I remember Warlords and Breakout for the 2600. Playing those with paddles was awesome! When you have the right controller it totally changes the way the game is played and makes for a much better experience.

Controls are everything in games like that so you can enjoy them the way they where supposed to be played.

Thanks! I really wanted to see arkanoid on legends with spinner. Would of been cool to see marble madness with trackball. Part 2 maybe 🤔 hint hint lol

Didn't the atari 2600 controller have a spinner controller if I remember? I still have my atari 2600 from 9th birthday... 41 years ago lol.
River raid, moon patrol and defender were my favs

Yes Atari 2600 had paddle controllers. Games like Warlords and Kaboom! used paddles!

@@timstinyarcade170 paddle is different from spinner. A paddle is a resistor that have absolute positions (0-360°), a spinner is an optical controller that can rotate forever. Warlord and Kaboom! use paddles so you are simulating them with spinner, not the same experience. Atari 2600 had also driving controllers as an option, that are actually spinners rotating forever and they were used with few games like Indy 500.

Hi Tim, do you by any chance know if the ALU trackball is 2 1/4 or 3in diameter?

You can add games and play through CoinopsX. I got a usb stick off eBay that had 7000 games on it and I love it!

You're correct the spinner is vastly better than the 1uparcade.The 1up didn't have a spinner, it had a knob that sucked. However, spinner layout on the Legends Ultimate Arcade is extremely bad making Tempest just as unplayable. Yeah, its a better spinner for basic levels of Tempest, but get beyond first few levels, the game become impossible to play because the spinner needs to be on the right, not jammed in with the buttons on the left. I am owner of the original Atari Tempest Arcade game and 1up 12-1. Don't Legends Ultimate Arcade if Tempest is one of the games you want to play.

Someone said you can switch P1 spinner from L to R. Does anyone know if this is true and if so, how to do it?
