This is great. I have a velvet buck I shot a few years ago that I cut the antlers off to cure the velvet while I macerated the skull I haven’t been able to reattach them a way I’m happy with. Can’t wait to see the videos on this
@@usskullhunterlol I comment while I'm watching it 🤣😂 I'm just a huge fan of your work and I've done many skulls with your ideas. I'm super excited whenever I get to see more new ways of doing things bc I get to present my customers with more new ideas as well.
Love it. I have a deer skull that has an antler thats half broken. It's snapped, but not fully disconnected. Trying to push it together and glue it back but it's real tough, was thinking of using a hose clamp. Whats a good glue to use to hold bone to itself?
Ive been wanting to switch out the racks on a $500 full shoulder mount with one from a more recent 140 class buck, presently a skull cap mount.....but it seemed like too much trouble...Strong magnets?? F#@ing Brilliant!! Going to start on it tomorrow..good video!.
Just got a call from a client asking to detach their elk antlers from their euro'd skull that fell and broke and reattach to a replica skull. My question is, do you ever need to sand the replica skull on the pedicle to change the angle so it looks more natural when the antlers are attached to their new host?...
Yes. It helps if you have a belt sander to keep the whole surface flat. But yeah if you need to adjust the angle of the antlers you will either sand down the base of the antler if there is enough material or the pedicle.

CA glue with a thin viscosity is best. Not sure of the break location but maybe zip ties would help in addition to the clamps??

Could you list the part# of which magnet you used?
Sure thing. The magnet in the skull was RX033CS-P-N52 and the one attached to the antler RX038DCB-N52. Thanks for watching!
