It’s amazing how well Jay looks 4 weeks after this car tried to take him to the grave! And he’s the kind of guy who, after all that, would probably even restore it rather than sell it on to avoid looking at it. As he says, you never own these cars. You are mere caretakers.
today was an historic day for me as i got to see my friends 1905 white steam car engine run on compressed air. he just finished rebuilding it and it is beautiful. he will be driving this car along with jay leno at pebble beach in august. i am honored to have seen this magnificent engine run for the first time in many years.
I wonder what could be done with steam with todays technology ? I know it won't replace combustion engined and Hybrid powered cars . But it might be cool as a hobby . Or endurance racing .
I really think these steam cars are fascinating! I mean think about it you can drive anywere on water! and it wouldnt cost u a dime water is "basically" free!
For what reason? Most people don't want to wait 1 minute for their car to start and go. But wait 30 minutes? No one would do that. Steam technology is obsolete.
Wishing Jay a speedy recovery. It's wild how many burn jokes are in this clip.
Get Well soon Jay. Its a beautiful car.
*Jay: "Yeah, when you're not driving around with crybabies... it's actually a pretty nice ride." lol!*
It is so cool to see that old car on the road and mingling with modern traffic.

i can't believe they would say that engine doesnt look nice, it looks fucking awesome!

superheated steam is invisible Ive been told, in the Navy guys would walk with a broom in front of them in case there was a leak they couldnt see.
Yes, it is usually not visible.

Steam is always invisible, when it condenses back into tiny waterdrops you get the white clouds

at the very least, they should try to explore its use to capture excess IC engine heat
@@oteliogarcia1562 BMW made a steam engine to use the exhaust heat in the 2000s, almost made it to production
Love it. Ya gotta plan two weeks in advance to go to the drug store.

S.U.V. = Steam Utility Vehicle.
12 cylinder is basically required only then it can fly
10:02 why so many vws?

You still need fuel to heat the steam, though.
@@michaelmartin9022 this is true but not as much as a combustion engine uses.
@@racer67 - Most places I know have a monthly water bill.
If you'd really like free, just walk.
@@HiTechOilCo Food cost money tho, so walking isn't free either if you think about it..
hey anybody know the song at 9:51 ?
Snow man hood ornament?
does it pollute less?
No. It still has to burn something to create the steam.
Jay NEEDS eye protection!
5 yrs later it happens...
@@OTOWN2STOCKTOWN Unfortunately. He needs a couple of other things, too, like a cardiac stress test and a colonoscopy, if those aren't up to date.
modern technology can bring modern steam cars..

@@HiTechOilCo they could make it so that it starts with a key, he could be refering to that
