I am amazed everytime I watch an Interview with him about how different his voice is from Eli Gold on the "Good Wife." Not only does he have a fantastic Accent in real life but his voice his so much softer and a Little quieter where as Eli Gold is almost barking half of the time. It just goes to Show what a fantastic actor he is. Oh, what I wouldn't give for Eli Gold to be scottish just so I could hear is Accent a Little longer!
I love Alan Cumming...Like most gay Manhattanites who've lived here awhile and go out, I've met him a few times over the years. He was in the bar Eastern Bloc in the East Village (which he now co-owns, I've heard), where I was watching the returns on Election night 2016. Like everyone else in the civilized world, I was really close to freaking out- almost totally losing it, my anxiety was so bad-as the results were coming in that when I saw him I literally barged in on his conversation with 2 guys and hugged him and put my head on his shoulder. Then he came and sat down next to me and we talked politics for a little while. He was very sweet to indulge me in an instance where some celebrities would have called security. This, and my five (or...six?) gin & tonics helped to tide me over the initial shock. (Which reminds me- he slipped behind the bar and was making drinks for awhile, and among his many other talents, he's the best bartender EVER. I asked him for a gin & tonic and he gave me a gin, with more gin, some extra gin, a splash of gin, and finally, gin, with just enough tonic to make it glow in the dark, leaving me with a flammable and luminescent drink- in a pint glass- with two or three ice cubes and a lime wedge clinking around on top.)
Incidentally I was AT the Carlyle hotel one night and heard a man talking to the maitre d about the cover of the album saying he'd seen it and was appalled and they they should have it removed from the shelves. Some people have way too much time on their hands...
