franchise video games
So freaking psyched for bg3
I really wish the characters werent locked to one campaign. sucks if you wanna do something while your friends arent available so you just make a new character and play your own campaign ands then end up losing most interest in your other character
Yah we feel that :/ wish we would be able to play on the same campaign without the host for sure.
What is the point for creating enemyes? the game is hard enough if u fight vs your buddys and steal from them no one will finish the game. + what if i wanned to talk to some npc but some other dud just killd him?
Yeah that could definitely happen. For us, we were all committed to finishing the story. And yeah sometimes we goofed around, I think that’s okay! It all depends on the group you have with you
Hello, I'm gonna play this game with my friend soon, and I was wondering how you do voice chat? without having to go deaf in your game, cuz youre using the headphones on a phone or pc?
Hey thanks for checking us out!! We were playing on PS4 and using PS4s Chat Party + mics with it. We never really had an issue balancing the audio/our voices. We know PS4s chat party balances everything well if not using Discord can be a good alternative!
I wish my friends would be into this kind of game. Looks fun.
Hello, me and my friend just got the game on the ps4, however we can’t seem to figure out how to make online coop mode work...
Thanks for watching! Happy y’all got the game. What seems to be the issue?
I’ll give you the run down, in case that fixes your issue! To play online, we recommend you you’re in a chat party and starting the game together. The catch is, one player has to be the one who starts a new campaign/story, sets the difficulty and then they’ll come upon a party screen where they can send an invite to anyone they want to play this with. That’s where your other friend comes in. From then on, you can make your own characters simultaneously in the character creation screen and you’ll start the game together right from the get go.
The Co-Op Bros thanks for the help man. Unfortunately we still can’t play online coop. We can join other people’s lobby, and other people can join our lobbies. but not when one of us invites the other. I’ve emailed Larian but all their tips didn’t work either. It’s really a bummer, good thing solo campaign is still great
Shoot, sorry to hear that! What platform are you playing on?
@@TheCoOpBros ps4 :)
Whats the game they showed at the beginning?
For The King! We did a review on that game as well. It’s like a tabletop isometric rpg
Is it playble coop on same screen /pc?
Yes it is!
Is it only online or also couch coop?
It supports both online and couch co-op. You can even play with two friends split screen + two friends online
So if I have no friends can I still have a character and just join other peoples online games ?
Yes I believe that would work! We didn’t really play with randoms so can’t say 100% but I wouldn’t see why not
Yeah I’m trying to find out before I buy the game. Just wanted to know if you can find servers and jump in and join other games
@@TheCoOpBros I’m sooo into Demeo VR and I’m looking for something similar that’s on my iPad
@@TheCoOpBros It said on the App Store that it would work with my iPad so I bought it and when it started to load it said my iPad generation 5 is not compatible?
Same here! Have you been able to find random folks online to play with?
Thanks for the vid!
Our pleasure, thanks for watching!
Is it like Diablo soul reaper ? No split screen buddy can join and we just go
Not totally sure what you’re asking here, but the game does have split screen for multiplayer unless you play on the switch!
is this local co-op? or only online co-op?
It has both!
You should co-op Legend if Mana
Is this game only couch coop?? Or can we play online coop???
You can do both!
@@TheCoOpBros AMAZING news!!! Downloading it now!!! Thanks for the quick response!!
Is it possible to play this game in splitscreen mode on the switch?
Unfortunately we’re pretty sure for Switch the split screen mode is not available due to hardware specs :/
@@TheCoOpBros Thank you for your fast response!
I don't really have friends that would be into this game, can anyone verify how easy it is to find strangers online to join a game with?
Alguem sabe se posso jogar com meu namorado split screen + um amigo online ? / Anyone knows if I can play with my bf split screen + 1 friend online ? 3 players
Si se puede! / Yes you can!
just bought it! onsale on ps4 rn
That’s awesome, you’re honestly getting so much value for it on sale that’s wild hahah Enjoy!
only host gets achievements?
No everyone in your party gets achievements!
:)
No local coop on Switch? WTF
Sweet, this is awesome.
Is it similar to Diablo 3?
I’d say probably not. Combat is turn based so that’s going to be a big difference and it’s not a looter in any way. Both are top down games but that’s about where the similarities end!
Coment for the engagement
That’s what’s up
