They decriminalized hard drugs, not legalized. Your "punishment" for being an addict was they gave you a job where you had to serve people in your community directly in a way that would ideally make you feel connected to people - like you belong and are valued. It works statistically very well, and Portland's failure to institute a program like this is probably why decriminalization failed there.
We need this man as our next president. People, please get behind Ron Paul at the next election. He is looking like our only sane choice. Don't just vote for the man who has the most money behind him. Wake up!!
Steve Jobs once said that taking LSD was the most important thing he did in his life imagine that, if it wasnt for LSD there would be no Mac or at least it would be as big as it is today
I can see the argument for keeping some drugs illegal but there are two things that are indisputable. 1 Cannabis should be legalised and 2 all drug possession should be at least decriminalised.
The pharmaceutical companies don't want cannabis legal because they will be ruined. Think about it, Why would anyone wanna spend 30$-100$ on medicine for pain/treatment when you could easily buy a gram, Roll a blunt and relax.
holy crap this guys HAS to be in charge of a country... fuck it ron paul can come over here and be prime minister here in England cuz our one is shit at the moment
I can't help but be impressed with this man, while his party competitors continue to go on with the rhetoric of fear, he talks common sense and policy.
disagree with his fiscal policy, but agree with his social policy due to his strong stance on civil liberties, i do have a lot of respect for ron paul.
An ultimatum: Either make tobacco and alcohol illegal, or make recreational drugs legal. There is not a single reason to ban a drug that does not apply to tobacco and alcohol. I don't condone their use, but then again, I don't condone eating 50 cheeseburgers a day either- and that doesn't mean that it should be illegal!
I didn't say that. I just said that the type of depression that can be treated in one way is not the same as the type that can be treated in the other way. For example, I was falsely diagnosed with ADD as a child. The medicine they gave me for it actually made it worse, because I had a different disorder (it was actually a food allergy). American medical regulations require that any prescription have a specific recommended dose. This doesn't work for food.
Minds are not free when on drug. Legalization means allowing drugs to enslave the mind of human. No free being should allow the legalization of drugs for recreation.
And the funny thing is, I'm in the military, and I'm not even able to smoke, nor do I. I just highly advocate legalization due to its overwhelming advantages economically, medically, etc...
Actually, prohibition was taught by a rather angry dad that, I quote, "will knock all of your fuckin' teeth out and then you'll have to eat mashed potatoes for the rest of your life." I loved mashed potatoes as a kid but I can imagine it would get boring having to eat that all the time with no teeth to eat anything else. Don't do drugs...
Portugal has had full legalization since 2001 and all the fearmonger by antilegalization about everyones going to be addicts, blah blah. None of that ever happened.
He not only wants to get us out of Iraq, but all the 150+ countries we're now in. This would make us a lot safer, because we'd be trying to get along with the other countries of the world instead of bullying them. It would also save us a lot of money, balance the budget, and strengthen our economy! He will get my vote! He speaks his mind he doesnt give a fuck! We need!
Even if this dude has the top job his chances of passing said props are practically zero. If his own party is in conflict with his ideas how will he achieve any of this?
Dr. Paul is NOT for drugs, but he understands that prohibition is a failure, and a violation of rights. Dr. Paul understands the benefits of industrialized hemp. hopefully, by 2012, the election climate will be condusive to an alternative candidate like Ron Paul.
I'd like to see another candidate or ex-candidate structure a speech like this without practicing. Other candidates practice and correct their speeches, then they say them; however Ron Paul knows what he has to say and says it.
My fiancee is suffering from a terrible skin condition that pseudo-ephidrine is really helping with. It stops the terrible itching. Today I picked up our second package of Clariton D in two months. I was met with eyes of suspicion because I was in there last month and obviously I must be making Crystal Meth. I payed double what I should and had to wait 15 minutes to fill the "script." Oh for the days when easing suffering was considered heroic!
@AngusMcSpuds Ron Paul is against laws that create victimless crimes . In fact we cannot even begin to count the reasons why the war on drugs should be ended. I hope you're right about the electoral climate in 2012.
Im from the UK but we always get news from the u.s, and all i heard was Barack! barrack obama, could be first black presidant wow! didnt hear anything on ron paul actualy. I would have voted Ron.
@AngusMcSpuds Such a simply concept yet so few seem to grasp it. Ending prohibiltion was no more an endorsement of acohol abuse than the legalizing of drugs will be an endorsement of drug abuse. And it will happen. Sanity will prevail.
Most of those are of very questionable efectiveness. At any rate, they're also available if you want them, so I don't see how they're being "suppressed." Some depression can be cured with breathing (or proper diet and exercise), but that's not the same kind of depression Prozac is meant to treat. I wouldn't consider them to be in direct competition with one another.
@AngusMcSpuds Such a simply concept yet so few seem to grasp it. Ending prohibiltion was no more an endorsement of acohol abuse than the legalizing of drugs will be. And it will happen. Sanity will prevail.
Its not about drugs being good or bad, its about what choices a person makes when it comes to their body. It is proven that since a drug is legal it does not increase its usage. Put the drug lords and gangs out of business and take the billions of dollars out of our black market by legalizing drugs so the good people can produce and sell a good in our capitalist country!
I'm still kinda pissed that there are people who are writing in votes to someone who withdrew from the race. Obama is a good candidate with good ideas and credentials, and he doesn't owe a dime to anyone but us, the American people. So I don't see it as a vote "against" McCain, but a reason to vote FOR Obama.
I never understood what people like about cannabis but I don't think it's a big problem, neither are other class A drugs like acid and mdma. We just need to educate kids thoroughly and honestly about the effects and consequences of using it just like we do with alcohol and tabacco. People will do it anyway. I'm an occasional mdma user and I know exactly what to do when I use it. Drink enough water, but not too much, I don't ever take too much of it, don't mix it with other drugs/alcohol.
@awarenessis Exactly even the founding fathers such as George Washington once said " Make the most of the hemp seed and sow it everywhere" Along with Benjamin Franklin who used it to start one of America's first paper mills. Free the Hemp and Elect Ron Paul in 2012!
@cyberwaffles What I hate, is when I hear small segments agree with me,I become pretty damn optimistic.. Like I've heard before that somethingl ike 10% of us believe ALL drugs should be legalized... Meaning, at work there's 300 people there, 30 of us believe that the war on drugs is bullshit! It would be nice if it was higher, but hey, it makes me feel less isolated...
Portugal legalized drugs, street conflicts and addiction reduced. FACT.
Washington DC once banned firearms, crime rate went up. FACT.
They decriminalized hard drugs, not legalized. Your "punishment" for being an addict was they gave you a job where you had to serve people in your community directly in a way that would ideally make you feel connected to people - like you belong and are valued. God why this man didn't become president I will never know
Have a 5 minute conversation with the average numbed out dumbed down voter
I think about it every now and then and it's one of my biggest what if's. I think he would've been the greatest of all time.
He’s too logical.
Neocon warhawks afraid of losing their grip on the people
Hell yeah. I'm voting for this guy! I'm tired of my voice not being heard. We can do this everyone!
The greatest president we never had.
We need this man as our next president.
People, please get behind Ron Paul at the next election. He is looking like our only sane choice. Don't just vote for the man who has the most money behind him. Wake up!!
In insane world, the voice of reason is considered insane
Steve Jobs once said that taking LSD was the most important thing he did in his life
imagine that, if it wasnt for LSD there would be no Mac or at least it would be as big as it is today
We love Ron Paul
I can see the argument for keeping some drugs illegal but there are two things that are indisputable. 1 Cannabis should be legalised and 2 all drug possession should be at least decriminalised.
It's nice to know this man is a realist
We love you, Ron Paul!
Love Ron Paul!! And I'm still watching his Liberty Report, a good source of truth when it comes to real information ❤❤❤
This man HAS to be president...the only honest man left in Washington.
The pharmaceutical companies don't want cannabis legal because they will be ruined. Think about it, Why would anyone wanna spend 30$-100$ on medicine for pain/treatment when you could easily buy a gram, Roll a blunt and relax.
man this guy hits em like a BOSS!!
neolib or neocon, he doesn't give a Damn.
always the truth truth truth.
Ron Paul for the Wiin!!
MY MIND IS TOTALLY BLOWN!!!!! I didn't even know half of that, and I was already on board! My mind is officially as open as it can be haha
If we are not free to chose un-wisely, wrongly or irresponsibly, then we are not free at all!
join CAMPAIGN FOR LIBERTY!
holy crap this guys HAS to be in charge of a country... fuck it ron paul can come over here and be prime minister here in England cuz our one is shit at the moment
I can't help but be impressed with this man, while his party competitors continue to go on with the rhetoric of fear, he talks common sense and policy.
Please...please....please.....vote for Ron Paul.
ron paul provides me with hope in our political system, but he is only one man. let's all support him so that this one man can become THE MAN.
how has ron paul not won the presidency?(sp)
Ron Paul is a true American Patriot
The criminals fear Dr Ron for good reason.
Ron Paul is only guy in politics i believe and is a honest guy and im from europe. We need more ppl like him
Americans, please stop this madness. You are the only people that can save millions of falling into this war on drugs void.
As a Canadian, Ron Paul gives me a bit of hope for the USA.
We Need Dr. Ron Paul for President.. Very Smart Man with common sense something Washington obvious Needs...
Well, it still lends itself to the same equation: less government intervention with what people do to themselves = less violence and problems.
I'm not for big or small government... I'm for RATIONAL government
Liberty Defined: 50 Essential Issues That Affect Our Freedom Hardcover - Large Print, April 19, 2011
by Ron Paul (Author)
i really cannot comprehend how you can't like this guy
@vivalanidiot10 he's honest, not a partisan liar, and his policy is amazing
I swear a crowd would cheer for anything lol
disagree with his fiscal policy, but agree with his social policy due to his strong stance on civil liberties, i do have a lot of respect for ron paul.
Hey guys, I'm going to implement some logic into this war on drugs. Legalize them all.
An ultimatum:
Either make tobacco and alcohol illegal, or make recreational drugs legal. There is not a single reason to ban a drug that does not apply to tobacco and alcohol. I don't condone their use, but then again, I don't condone eating 50 cheeseburgers a day either- and that doesn't mean that it should be illegal!
Ron Paul is God
Now it will take some time to get that out of my head: a telefone pole sized joint... yum yum!
I´ll vote on him!!
This man should be the leader of the "free" world.
I know one guy who died on caffeine overdose lmao
but you right
respect
fascinating... this man got balls!
I didn't say that. I just said that the type of depression that can be treated in one way is not the same as the type that can be treated in the other way. American medical regulations require that any prescription have a specific recommended dose. This doesn't work for food.
"war on drugs" is an oxymoron. you can't have a war against a substance. what the "war on drugs" really means is the war on citizens who use drugs.
Minds are not free when on drug. Legalization means allowing drugs to enslave the mind of human.
No free being should allow the legalization of drugs for recreation.
@userste why is that?
And the funny thing is, I'm in the military, and I'm not even able to smoke, nor do I. I just highly advocate legalization due to its overwhelming advantages economically, medically, etc...
an advertisement for Biluxi, Mississippi....REALLY?!?!?!???!?
Actually, prohibition was taught by a rather angry dad that, I quote, "will knock all of your fuckin' teeth out and then you'll have to eat mashed potatoes for the rest of your life."
I loved mashed potatoes as a kid but I can imagine it would get boring having to eat that all the time with no teeth to eat anything else. Don't do drugs...
I love this dude!!!!!
He actually gets applauded for this at a Republican National Convention? Wow. We really are taking over the party, aren't we?
Portugal has had full legalization since 2001 and all the fearmonger by antilegalization about everyones going to be addicts, blah blah. None of that ever happened.
He not only wants to get us out of Iraq, but all the 150+ countries we're now in. Hell. I'm a neo-marxist, and i'd vote for Ron Paul over Obama or any other democrat any day.
my vote you got it my brother
As he states in one of his other clips, the best source of ethanol is HEMP!
Even though he is right on this, he wouldn't be a good president. He won't get my vote!!!
Even if this dude has the top job his chances of passing said props are practically zero. If his own party is in conflict with his ideas how will he achieve any of this?
Why isnt this man president?

RON PAUL 4 LIFE.....WHY IS THIS DUDE NOT OUR PRESIDENT
@AngusMcSpuds Ron Paul is against laws that create victimless crimes . In fact we cannot even begin to count the reasons why the war on drugs should be ended.

Ron Paul is so fucking amazing.
Ron paul is da shit man. . finally a republican who takes on drug policy the same as i think they should be taken. .
Ron Paul would make a damn fine president i think
@AngusMcSpuds Such a simply concept yet so few seem to grasp it. Ending prohibiltion was no more an endorsement of acohol abuse than the legalizing of drugs will be an endorsement of drug abuse. And it will happen. Sanity will prevail.
I don't know about that last part lol
VIVA RON PAUL!
@jstb0b Sadly he is retiring if he does not win. Lets hope his son does some great things with his future.
If
Ron Paul
Gets
Elected President,
Then I'm willing to Cut my hands and legs.
-peace.
Haha I absolutely love your user name! Oh, and your comment. Spread the truth, alternative medicine over corporate, government run "health" care!
legalize marijuana and the beer biz would go bust!
Most of those are of very questionable efectiveness. At any rate, they're also available if you want them, so I don't see how they're being "suppressed."

God ron paul is the man you should get Pacific Rim Fish Oil for you're memory at mydailyomega.com
I know. I was being sarcastic
Name a few big name Dems who are for it. I don't see it in the Democratic Party platorm.
Dam near everyone online supports legalizing weed and yet its still illegal ... something is terribly wrong with this picture
this guy knows his shit

Yeah, he's hooked on the Republican Party though. At least what used to be the Republican Party.
I dissagree................everything in moderation and we will all be fine.
