This is my dream home, perfect, such synergy and harmony. Everything is perfect, nothing is ostentatious.
I agree. I absolutely love this design and architecture
That's the definition of Mid Century Modern.
Such a beautiful and peaceful house.
Stunningly beautiful.
Form and function working in tandem. Pure synergy.
I'm in the process of designing my retirement home in Hawaii... this mid-century modern is my inspiration. I was originally thinking Modern Bali years ago but MCM always draws me back. My hope is to design a scaled down version (~2200sf) and fit it in an approximate $1/2M budget using modern materials, owner builder elbow grease and eliminating some of the artistic, non-essential components, utilize black lava rock walls versus the split granite. The 1.25 acre lot is already paid for and not part of the budget. Wish me luck!
Best of luck! When finished consider posting a video as I would love to see the finished product.
Sounds fantastic good luck!!
Reminds me of Cameron's house in Ferris Buehler's Day Off (actual house in Highland Park, IL).
When cameron was in Egypt's land.
The beauty of nature and the architecture that enhances your experience is truly amazing. Watching the seasons as they passed by from snow in the winter to spring flowers and long days of summer followed by the changing colors of autumn would be nice to watch from inside this lovely home.
I've been fortunate enough to be in the house during all seasons and it really is breathtaking!
You wouldn't want to get out if you live in this house. Stunning !
The beautiful thing about the design of the house (as with many well-designed modern homes) is that the outdoors and indoors almost feel like one. Those large expanses of glass make you feel as thought you ARE outdoors all the time, and this home's exceptional location and native plantings make it even more wonderful of a place to spend time.
Ok... I am so crazy about this mid century home. Just love how much nature it brings into this gorgeous home. I'll buy it when l hit the lottery jackpot. Just imagine how much my kids can enjoy living here and so close to nature. Just absolutely stunning. 3-29-2019
In awe that this house only sold for 1,221,000 in 2020.
Salah satu rumah yang kontekstual, sadar lingkungan dan benar2 pengejawantahan sebuah rumah sebagai "space for living"..........👍👍👍
Seamless from inside to outside...love it ❤️
My dream home..spectacular
My dream home! Would look wonderful here in the hills of Middle Tennessee.
Gorgeous, looks to have sold in 2020. Wen it comes back on the market next time, will have to check out for purchase
It actually changed hands again already (privately).
Beautiful and unique
Wow! Speechless.
Gorgeous home! I keep thinking what will happen after a few glasses of wine with no railing anywhere on the property lol
What a dream place!
Hands down my dream home 🖤
The most perfect!
A wonderful design tour de force!
And all with the guidance or input of the original architect!
Thank you for this share!
Just love FLW influence -
It's great in this home, and still Blair brought his own sensibility to the design. The other great thing about it is that whenever work was done to the house, it was done with Blair's input or oversight.
STUNNNNNNNNNNNNNING!!!
Breathtaking!!
It's even more breathtaking in person!
The Property Channel

And it has a creek? Sign me up for living in it. Of course in winter I'd freeze.
I have Rudolph A. Matern home design. Amazing how MCM homes have everything thought of, space and function.

Looks like Cameron's Dad house in Ferris Buehler's Day Off
Definitely similarities in terms of the amount of glass and the beautiful, natural settings. Cameron's Dad's house in FBDO (aka the Ben Rose House) is in Highland Park, IL and was designed by A. James Speyer. The two homes are only about 20 minutes from each other. Speyer's pre-dates this one by about 6 years and Speyer used mostly steel as visible structural components, whereas this house is primarily stone and wood, with steel used only in a few places.
Just need the Ferrari!
Yes!!!! I thought that too!!
That home from the movie was for sale years ago actually.
Many beautiful (but expensive elements) that I find intriguing. But the heat loss through all those windows would be ridiculous. A high performance home at an affordable cost for me.
The home is surprisingly energy efficient. The house was essentially rebuilt about 20 years ago with state of the art, high end glass. Also, the home uses heat pumps instead of more traditional furnaces / AC units and, thanks to the deep overhangs, the home is very comfortable without costing a fortune to heat and cool.
The glass allows sunbeams to go through the windows, making the house warmer than houses with regular-sized windows.
I love the vast sprawling libraries and copious numbers of artworks, Oriental carpets, magnificent display cabinets full of glass, lacquer, toys, watches, rings, clocks etc - Oooops, sorry! That's in my Italian villa with views towards the Med & Corsica and not in a damp grey prefab in the middle of a sombre rain-belt ...
George Castanza designed the Guggenheim.
HA HA, that’s a good one. But I thought it was th building next to it...😉
Buehler?
Beautiful house. The kitchen and bathroom updates are hideous, though.
Can I buy the building plan? Seriously.
I don’t think the owners would be willing to part with them haha. Also, I’m not sure how many places would allow this house to be built today. Cantilevered out over the terrain, 90%+ of the exterior is glass, some of which is single panels 8’ high by 12’ wide, solid Douglas fir beams etc.
@@the-property-channel I was thinking you would have to build railings all around the outdoor areas.
@@mgkelly3389 You would for sure...but you could take them off later ;)
All that is missing is an infinity pool
It's a "keeper".....$$$$'s!
Bugs 🐜 🐞 🐛 go away😂
It has potential if, if there’s more passion and sentiment in it.
I mean it lacks of things that would humanize it such as paintings, rugs, and any other objects reflecting a direct human creativity, background, past and present and personality.
It was decorated with plenty of art, rugs, etc., so I'm not sure what you're referring to??
My god the flies and mosquitoes there would carry you off into the sky. It's a lovely home tho.
We don't really have an issue with flies around here as a pest / nuisance. You might see one or two during the summer but that's it. There's no standing water near the house, so mosquitoes aren't too bad either. The creek is running and mosquitoes don't like that, so they don't hang out there too much. Plus all the towns in the area spray for mosquitoes so they're not as bad as you might think.
Whats thd asking price
It was $1.2 million. It sold for just about that amount. (it sold last fall)
A house made of almost all glass is too safe for an attack from bad bad bad people.
Hi
It's not entirely original and some furnishings are ghastly.
And they couldn't even make a pool ffs
Pools are not practical here...we only have 2 months of summer...maybe 3. Doesn't mean people don't have them, but they're not common.
