I woke up this morning after not having heard this in like 6 months, singing every word! How applicable in 2020 with everything that’s happening, so comforting 💕👏🏼
i listen to this, grey, and imposter all the time bc they regularly get stuck in my head; i adore them so much! still holding out hope that maybe someday they'll get studio versions 💗
I think this may be one of my favourite songs of yours, the lyrics are so clever. Love the line 'maybe I'm a coward being cryptic or maybe this is all apocalyptic' ! X
Orla I’m sure you won’t see this, but if you do, I just wanted to tell you I STILL come back to this video. It feels more real to me every time I listen. Thank you for your art! Thank you for your openness and dedication even all these years ago.
I love this song because it's such a relatable feeling but I also hate how true-to-life this song is because there's always something going on that makes me feel this way. #justiceforgeorgefloyd
orla im so mad at you WHY IS THIS NOT ON SPOTIFY you dont understand how passionate i feel about this i physically cannot function without this on spotify
For anyone looking for the chords, here it goes: Verse: F-Dm-Fmaj7-Dm-Bb-Gm-Bb-C Chorus: (my guard is down..) F-A7-Bb-Gm (some chord I can't figure out but you can play Bbm) F-A7-Dm (can't even try) F-A7-Bb (again weird chord/Bbm)-Gm-Bb (till you pool....) Verse Bridge: (maybe this is turbulence...) Dm-C-G Then chorus again Bridge... And that's all! When she plays the verse on the piano she starts by playing an F and then the higher note goes to D (to form the Dm) and then to E (to form Fmaj7) and comes back to Dm (I hope you understood my explanation :)) Of course, these aren't the exact chords, but having listened to it like a million times, I think I can say they are quite close to the originals and sound great! PD: Orla if you ever read just wanted you to know that I love your music and pleaseeee keep on creating and sharing your beautiful art! PD2: I'm sorry if I have some mistakes, I am Argentinian and English isn't my native language.
Orla, I am the type that rarely cries; not because I don't want to, but because it is difficult to let my emotions loose enough. Music is my passion and the few times I have cried have been to music. Right now, I am going through a pivotal moment in my life, and I have many emotions bottled up. I stumbled upon your music today and for some reason, listening to this song moved me so much that I just started crying uncontrollably, and even now as I type, I am still tearing up. I thank you so much for that. I can tell you genuinely feel the music you write and it. You are truly a beautiful soul. Much love.
I saw you in Dublin recently (the night you fell over the speaker) and you performed a song titled 'licking batteries' and it was so amazing -as was your whole performance. I was just wondering when that will be available to listen to because I only got about 10 seconds of it on snapchat and i need the whole thing in my life😂
I don't get how you're not crying throughout the whole of that song - I've got the tears and sniffles from listining to the lyrics as this is how I feel about depression. Beautiful song and still hitting all the right nerves after two years! Thanks a bunch!
good one orla, haven't really watched your videos in a while but this song makes me want to rewatch every video you've ever made so thank you. hope you're well x
I think it's in F, so the intro is: F - Bb - F - Bb / C. Verse (my guard...) is: F - A - Bb... F - A - Bb... F - A - Bb - A Bb A - G - Bb Chorus (maybe...) is: D - C - G... D - C - G And that's about it, watch out for details and enjoy. Btw: It's fun to play this with an upbeat-groove similar to swing (1, and 3, and 1, and 3).
Never ever stop making music. I live not only for your voice but for your lyrics. The lyrics from Roots is still my favorite tattoo that I've got, and I look forward to the day I get more.
my friend sent me this and as soon as you began to sing, my eyes began to rain. everything about this song is so beautiful. the lyrics.. oh my.. the lyrics are golden. they're so real & man, they hit you. this is an incredible song, orla! and definitely a new favourite of mine. thank you for this❤
This song is so good that even 'good' is not enough to describe it. It just sounds amazing.... I try to cover it but it will never sound as wonderful as it does when u sing it... And the lyrics, and the video, and just you!!!!!! thank you for this xxx
Met with a young songwriter/entrepreneur/mover/shaker over coffee couple of months back. Her parents are fans of my early work (yikes) and encouraged the meeting. Anyway, when your name came up her 23 y/o eyes got wide as saucers, "YOU like Orla?" "Of course, love her work!" was my silver-haired reply. She asked if I liked Problematic. I hadn't heard it, I intentionally avoid my favorite young artists' very early works b/c I can't stand my early stuff and don't want to pigeonhole anyone else in a rut where they can never live down their first couple albums. But I listened to this one. Be proud, it's very good.
My favourite song of yours!!!! Everything about it is perfect - piano, beat, lyrics, voice, visuals 😄 You are such an inspiration to me, please keep doing what you love and making such good tunez xxx
i love this! i hear a kinda laura marling's talent for powerfully rythmic and rich-rhyming lyrics, + such a great voice and personality mixing great control and true self-abandoning to the music, + the power to take three cheap drum noises, a few chords, a great melody, to make it so musical, like a chef cooking from the simplest tastiest things. thumbs up, supporting you a thousand times, please make that album!! :*
i love this sorta cheap sound though, the mariage of good pop and 'garage' anti-folk music - my clumsy words, don't know if you'd relate at all - please don't change this by overproducing your tunes in the studio... well just do whatever you feel like doing of course- actually please don't let anyone tell you what to do!!! haha
Orla, Ive been listening to you since your "all the little details" days! I'm so proud of you and how far you have come. This is DEFINITELY my favorite song right now!! Thank you for everything you do!!

For anyone looking for the chords, here it goes:
Verse: F-Dm-Fmaj7-Dm-Bb-Gm-Bb-C
Chorus: (my guard is down..) F-A7-Bb-Gm (some chord I can't figure out but you can play Bbm) F-A7-Dm (can't even try)
F-A7-Bb (again weird chord/Bbm)-Gm-Bb (till you pool....)
Verse
Bridge: (maybe this is turbulence...) Dm-C-G
Then chorus again
Bridge...
And that's all!
When she plays the verse on the piano she starts by playing an F and then the higher note goes to D (to form the Dm) and then to E (to form Fmaj7) and comes back to Dm (I hope you understood my explanation :))
Of course, these aren't the exact chords, but having listened to it like a million times, I think I can say they are quite close to the originals and sound great!
