- Hiking the Lewis River Falls trail, one of our favorite waterfall hikes within a weekend's drive of Portland, Oregon. The trail passes two of the most beautiful waterfalls in Washington: Lower Lewis River Falls and Upper Lewis River Falls. It's in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.

Looks like an awesome place!
I will be taking the kids to waterfalls. Thank you.
Great! Have a wonderful time at the falls 😀
Yep, here you are, once again, on one of my beloved hikes. Thanks for the current parking info, it was not that way last time I visited, which was long ago. I agree, Upper Falls... it was my fave too, by then you are beyond the crowd and it is such a sanctuary type feel. I love how you show your footsteps along the trail, and everything you put the camera on is exactly where I would want to look. You have a knack for capturing the very best of these outdoor adventures. Good trick, getting your hat wet to keep your head cool. I so appreciate your coverage of all your outdoor adventures. Hike on!
Thanks so much! I’m so happy that you’re enjoying the videos. It’s amazing how complex and broad the waterfalls are on the Lewis River. Such a special part of the world 😊.
Absolutely beautiful! Those trees are amazing. Loved the salmon berry identification tips - although I also don't like them very much. How long is the trail? Is there a lot of elevation/uphill hiking?
Thanks, Kel! Haha, yeah salmonberries have a very distinctive taste 🙂. I like them, but Bryan doesn't! The trail is about 8.5 miles to visit all 3 waterfalls, but it's not very steep/strenuous. Some people do shorter segments to visit one or two falls.
Do people paddle board in the lower falls area at all?
Yes they do! I’ve seen kayaks and paddleboards
