We aren't 100% sure, but we may ride the PCX's in the 2023 Scooter Cannonball Run instead of riding our Super Cubs again... we'll see! I have more PCX videos that I can edit for the channel. The smaller blindspot mirrors on the sides are these from Amazon: amzn.to/3KgYbtl . I mounted them flat instead of using the included swivel mounts and foam tape. The mirrors are convex, so they don't have flat backs. I used a couple of layers of 3M VHB tape stacked up in the center to provide a flat mounting plane for the primary glass beneath them. They've been on there for 6+ years without any problems! The larger convex mirror in the center of my windscreen is the Riderscan Blind Spot Mirror: amzn.to/3x5MuC2 . Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
That is the KipMoto SherpaX trailer: kipmoto.com/pages/sherpax . We purchased those to pull behind our Super Cubs during the Scooter Cannonball Run in July 2021. We rode our Super Cubs nearly 10K miles around the country while pulling those trailers, and we never had a single mechanical problem throughout the entire trip! You can find those videos on my channel here if you're interested: ua-cam.com/play/PLLXxDh3JumLnSK37lF4AcrF28frAIfLfA.html . Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

Yep, the 500X still has the factory exhaust and it's very quiet... great for long highway trips. Adrian's Super Cub has the SP-Takegawa P-Shooter exhaust on it because we needed the extra clearance to pull the trailers during the Scooter Cannonball Run last year. We hate those exhausts because they are very noisy and their durability is crap. I'm working with Coffman's Exhaust to make a prototype Shorty exhaust for the Cub. We'll see how that turns out. Hopefully, it will be quieter than the P-Shooter and a LOT more durable. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard thanks for the reply, I remember your comments on the quality from the cannonball vids. Just finished working out how and where to load my Super Cub for a Lands End John O Groats end to end run in the UK later this year. We can’t use trailers on 125cc bikes in the UK. Small, light and minimal.
I am having hard time getting answer to the question I have. Since you have multiple bikes, I thought you might know better. Do you know if the key fob for the Super Cub C125 is same as ADV150? (or any other Honda models?)
That's a good question, but I don't have an answer for you. The Super Cub is the only bike in my stable with keyless ignition. As I recall, the smart key fob for the Super Cub is very similar to the one for the ADV150, but I don't know if they are exactly the same or not. Maybe we can look up the Honda part number and cross-reference it to see what other models it's assigned to. I do know that new fobs need to be programmed to the bike... that's for sure. 😉👍 --QM
Nice! Say, specifically what kind of weather stripping did you use (or would you use) to keep road splash out of the Rubbermaid? I need to do the same very soon. Thx!
I bought a roll of M-D rubber weatherstrip in 0.5 x 0.5". I cleaned the underside of the lid recess with rubbing alcohol, and then applied the weatherstrip. It's still holding up very well, and we didn't have any leaks throughout our month-long trip. The next upgrade that we're going to make to the Rubbermaid boxes is to add tool bucket organizers around the inside perimeter. That will let us contain smaller items off of the bottom of the box. 😉👍 --QM
That was on Windy Ride !! , Kinda like the time I had riding a couple of weeks ago . I literally had to hang off the seat of my 650 pound Burgman 650 to keep me going straight ..Then the wind would be blocked by buildings or Trees & I had to quickly shift back to being upright ... At one point I had to literally slow to under 45mph on the Motorway & put my Hazards on as I was fighting it soo much. It was Mad it didn't help i had a 50 pound Rucksack on my back & 33 pounds under the seat!
Yeah, I wondered if Adrian and Neil were going to be blown off the road a few times. My CB500X has more mass and less surface area, so it usually doesn't get blown around too much. I was even fighting those crosswinds that day because of my luggage. Then again, just about any vehicle will get bullied by 30-40 MPH crosswinds! 🤣👍 --QM
Howdy, Evan! I'm using the Quad Lock mount and phone case with a few modifications. The breakdown of the pieces and links to the items are listed below: - Quad Lock Motorcycle Vibration Dampener: amzn.to/3huKyLt - Quad Lock 1" Ball Adapter Mount: amzn.to/3hqLvEl - Quad Lock Weatherproof Wireless Charging Head: amzn.to/3uLT79q (not installed on the NAVI yet, but it's standard on all of my other bikes) - RAM 1" double socket arm: amzn.to/2SZOgmD - RAM Mounts RAM-B-272U 9mm Angled Bolt Head Adapter Ball Base with B Size 1" Ball: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0012TRIY4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 Note that you will need a phone-specific case for use with the Quad Lock mount, so you can shop those here: www.quadlockcase.com/collections/shop-moto I recommend using the RAM 1" ball 9mm mirror base adapters so you have more flexibility in mounting accessories to your handlebars (e.g. phones, GPS, GoPro, etc). If you only use a single RAM adapter, then the screen or mirrors would be uneven, so it's just easier to get two of them (or you could use a flat washer as a spacer on the opposing side). Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll be glad to help. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

@@QuasiMotard Thank you. I just got my 2021 super cub last September when I got my permit. I live in Seattle area and thought it would be great for camping here.
I'd imagine maybe 200cc in the future, but if Honda made a mini rebel I'd love to see a 200cc crossplane twin like the NC750x or Africa Twin, tiny cruiser bike with a sound to match.
I think that a Super Cub with a 185-200cc air-cooled single cylinder engine would be just about ideal. That would still be lightweight and efficient, but it would add the necessary power to cruise comfortably at 60 MPH with a bit of headroom. Honda could extend the frame and swingarm by a couple of inches and add a bit of steering rake for high-speed stability. Upgrade the rear wheel to a disc brake with 2-channel ABS. Then expand the fuel tank capacity under the seat to 2.5 gallons. That would be a superb touring Cub! 😉👍 --QM
The PUIG Traffic seems to be a good choice for a mid-height screen, and the PUIG T.X. works well for a taller touring screen. Adrian has the T.X. on his Cub and he says it works very well. I prefer the lower screens like my Asahi Short Visor mainly because of the aesthetics and it doesn't add too much drag. You can check out the different options from RevZilla.com and a few other online resellers. They should have pictures of the screens installed on the Super Cub, so that will give you an idea of how they look. You never really know how tall a screen is until you install it and sit behind it. Good luck with your shopping, and I hope you find a good fit! Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
The CB500X is my commuter and long-haul tourer. I've installed auxiliary front and rear lighting to be more visible on the road, and the mirrors help me see the crazy cagers from behind. The parabolic mirror on the windscreen has saved my bacon lots of times when cagers are hiding in my blindspot or when they're approaching at dangerous speeds from behind in traffic. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard nice I am having some trouble with the original mirrors on the cub. I have one of the mirrors that goes on the handlebars. I’m going to add that but unfortunately unfortunately they were out of stock for the one that would go on the right hand side so I I have the mirrors adjusted as well as they can be but like other guys, my elbow is freaking getting in the way, but I’m gonna have to add the other mirrors and I’m sure that will help. I took it for a ride last night for like 2 1/2 hours in a crazy amount of fog and I realize now what fog does to the windscreen of my helmet it was not helpful. I had to freaking drive with the helmet open the whole time and as a result, they couldn’t drive that fast and it was cold but I made it and of course it was completely dark but I have to learn how to ride in the dark I figured, but yeah why not let’s learn how to ride in the dark and the fog at the same time if only it was raining that would’ve really helpedactually it was snowing that would’ve been even better. Let’s just learn how to ride in the worst possible conditions, right?
I think the CB500X is a better overall bike than the Rebel 300/500 because of its seating position and wind protection. The Rebel 500 uses the same motor, so they will have roughly the same "personality", but the 500X is light years ahead in terms of comfort and usability. That's just my $0.02, though. 😉👍 --QM
