Here is a step by step tutorial on how to check engine codes on a BMW e30. This video shows how to do a stomp test on your BMW e30 ECU when you have a check engine light to see why the check engine light is on. The check that’s flashing is to inform you to check the check lights over the mirror. After you press the check butto on that display the flashing stops. It’s to let the car know you saw what’s wrong with it.
And the oi lights means you run low on engine oil.
You have the service bar on the odometer to indicate you the time to make and oil and filter change.

I’ve got the right ECU and have tried multiple times to get the codes to come up but it won’t. Could it be because the throttle cable is a little loose not allowing the throttle to go wide open
Your ECU IS 173 or above? If so, then I don’t think the gas pedal should be it but it might be worth investigating. Mine is also a little loose but I pressed hard into the floor, one press per second after the ignition was turned to “on” and it worked

I figured it out I’m getting a mysterious 1211 - DME error code. Think the chip I installed is messed up somehow… runs good though!
Dude, you literally said you weren't paying attention, just edit the video to do it right the first time, LOL. Also if you hold the pedal down for 15 seconds after the last code, you essentially reset the light on the dash, but if it's real it will come back anyway.
Wouldn’t have been authentic that way lmao
