This is wonderful, as I cannot find vellum paper in the craft shop any more! I've never heard of an Airing Cupboard before. What is it? I'm in Canada, and we don't have such things as airing cupboards, I don't think. I may try this method. Thanks for sharing! ~Janet in Canada
I make this paper, I have printed on it but I print before I wipe the oil on it. I just love, for pages for my junk journals. thanks for the tips. lean on God
it is the same as copy paper just a light weight paper but am sure it should work with most papers just means that a heavy paper will take more oil hope this helps Norma
I saw this on another channel and made such beautiful sheets from copy paper. Unfortunately, after drying and about a week the oil smell was so strong, I could not use them. Any ideas on how to help that? The papers you did are beautiful. It is such a great idea, but mine did not work well.
sorry to hear that you had problems - could be the oil that you used?? too much oil ?? I used vegetable oil which has been warmed slightly and then rub of as much excess as possible (does take awhile :( though) hope you have better luck next time
@@classiccarsclassicrock9433 have you tried by ironing the paper? I remember when my mother used to do batik and she cover the fabric with other piece of fabric and ironed out so she can remove the excess of wax. If you will try, please let me know about the results. Also, I saw others persons using paraffin for this technique.
yes I have used Glossy Accents as it does even if the paper is still a bit oily but am sure that there are other glues will try out the heavy gels as am sure that they would be just as god
@Gilda Lo Cascio, Ciao!
I tried this technique and liked what I saw but it seems that the oil transfers to other paper even after removing excess oil. I'm using talc to remove as much oil as possible. Anyone with a better idea? One more thing, I used coconut oil which might be the problem.
yes the problem may be you using coconut oil as I have always used cooking oil and not had this problem. Good idea though to use talc to absorb excess oil.
Claudia, I did this a couple of years ago and left the papers in a ziplock bag for a few weeks and they seemed to absorb all the oil. I think next time I’ll put some dry papers in the bag with them. Or maybe put an oiled sheet between 2 plain sheets and iron?
Hi Suzanne sorry if my technique was not very good but have got better as time has gone on and now invested in better set up as this was one of my first videos but hey we all have to start somewhere :)
Gonna have to try that!

Wonderful video. Very clear instructions. Thank you for sharing. Will be trying this very soon.
Glad it was helpful!
Great technique. Looking forward to trying this out.
I can never get the oil to stop transferring to other things it comes in contact with them😕
try drying it with a heat gun it must still have an excess of oil on the surface

It's where the boiler lives in older houses and you keep your linens and clean towels etc in there on wooden shelves.
Nice

Will definitely be trying this....
hope it works for you try not to put too mush oil at once just a little at a time and wipe off excess
Thank you
These are lovely. I've tried this with baby oil but I think yours work better with the cooking oil 😊 TYFS 🎶🌷

Wonderful!
Can I use regular printer paper ? Ty for the video. Have a good day 😊
Can I use thin scrapbookpaper as well? Do not have a color printer
Hi Bets to be honest I have never tried but am sure it would - if you try please let us know :)
Thank you for sharing this technique, can’t wait to try it out. When you print off the background paper is your printer a laser or inject.
Hi it seems that my printer is INKJET you learn something every day as I did not know :)
photo copy paper? is that something different than copy paper? It looks thinner that any photo paper I’ve used.

This is gorgeous! Is it printed with inkjet or laser? Would it make a difference in terms of smudging?
Hi inkjet but should not make any difference

@@craftedbynorma7224 Thank you. I did use vegetable oil. I did rub the excess for quite awhile. I will see what happens and try again.

Are there cotton fibers left on the paper after taking the excess oil off?
no as i have used photo copy paper - just printed out an image and then added the oil and wiped away any excess so no fibers left hope this helps
does the oil actually dry or does the paper feel slippy? looks great
the paper does dry and feels different as the fibres of the papers change
Thanks for the tutorial, Norma! Will glue still work to adhere things to this paper now?
I hadn't even thought of that😮 Some type of adhesive must work. She made envelopes.
Great question! I can't wait for the answer❤
