I had a pair of these for 7 years, wore them every winter for those especially slushy winter runs. I lent them to my son for 1 day and he jumped in puddles and ruined them. No amount of pinesol could relieve them from the mold. They were as tough as my Danners are with water and snow. I have to say, I was surprised to see them here 😂 but the colours! Beautiful.
I'm big into trail and ultra running and wear a lot of Salomons. This is kind of hilarious seeing a review of Salomon trail shoes coming from the fashion world.
I wear Selvedge denim easily with every shoe I own . Rule for me is one big cuff for classic shoes 2 cuffs for sneakers 3 /4 small cuffs for boots . You’re welcome
Great informative video once again they look cool. Someone gave me a pair of black addidas with red trim water proof trail runners recently and they aren't bad at all. Thanks for all your hard work on the channel I have learn't so much about denim and I always look forward to the next video cheers mate.
First off, great that Heritage fashion guys are venturing over to new areas because sometimes it feels like we all just wear a uniform. Here in NYC I wear my selvedge with sneakers because we walk a lot and someone once said that in NYC, our footwear is like our car, and sneaker are sport cars.
just tips for heritage wear people to who dont want to have the uniform but still want quality clothing: go vintage, military surplus or get into leathercraft and make your own jewelry/belts.
Nice, I've been wearing sneakers for years and only just got into selvedge! I think classic Onitsuka Tigers would be a great combination with some nice denim
I like footwear, and I can’t think of a good reason to cabin myself into boots, dress shoes, or sneakers. If a shoe is well made and cool looking, I will try it out.
@@CeeAreDee It means my IG follower numbers are pretty low (also, nobody will accuse me of being a great photographer), but that’s ok with me because I do it all for myself anyway. I get the tribalism, and I do think people should wear what they are most comfortable with. I came to clothing through (pre-) hashtag-menswear, so I started with dress shoes, but I found them limiting in that I would always have to wear suits or trousers. I just don’t roll that way,so I found sneakers and then boots. At my now relatively advanced age, I just put relevant outfits together based on the propriety of the setting and my mood. If you like Salomons, wear ‘em! If you only want to wear boots or monks, that’s cool, too!
I love my selvedge. But I'm not a boot guy, so I'm likewise obsessed with sneakers and there are quite a few retros from the archives of brands like Saucony, asics, diadora or puma, that go very well with your Canadian tuxedo. 70s to 90s runners, a couple of classic court sneakers... There are many options. And much to my wife's disappointment I got even more of them than jeans 👖 😔
Kudos on this one. If you are looking to blend more heritage with outdoor tech clothing I'd consider looking into Ibex merino wool as well. I also have to say thanks for your recommendation with Benzak. I really like everything I've bought from them.
As long as the cut of the jeans work i think you can wear selvedge with trail shoes, basketball shoes, tennis shoes or even dad shoes. I know it's not a far back but we wore Air Force 1, Jordan 1, shell toes, cons with selvedge in the 80s.
They are 1st Pattern. Kinda hard to get. And those ones were from a few years back. I wear Salomons and Hokas only with Techwear like Stone Island or The Mountain Studio… for bad weather conditions( as a dogowner 🦮 I’ve to go out several times per day) Meindl and Lowa are the best.. with real denim I prefer real boots like Sandmann… and the good old Palladiums… great heritage of the „Legion etrangere“🇫🇷🪖 Greetings from Heidelberg
@@CeeAreDee Hey, the „Northstar“ in oxblood is a unique combination of army and dressboot. A little bit flamboyant - not the Iron Ranger you see everywhere. Great look with denim, Tellason fatique pants or tweed/wool.. Same pricepoint as RedWings, the sole is quite stiff but very comfy. Goodyear/stormvelt.. I’m going to buy the „Quartermaster“ very soon.. I really appreciate your content…

I always wear my jeans with whatever I want, just cos it’s selvage doesn’t mean I can’t wear it with sneakers. It works well :)
I totally agree. I’m deprogrammed 😂

It’s actually not a bad list of guidelines

Hey buddy. Appreciate the kind words. And I’m delighted I’ve helped out out a bit here and there.

Haha. I like that!
But doesn’t that bring with it that particular aesthetic?

Haha. I’m trying to keep out of the weeds on this one. I don’t need another obsession that takes up shelf space.
I love selvedge denim but i hate that i feel like i have to wear boots with my denim 😅
Yeah. I’m coming from that 2010 wave where this whole thing became a uniform. I’m super happy to see things opening up.

I wear jeans with boots and sneakers.... Never with dress shoes.... The solomon is good with dry jeans... Old school vibes...
Amen to that.
They are good but very slippery

Gotta get you some white cement 3s
Between Xt-6 and Xt-6 Expanse, do you wear them at the same size?

I’m seeing more and more of the Sandman boots out there. Any good ?

Ah nice. So you know the issue.

I was all "Yay!! Another Cee Are Dee video!". Then suddenly "oh... Eww". Enjoyed the fun bit of back and forth at the beginning though. :)
what watch are you wearing?
That’s a Tudor date day from the 80s i think.
Curious what the brand is on that olive green button up?
He mentioned that it is from Bezak Denim:)
It was a quick mention and easy to miss.

Salomons are a LIFE HACK...
Hahaha. Very well put.
Agree caps have to go.
this sneakers so sexy as f*** and got nice colorway
I just cannot get into these shoes. I’m sorry but they are so ugly to me. If I’m not wearing boots I have a white pair of sneakers on.
Different strokes for different folks.
