At 4'11" I'm still trying to wrap my brain around showing some ankle with my pants--they remind me of "high waters" or "floods" when we were kids and had outgrown our jeans! I still think it makes me look shorter by breaking my leg line with this horizontal hem but I'll keep trying, it does look fresh and cute.
I also think of kids ridiculing people for their high water pants! It's hard to get out of that mind set!!
I think it makes your legs looks shorter by creating that horizontal line...I don't get that one either
I agree, and if you’ve noticed lately, full length pants and jeans are now in again. Never have liked ankle length pants.

There were so many great ideas here!! In the 1950's they always pushed up the sleeves and that gives a stylish look as well as arm lengthening. I like the idea of showing a little bit of skin when wearing pants. It's really these little things that make a difference and make a person look taller, slimmer, and just more polished

They even are coming out with button up tops that are shorter, which is a great idea for bodies that are petite. I’m 5 foot 2 and I’m very petite so I like the shorter top so I don’t have to tuck in a lot of bulk in my pants. I’m 67 and find the tips are great!

You ladies are beyond helpful! I tend to wear the same few items until they wear out but then can't find replacements since the trends had then changed. I feel like it's either a bodysuit or oversized sweater available at the stores these days but love these tips!
When you find something that suits you buy multiples
I am Petite but have a Short Torso so wearing Short Top or Tucking in a Top makes my Top half look Shorter still. Your advice works for Petite in Proportion Bodies or Long Torso bodies though.

Great video. It was perfect for me since I’m 4’10”. I find it helpful to wear a skin color tank top with the crop tops so no skin shows when I lift my arms, etc. or I wear one that matches the color of the top. Keds makes a leather platform sneaker that is super flattering and comfortable, I’ve been wearing mine on repeat 🔁 😊

i think you should also include high waisted jeans, this makes a huge difference to leg lengthening , also over the knee flat boots in same colour as bottoms helps too

The problem with the crop tops is they work while standing, but when you bend or sit down, skin usually ends up showing in back.
I wear a fitted tank top tucked in similar color under shirts. Helps smooth, covers the extra large arm holes & no skin peeks.

Agreed. But I believe by wearing mid rise or high rise jeans /pants it would make a difference with a shorter top.

Try a camisole underneath, tucked in, and either same color as sweater, or in your skin tone.

I really enjoy these styling tips. Although I disagree about showing ankle. I think that is outdated now and full length pants are more in style and adding an extra inch or two to your inseam also visually elongate the legs.
Right! It makes sense that if the pant leg is shorter, the leg will look shorter, not longer!

I’m 5’2 and have been incorporating many of these tips for years since I can no longer wear a lot of heels due to foot surgery. These tips really do work to make me look taller. I wear monochromatic looks but never equated them with looking taller - so true 😉.
Also - I never thought about the colour of my shoe before in terms of looking taller. I will pay more attention to that:)

I never knew a nude shoe made all the difference either. I had to stop wearing heels for foot pain. My awesome foot Dr got me though the pain. I even started again with a platform or wedge but the heel is much lower than just a few years ago.

I actually have the same body type (Kelli-blonde). I'm 5'3 with a very short torso and long legs but I really love the high waisted jeans (usually around 9-10 inch rise) with a top cut right to my waist line. I always get asked if I lost weight when I wear that combo. lol

I still have a hard time exposing the ankles with pants as I think they also cut off my frame. It is for that reason why I don’t like cropped pants. I like the longer lengths that make my legs look longer. I do agree that any nude foodwear will make you look longer.

I'm 5'6" shoe size 7 1/2 . I really have to be mindful of my feet looking very long with some flats.
I’d like to see these tips on full figured women or apple shape. The looks on thin women doesn’t convince me.

As someone who is 5'9" I use these tips also. I think I look better with heels, but don't like being over 6' tall. When I put on flats, I feel stumpy sometimes too.

So enjoyed this video, I am 5’1. I am having a hard time deciding what length to get my jeans hemmed, 25”, 26 ?? Please any help would be so appreciated.
I am 5’3 & typically prefer between 26-27’ but it really depends on the length of your legs more than your height. I suggest putting on the jeans with the style of shoes you wish to wear them with (hopefully, multiple styles will work) & then pin them where you feel it looks best. For me that’s around the top of that ankle bone that sticks out😉
Great tips! However, what do you suggest when you’re petite (only in height 4’1”)? My stomach is huge and I’m large breasted, no hips, no butt. I always wear a crop or Capri pant, Bc even petites are very long on me. By wearing these, they fit more “normal” on me. I have tried doing the front tuck, but who wants to see this big belly budge? It makes me even more self conscious. I tend to always wear a blouse 2x too big, Bc I’m so self conscious.
Both of you lovely ladies have flat tummies and can tuck your shirts in and look great. I unfortunately have the hormonal fupa going on and most of the time cannot tuck my shirts in. Do you have any tips for someone like me?
I’m trying to figure out my body type and I think I look similar to you guys when you wear skinny jeans with a shirt tucked in (in this video in particular, the yellow striped top) Would you say that both your body types are considered long torso with short legs?
Christina (brunette) is an hourglass with a longer torso & shorter legs. I have a more rectangular body shape (not much curve) & actually have a very short torso with long legs. But as you can see these tips work for both of us.
I actually just watched this video again after reading your reply that Christina has a long torso and short legs. I don’t understand why she wouldn’t use her own advice (to drive home her point)and wear the vertical stripes on her bottom half rather than her top. By wearing the vertical stripes on her long torso she’s kind of negating what she’s saying in that clip. She’s elongating her already long torso even more and stunting the length of her short legs. I think she’d also benefit and look longer and leaner in this outfit if she wore a higher waisted jean with a different wash. The faded top portion of the jean is a cool look but shortens the look of the legs. A darker wash with no fading Would be better to elongate.
You lovely ladies put out another very good video, with very good tips. But….since I have a petite, curvy frame😮, I am not sure how I am able to pull off some of these looks. I run from crop tops because I feel they accentuate my bust ( 36C )a little too much, and I don’t like my “ too much junk in the trunk “ ( size 8 pushing 10) to show. I have stuck to straight leg jeans, pointy toe flats and boyfriend sweaters, ( usually dark colored ones ) but, I do want to look taller. I’m only 5’3. ☹️. Help! I am going to research your other videos. I don’t know if you’ve done one on just a curvy figure…

I was reading the reviews for the Laur Leather Bit Loafer and most complained of shoe causing blisters. Do you all have any issues?
When I first wore them they did so I wore a no shoe sock after that. When I don’t use socks I use bandaids to protect my heels.
