I was born in 1983. 30 years after Mr. Williams passed. This man is the Greatest singer songwriter and musician that has ever lived. Such a tragedy that his life was taken at such a young age. His mucic will forever stand the test of time. May he forever rest eternally in love and peace
I loved Hank Williams & his songs & was heart broken when I heard of his death. I too this day play his records, first choice when I feel like hearing great music. There will never be a greater singer music writer than Hank as far as I'm concern!! God Bless him.
A brilliant artist, songwriter.A deeply religious man who knew Jesus.A deeply troubled soul who never learned to give it all to jesus. Yes he wrote my life too.
Princess Diane was just as loved as Hank Williams Sr. Look at the crowd of people paying their last respects. This photo immediately reminded me of Princess Di's funeral. Elvis Presley was another one much adored.
Thank you very much for thys previous video of Hank's service. My Moma & I came across it lookin for a song. What a treasure 2 have found thys.He was moma's favorite singer.God bless!
I was fiftheen when he pass away . Ihave talked with a fiddler that was at canton when they got word that he hadpassaway . we went to his grave site ten years ago which is on youitube.
Happy New Year 2023! Today, it-s exactly 70 years since Hank passed away. This fall, we'll remember his 100th birthday. Fascinating to read posts from people who remember the guy. Yes, rock music has many roots, and Hank was one of the thickest.
I heard a lonesome whistle blow. Was that the number 9, headed south from Caroline? Just imagine what he would have done if he hadn't left so soon. A true tragedy to American music that is still being felt today. Hank Williams kind of genius will forever be missed. I'm 53 years old and still waiting to hear his equal. I really enjoyed the drink we had in Montgomery, meant a lot to me. Getting kicked out of The Grand Ole Opry for raising a stink as to why Hank wasn't a member, priceless. I wear it as a badge of honor. The Opry sins to this day.
J Sweatt they found an unfinished song that Hank was working on in his blue Cadillac. God Only Knows what Hank would have accomplished had he lived a long full life.
There will be never another hank williams, the best singer, the best song writer with a beautiful voice. Rest in peace hank from me your fans from indonesia
Ele morreu quando eu tinha 10 anos. 70 anos se passaram pra que eu o conhecesse pela internet, mas sem o conhecer, aos 10 anos eu já gostava muito das suas canções, incrível!
I have heard about this man for 50 years....mostly legend and untruths...thanks for the video...I feel like I now know a little more about this man. Sad as it was.
Wow that's all I can say it makes me sad he is gone. What a true country writer he was. Growing up I idealised him still do every time I play a song are hear one from him.
Maureen krauss but there is 3 hanks. just saying Hank or Hank Williams don't specify enough which 1 of the 3 Hank Williamses you are talking about. Hank Williams Sr (this guy) Hank Williams Jr or Hank Williams 3rd all 3 are professionally recorded singer musicians
Deon,I don’t think you can say this.I believe he did many thousands and millions of moments all through his life.He was indeed a sinner! He was certainly a precious ,special child/man of God.Look how many souls were saved through his songs.Believe that it was an active god who gave him his special gifts. This is a great sermon....message.
Rebecca Arnold I believe that Hank Williams died in Knoxville Tennessee. I believe he had already passed when the porters at the hotel put him in his blue Cadillac.
Roy Acuff sounded a bit worn and torn, and that understandably... but wow that is beautiful at 46:45 Red Foley singing Peace in the Valley..wow that is as perfect as perfect gets. It proves my theory that content always overcomes technology, mono, one track, taped on an antique, it always comes down to talent and musicality. It is a shame he died so young and a miracle the same mixture of drugs and alcohol didn't kill me a dozen times over before I quit them.
I was a few weeks short of 4 years old, and from what I was told later I demanded to go with my mother to the funeral. We stood outside the auditorium in the vestibule. My first, clear memory of any event: The cops cleared a space right in front of us to carry out the women who had fainted in the auditorium, laid them on the marble floor and revived them with smelling salts. Sex, death and resurrection. It made quite an impression on a young boy. Many years later I chatted up Hovie Lister when he was a doorman at the Georgia State Senate and he told me everybody singing on stage was drunk.
We had a restaurant on the rt he would have taken, rt 21, to get to canton ohio, he may have stopped in for breakfast, instead we woke up to a sad radio, playing hanks.Songs, i was five yrs old, a sad day for all
THANKS FOR SHARING THIS. I HAVE A COPY OF HANK'S DEATH CERTIFICATE. I HELPED GET A POSTAL STAMP WITH HANK'S PICTURE ON IT I GOT PEOPLE TO SIGN A PETITION WANTING HANK PUT ON A US POSTAL STAMP AND WE GOT IT PASSED AND THEY PUT HANK ON A STAMP.

Did he say conjugated?God bless him if he did.I’ll bet he was a schoolteacher. This man is thorough.Hank is one of my favorite covers...What a great quartet. You think they practiced a lot?Now that’s what I call songwriting. This sounds like Martin Luther King giving the sermon! This is why Gospel music is the root. The Comforter. Not even 30!
IV read and watched all I could about his life and he was a happy man had health problems all his life a person with spina bifida usually only lived the maximum time back then 3 decades 30 years add a little coral hydrate morphine 2 or 3 beers not much being a thin man the Dr gave him 1/4 grain of morphine shot the docter came to hotel room his wife said he took coral hydrate by handfuls I'd say that the cause of death accidental overdose he stop breathing some were between Bristol and oak hill.god bless hank williams I hope and pray your in heaven.
The man had a 15 yr old driving him and was pulled by cops and made 2 go 2 the police station 2 pay a fine at night and Hank was left by himself passed out so who knows how he really died.

The greatest songwriter this country has ever known. His credibility is the way these songs speak to your soul, your conscience and sense of anguish.
No one could express, pain, a broken heart, and struggles of life, no matter how gifted.
Great singer, writer, and so down to Earth and humble. His songs are timeless. Well never forget you Hank Williams. Rip
i was only 14 years old and remember him with great love and respect for a great artist and now at 75 i still have the same feelings for hank,
A brilliant artist, songwriter.A deeply religious man who knew Jesus.A deeply troubled soul who never learned to give it all to jesus. Yes he wrote my life too.

I stand too be corrected on this. There was an all black quartet called the "Southwind singers"that sang at his funeral.
He deserved the big send off. He had a difficult short life. A true legend.
#RIPHankWilliams 🙏🏼
Deserved a big send off what's the difference he wasn't there to see it. As the saying goes give me my flowers now not when I'm dead.
@@erickrohn2970it does matter

Looks like upon investigating Woody's facial features we're from Tone Thyne, a former Disney animator
It was The Southwind singers (not Southland).
He was tryin'
The highways were backed up for miles outside of Montgomery. Hwy eighty two.
I guess it's fair that Audrey is buried next to him. She had her little ways, but so did Hank. And he loved her to the end.

What a shame, audrey sheppard near Hank Williams. She killed Hank.
The man had a 15 yr old driving him and was pulled by cops and made 2 go 2 the police station 2 pay a fine at night and Hank was left by himself passed out so who knows how he really died.
The drinking killed him

I always thought he died in a car accident.
RKBA i did to
Me too
No he was on the way to a concert and died in the backseat of his car. He drank and used several drugs and his heart gave out.
I wonder if medical science today could have fixed his back deformity, so he wouldn't have needed alcohol & drugs to dull the excruciating pain.
The longest piss ever
