great vid and tips, just wondering how people are recording the whole thing?
My plan was to use my watch for the swim and run, and bike computer for ride. wasn't really going to record anything for T1/T2, but guess I'll miss out on the T1 run.... I know my Garmin has a Tri function on the watch, but never used it as im new to triathlons. Ive seen it has separate bits for all 3 disciplines and the transitions by just pressing lap. just curious to what others do?
I use a watch for the whole thing, but will have a bike computer on for the route so I don't go wrong and so I know about sharp bends that are coming up, handy for looking at the numbers for pacing too
Thanks a lot for doing this mate, some very useful tips. Does it matter which bag your wetsuit and T1 shoes ultimately go in during T1, as in the pink bag or the bike bag you’d normally use? Also is it true that the final timing mat is at the beginning of the red carpet and not under the arch that shows the names and times?
Cheers buddy, smash it! No it doesn't matter which bag, so long as they're both hung up. I'm not sure about the finish line tbh! I've always taken my time down there anyway :)

Great videos - I’m looking at wales for 2024 so thanks for the tips. How does this event compare to Bolton, especially the bike course?
I’ve done both, I’d say wales and boltons bike course are similar in terms of difficulty , lots of climbing , rubbish roads lots of technical descents etc. However, I’d say wales is tougher on the run basically 5.5k up 5.5k down x4 ! It’s a great race though, enjoy!
I think Wales is "easier", it feels like it flows better, but both savage!
