It’s definitely not a ‘far away’ sound. But it is exactly how it sounded when I grew up next to the tracks. It’s still therapeutic and helps me sleep. I love it.
😂 Not really. I live near tracks, and it isn't that bad. I wouldn't want to live right next to the tracks. Distance helps. You'd be surprised, though, distant train ambiance is one of my more popular categories.
I grew up very close to the train track that ran through the center of town. It scared me the first night in the house... I awakened to the whistle and thought the kingdom had come... I was just starting third grade. In only a few days, I became accustomed to it, and it was somehow comforting. It never awakened me and I never suffered from insomnia as I had done during the first 7 years of my life. If I happened to hear it in the night, it put me back to sleep, and I had a wonderful dream life throughout my time there. My parents moved when I was in college, and though it's the same town, the train is far away. I never slept in the new house very well. The past year has been difficult and this video (audio) has given me such enjoyment and allowed peaceful sleep. I think like I did during my childhood years: as long as that train is running, everything is alright. Go back to sleep.💚🤠Many thanks from Texas. This track is the best; I tried them all. This sounds like my train. Excellent work!! So happy to feel At Home.
Thank you so much for sharing that. I love hearing stories like that. I try to bake that into as many videos as I can, that feeling of nostalgia, the sights and sounds of our youth that comfort us or simply sounds we've grown used to. Many of the videos I make are made with that in mind. And it isn't just pleasing sounds as well, because many unpleasing sounds become pleasing to some once we've grown used to them. For example, I made a couple of videos that feature the sound of aircraft carrier ambiance for those men and women that lived their lives onboard those vessels, which can be loud. I imagine it's difficult getting used to those sounds and then trying to sleep without them. That's why one of my goals with this channel is to get a video made of just about every single sound or combination of sounds I can think of because while many might not be able to sleep to it, that video might just be the one sound that helps someone get a great night's sleep. Thanks for sharing, commenting and listening, greatly appreciated.
@@BlackAtomProductions It's a wonderful endeavor and mission you have Incorporated into your life. In the end, nothing else is possible without sleep. It's essential and so elusive. I love this train because you're not on it. It's in the distance, and that's how most of us experience trains. Your story reminds me of Bryan Texas with the train tracks literally going through the middle of town with front and back yards right along the train track.
@@tamuman93 This was Conroe, a few miles down the road. Right through town, and I lived across the street from it. Never noticed it after awhile. Really startled overnight guests.
I’ve always wanted to live near train tracks because I find passing trains and distant trains very relaxing, if I close my eyes it’s almost like I do. Love it.
Trust me hearing this sound at 3- 7 am is a nightmare I live a block from train tracks I legit had to get noise canceling headphones just to sleep good 💀
Similar experience for me as well. Growing up in Reading, Pennsylvania, I lived within a 1/4 of a black from a bridge which spanned railroad tracks. In fact, my Grandfather worked for the Reading Railroad. Every so many days, an old steam engine would roll by and see me an my friends on the bridge waving, it would always elicit a few blasts of the whistle as it steamed its way down the track. I think I feel in love with trains as a result of that experience. To this day, it still puts me to sleep at night. Thanks for sharing!
I miss this at night now........ Nothing else like trains at night. Well, maybe the high country, or the "still" desert ambiance at night in the winter time when hunting!!
The train ambiance videos are quite popular. I get quite a few requests for them. I listen to them on occasion, but I live near a set of tracks, so I get to hear this fairly regularly each night. Glad you like it, and thanks for listening!
My grandfather was an engineer for B&O. Growing up hearing those trains reminded me of him and was an I stant relaxation. I hear trains and I'm out. This is one of the best. PEACE ✌
Thank you so much. I really appreciate the comment and support. Been at if for over a year now, and I think I'm improving. It's thanks to people like you.
Well, there are quite a few various train themed videos on this channel, and if there's anything specific you'd like, just let me know and I'll see what I can do. I'm glad you like it, enjoy!
I have train tracks 100 feet behind my house. I love the sounds of the train, but recently the trains have begun transporting trash to landfills. Sometimes the trains park behind my house loaded with foul smelling garbage, so it’s like I live by a dump now.
Sorry to hear that. That turn of events definitely won't make the sound of distant trains nostalgic, let's hope that doesn't last long. I lived near a landfill for a couple of summers and on hot days when the wind blew just right it was terrible.
My friend wants me to ask you if you have riding in an 18-wheeler. He used to be a trucker. I looked and you have so many creative sounds I can't wait to try! But I didn't see any trucks.
Wow, I have over 450 videos up, and I can't believe I missed that one 😂 but you're right, I don't think I have any big rig ambiance videos done yet. I'll have to see what I can do about that. Tell you're friend, I'll see what I can get made and If I can, I'll try and have it posted as soon as possible. Thanks for the suggestion, always looking for fresh new ideas.
I found some audio in the audio library I can use to make something right away, it isn't the best audio though. Just to get something up in the meantime. I have a cousin who used to drive, and I'm sure he still has some friends that do. Perhaps I can have him get one of them to make a recording for me.
Thank you so much. I also have a bunch of other trains themed videos that can be found here ua-cam.com/video/cKHYj7VNPOA/v-deo.html&ab_channel=BlackAtomProductions, enjoy 😁
You're one of the lucky ones. I live near some tracks now as well and the train goes through a couple of times a day at just the right distance and it sounds nice.
I mean, it's sort of distant, lol. This was a requested video and I wanted to make sure the audio captured both the horn of the train as well as the track sounds as the train passes over the tracks. I could do a more distant version if you like, just let me know in the comments, and thanks for listening!
@@BlackAtomProductions Yes please i heard a distant train horn in one of raffytaffy videos, it was only for a few seconds and very far but its very soothing , id post it as an example but i forgot which video
Totally agree looking for that distance, a faraway train in the dead of the night, miles of freight less horns more faraway track chatter and distant engine, as I remember as a child laying awake in my bed at three in the morning with the summer breez and the only sound was the train miles away and perhaps the crickets depending on the time of year!
Sorry to hear that. We have over 500 other ambiances to choose from such as the sound of rain, wind, night ambiance, day ambiance, ocean waves, lake waves, various birds, various insects, purring, snoring, fans, the list goes on, and we have many videos featuring relaxing ambient music.
This one was a special request from someone that wanted a distant train with good track sound and continuous. I can do a quieter version If you like. I usually create my videos with the audio baseline set to UA-cam and then people can adjust the audio to their liking on which ever device they end up using, computer, tv, laptop, etc. Thanks for listening.

People with houses next to train tracks must be furious when they find out people actually choose to listen to this

My experience was nearly the same. Steam locos and whistles. Not the ear shattering air horns.

I live near tracks and the train rolls through most nights between midnight and 2am, it is a nice sound.
Trust me hearing this sound at 3- 7 am is a nightmare I live a block from train tracks I legit had to get noise canceling headphones just to sleep good 💀
My great- grandfather was a brake man. I love the sound of trains very relaxing.
That's awesome. Many people seem to love the sound of trains, as these videos perform really well.

I feel sorry for people that don't have this sound where they live bc it's so relaxing! CSX is our train & I can't get enough of it!
I understand, because I get to hear this sound just about each night where I live now. It's a great sound.
i lived near a train track and everytime i wake up early in the morning i here it and somehow it sounds exactly like this video only
It's a great sound. I live near tracks and get to heart his sound often, mostly at night.
Perfection, my friend.
Glad you think so!
My new favorite to sleep by, love it!.
Glad you like it!
Probably the best train sounds video I’ve ever heard. Thank you so much!

Super train sounds. 🖤

Low this very relaxing train . I like the way you did your start.
Thank you very much! I try to start all my videos the same way. Sort of a way to brand my channel through consistency.

Amazing sound nice video loved it 😍
Thanks for sharing
Thank you so much 🤗
Thank you! This is awesome
You're very welcome! Enjoy 😀
It sounds like BNSF in Blytheville (known to my hometown)
Could be. I just go by ear. I find some nice audio, mix it all together and see what I get 😂
I put this on in the background while I'm at work so if I get caught not working, I can state factually that I am watching a training video.
Brilliant 😂 Thanks for listening 😀
"Never-Ending Distant Train"
Ten hours later and I've been lied to.
Just have to hit that repeat button 😂

Sounds like the coal trains coming through Mount Vernon Washington. At the height of it was 20 a day mile and a half long each
Wow! I'd hate to have to sit and wait in my car for those trains to pass on a consistent basis 😂
It like living in the Housing Projects again as Kid, jus missing the Police Copter above🥲🤣
Thanks for listening!

Still TOO LOUD. DISTANT MEANS FAR AWAY. NOT GOING THRU MY BEDROOM. I GUESS I WILL HAVE TO RECORD "FAR AWAY" DISTANT TRAIN SOUNDS MYSELF.
