My dealer grease the pivots of the intake valve at each end of the intake and it works!

Having the same issue at the moment 2017 Kia Sportage. Kia just rebuilt my engine because it was burning too much oil (3 quarts every 1000 miles). The light came on less than a month after they worked on it. Do you think this has to do with the fact that carbon builds up in those GDI engines? They said they never had to take the part off to work on the engine which I think is BS.
They 100% did have to take the intake manifold off to swap it over to the new engine however It is possible that it wasn’t their fault. I just took this one apart and put it back together and the light never came back since, I know the owner of the car very well and yeah.. it’s been good 👍. I would say if your mechanically inclined than go ahead and take it apart like the video and see if there is any issues.. otherwise wherever you bring it to will probably just say “it needs an intake manifold”
@Tech-28 Back again. They replaced the intake manifold and luckily worked with me on the pricing as I didn't have a way to safely lift my car. I think this time it's the VCM so I'll replace that myself.

I just had this code come up yesterday. We're you able to solve the issue?
We removed the intake, cleaned it, put it back on, and the code never came back up.

@@sammaafala239 yeah just give everything a good wipe down.. takes a bit of time but its nice to get in all the little hidden spots, i used a silicone based grease on the pivot points located on the outside of the manifold to help keep things free and also to prevent any plastic component distortion.

Hello I have a 2017 Kia Optima I just had the same code come up but no difference in driving of the vehicle looked on some videos on UA-cam they said you can activate that motor to see if it's making noise but the scanner I have cannot do that I also read like you said about something about the deal that having to update or I think like you said flash to computer I don't know how you would do that my car only has 17,000 miles on it someone also told me because I just drive it locally not really over 30 miles an hour once in awhile I go on the highway that carbon could be built up in there what do you think do you have any kind of opinion somebody told me just get that whole piece that you took apart just buy a new one and install it
