It's funny i've owned 2 AMGs , and 2 maximas... all taking premium gas. People bitch about gas when the difference between the low-grade regular and premium may be $3-6 on a fill-up or less.
And please don't get premium in a car that takes regular because it won't do anything.

I was never really smitten with or interested in the big german luxury sedans but this thing is nothing short of amazing. They think of so many little things that are just awesome but you'd never even notice if they weren't there, and the interior...my god what a car.

It's a $6400 option in the cars that don't have the system as standard. The 3D Surround Sound is an additional $1600 on top of the base Burmeister price.

omg that start-up though. You guys really need to appreciate the unique amg engines. They are one of the best engines out there. The world doesnt need hatred. Yes it does. The button is removable and the dealer doesn't put it in until the car is sold so nobody steals the button.

I knew when you posted this on Facebook before uploading it that it would be a record breaker in terms of length of the review. Every aspect of this car is absolutely incredible, but there's one thing I just can't get over, and that's the $230,000 price tag. Holy Crap man!

A logical company would have discontinued that old out of times 6.0 V12 twin turbo by this point; when the W222 arrived I wasn't expecting another S65 AMG to arrive.
But I forget this is AMG, and those madmen are anything but logical. Seeing the results of the new S65, I rather happy they didn't do the logical conclusion.

@@davidmeskhi8446 given that I wrote this 5 years ago before the EU started clamping down on emission harder than a industrial grade press, I say that this was pretty decent how AMG was able to hold this V12 out.

Your extensive knowledge of the cars you review never ceases to amaze me, and however strange it may sound, your videos inspire me to work harder every day because I know that if I work hard enough, then maybe one day I can afford that Mercedes S-Class or that Lamborghini Aventador. LeoThe Greatxx I suppose doctors and stuff get a new car every year. At least I know my doctor does... But if I'm going to be spending 50k for a vehicle it ought to last me at least 300k miles with regular maintenance whether I make lots of money or not I'd want it to last
thats why there is warranty and also people (the smarter ones that wouldn't spend money on a depreciating vehicle) lease these high priced car.. in 2 years, it will lose 100k in value.. the only cars worth buying are the limited editions and high spec types. i fucking love the S65 AMG and will, one day, get my self one but never pay full, maybe finance or lease.. i hate how it depreciates ..

@Yujiro hanma i had an W222 s550 2014 and it made it to 110k with no technical problems. my friend had a 2004 W220 S65 and it had many problems, but was built like a tank, and was very powerful.
This car is a mobile hotel. Amazing.
Really hope Mercedes makes a premium electric sedan in the next few years. I really think electric drivetrains are the future, and it just seems like a no brainer to pair the posh interior luxury of the S class with a smooth whisper quiet electric motor.
Tesla makes great cars, but they really can't match Mercedes when it comes to interior luxury. It would be great to see Mercedes apply their expertise at interior design to an electric car.
I cancelled my S63 order to get a silver metallic S65 instead. Can't wait to have it delivered. It's funny how they call this interior "black leather" yet it's more of a graphite gray hue or charcoal if anything. Just check the contrast in respect to the black lacquer inlays.
The s65 is not direct fuel injection and it's a 3valves per cylinders.

The 2014 w220 s550 has aged so well, to the average person, it can pass as a 2019 model, and still look very expensive. I owned a 2014 and a 2016 s550, loved both! Best sedan for the money, never had any issues. My 2014 I purchased in 2019 with 70k miles, drove it until 90k miles and sold it for a 2017 750i m sport, loved that car a bit more only because the sporty looks, the ride quality was smooth or sporty, exhaust note and technology was amazing, I’m considering another 750i white with brown interior, best daily driving sedans. S550 does hold a bit more value then the 750i, but either way they are deff worth the money!
About 90% of the functionality and features will never be used by owners :(

BRILLIANT review! Once you've owned a Mercedes-Benz, you're HOOKED! I sorely miss my 1986 420SEL which I sold to a Mercedes-Benz tech with 350,000 miles on the original engine and transmission and never a day's trouble with the powertrain, but the A/C was a bleeping joke and a disgrace for a $50K car. Mine was all black like this example and damn near BBQ'd me during the summers here in FLORIDA. Mercedes-Benz should've swallowed their pride and RAN to GM, Ford, or Chrysler BEGGING them to show them how to build excellent reliable A/C like America does. My other Benz that I had at the same time was the EXCELLENT 1985 300CD which was a complete joy to drive, and was soooo fuel efficient (that too had A/C woes ugh!). GREAT cars nonetheless that I'd recommend all day long, ESPECIALLY the diesel/CDI/BlueTec models. BRAVO to you Kyle!

Awesome review for a great car. Send us more AMGs. Mercedes can keep the hybrids, who wants them. They wreck the environment and only mentally challenged would want one. Although, I would love to see a hybrid button on the car that would shift down and open up the exhaust and accelerate past the hybrid but I guess that would be politically incorrect.
That is just absolutely stunning! Beautiful inside and out and a wicked exhaust note too. Very aggressive for a V12 which is not an aggressive engine. My only gripes would be, I think the steering wheel is ugly (very minor) and I don't like this trend of every engine coming out seems to be a turbo. I much prefer naturally aspirated.

Great review from what I've heard from others. Unfortunately, I simply can not tolerate Kyle's voice. The sonic signature of his voice is fine but the cadence and unrelenting crescendos, sometimes 4 or 5 in a single sentence, is like riding a riding a melodic roller coaster. AND I HATE ROLLER COASTERS!!!

Your reviews are always extremely well done, and this is no exception. I've never had much time for MB's and this review doesnt change that. Can I disagree with some of your contentions? The first being, sitting right at the top of the 'ultimate luxury' totem pole is the Phantom, widely accepted as the best car in the world. It must gaul MB that the Phantom is made by their arch rivals BMW. Then, if this is the very best from MB where does the Maybach sit? MB have tried to steal the crown from RR [and failed] by creating the most massively burdened car with electronics ever seen! Goodness me, how many electric motors does it have? It is the ultimate expression of the 'nannying effect' gone berserk. And it was MB who a few years back really overdid it, and had to de-content their cars of some 2000 supposedly clever bits of electronics. And what happened to their oh so clever self-cleaning tail lights? They need to slip the word 'over' into their name....over-weight, over-engineered, over-priced, and over-kill electronically. Just like BMW, they are obsessed with trying to make a barge drive like a shorts car, and never will, just thwe like the best tyre maker in the world cannot make a tyre perfect in the wet, and perfect in the dry. And to make a quick comment on a post below, one turbo changers/muffles the pure sound of an engine, so tow would kill it altogether. It is certainly loud, but nothing like a naturally aspirated Aston Martin V12.....

This is literally my dream car. I've wanted one of these for like 6 years. The new W222 is just incredible.
I love every single thing about this car the only thing that would prevent me from buying it is the steering wheel design. There's no way I'm going to spend that much money and have such an ugly steering wheel staring at me the whole time I'm driving at. That to spoke design is so played out.
I don't want to live in a car. I want to get from A to B then forget the car.
That's just sad.

I was never an S65 owner, but my first car a few years ago was my grandpa's 2001 s600. I loved it. Interestingly enough, it had the same V12 as the current s600. It felt very luxurious and powerful, while still retaining it's Mercedes AMG feel. I miss that car so much, and want another V12 Mercedes for my next car.
