Rookie Cop Lies on the Job Gets Arrested

- @Copwatchtv obtained body camera and 911 footage of a Ruidoso Police Department rookie officer lying about a break in at his house.
At the start of his shift he was told to go home and shave. He stopped at Wal-Mart to get supplies to shave. He came home to his house to shave. He left the house and forgot his body camera. He kicked his door in to retrieve his body cam. He proceeded to call 911 to report someone had broken into the home.
Investigators from his department were quick to realize the break in was done by the rookie officer.

my first guess was like everyone else’s but then the detective tells him when stuff like this happens, he should’ve called his partner to fill him in on why he’s MIA. Sort of implying that his absence wouldn’t be common knowledge to the other employees and that it might cause some problems if he’s not there, especially for such a foolish reason. Then it occurred to me that if I’m picking up what the detective is putting down, this was likely a way to just take the day off/cover his ass after he showed up with dirt on his lip and then got reprimanded and told ‘to go back home to shave and then come back to work,’ you know what I mean? I’m sure his supervisor wasn’t jumping up and down in excitement from having to tell rookie to go home and shave, and the rookie didn’t even buy shaving stuff from walmart, just candy. It seems he was buying himself extra time to just dilly dally and then because he was so focused on his dumb plan to meander as long as possible, he locked himself out, and out of stupidity; saw it as the perfect opportunity to seal the deal on this whole debacle. He didn’t realize it was actually the final nail in his career’s coffin. If it was an attempt at fraud then it’s even dumber. Like others mentioned he’s no Scrooge McDuck, so him wasting time off the clock and ultimately getting himself fired with this whole debacle really defeats the purpose of saving a few hundred bucks by claiming casper the friendly ghost broke his door down but didn’t steal any of his junk.

You can be a cop at 21 but u can’t rent a car tho. 21 is too young to be a cop imo.
Can enlist in the military at 17.
I know! Who hired him??
Early on in my LEO career, the agency I started with didn't get hire on unless you're 25 YO+, recruitment after passing Bat/ACA/PA Test/preliminary background w/psychological evaluation/selection, but attending academy was waiverable at 24 years plus 3 months, with nine months academy (2 months FTX/OJT). If your FTX evaluation gets a pass with no remarks or remedial, you moved on to graduation, and post assignment with one year probation. That was back in the late 1970's, but I already had 6+ years military under my belt, so age requirement didn't matter for me. The agency policy took male maturity of 25 very serious, and didn't certify anyone under 25 YOA, same with the tri-state laws peace officer certification & licensing. Seems some agencies dropped their standards, and its costing them both financially and man power. Mil/Leo Analyst Ret.
I’m not sure if the older detective said this but at 21 I was a monster compared to this young officer 😢
This literally should’ve been a phone call to his supervisor stating “hey corporal or sergeant, I know I already screwed up once today with the shaving thing but I was in a rush to get back out onto the road and locked my keys in my house” from there they would’ve advised you to either call a locksmith, kick in the door etc. worst you probably would’ve got is written up. Now you’re getting arrested and possibly losing your job. Also how do you as a rookie show up to a job that demands you be clean shaven and not be shaven. Like unless you’re in a specialized unit with relaxed grooming standards or have an exemption there’s no reason why that should even happen.

I’m pretty sure they don’t have a rash of kicked in doors in the middle of the day in some random broke azz apartment unit… and with no other people complaining of getting their stuff stolen seems suspicious 🤨 … that was probably his first clue… and since he’s been a cop longer than this kid has been around pegged his B/S meter…
“How the hell you get fired on yo day off Craig” 😂😂
Stealing boxes. (I think he wanted to build a clubhouse)
Apparently you’re as bright as this cop
@@radiorob7543it was ezelle. It’s him running with the boxes in the opening scene 😂😂
We watched the tape, it kinda do look like you 😂😂😂😂
He was stealing boxes...out his own house!!!😂😂😂
you know your fired when they make you strip on the spot
you're*

😂
That happened to me when I was a cable tech ten years ago 😔
@@chumblesthecheese8580I was about to point this too but remembered that I'm wanting to learn Russian...
21 is just too damn young to be a police officer. Few if anybody have the maturity to do it in the phase of their life
This has to be the wildest way to get fired.
And the dumbest way to end up in jail.
Stupidest you mean
For real!! what must be going through his head
kickin in ur own door 🤣
This arrest just saved the Ruidoso PD thousands of tax dollars in potential future lawsuits...
Or gave them a lawsuit. It looked a tab fishy. Departments don't go this hard on their own
Millions*
Amen!
Thousands? Bro, Lawyers wouldn't even take the phone call for thousands. Millions of dollars was saved here
Exactly
I got fired from my job as a police officer today! Why? I kicked in my own door and reported it to the police.
Did he ever say WHY he did it??
@@meghanmisaliar The video tells you at the start.
@@gteazwell ya it does but it still doesn't make any sense to me...think that's what they meant
@@BurntMcgurnt exactly. It makes absolutely no sense!!
But why tho
Imagine getting arrested, fired, and kicked out of your home, all within 30 minutes of a phone for pathetic lie. All three by your boss no less.
Detective's like, "Son, you gotta be in this business at least 5 years before you start making false reports...."
Facts.
Foreal 😂
You got it! 👍👏👏👏
Uh, when did he say anything even remotely like that??
@@aeriagloris4211they’re just making shit up. They don’t realize 98% of cops are good people.
At that moment he REALIZED those were real cops and he wasn’t 😂😂💯
😂😂😂😂
He is absolutely unqualified 100% to hold the position of a police officer.
Agreed
Along with many others.
He is 100% qualified to police the Latrine at Dunkin’ Donuts 😂
Totally qualified in 2024
They gave that guy a gun and police authority without the shaving “incident”, he’d be on the street patrolling. Let that sink in. 🤔
This shows how low the standards are in some places to become a LEO.
Why would you lie about something like this.
rofl Just say you locked your keys in the house with your bodycam. end of story.,
Because he’s a liar.
@@Brotha00more like because he's mental
Its an addiction to Lies
I'm curious if it was like a power trip. "I'm a cop so I can do whatever I want now". Clearly something wrong with him if he thinks this would be acceptable.
That Boss cop made me feel like I was in trouble 😂😂😂
haha
Right?! Lol
The moment he said how do you think I’ve been doing this job for
@@SeanM2296yup 😂

What’s scary is they gave a person this imature a badge and a gun.
Ya big time.
No joke!!
At 21
Yup. Happens all time.
Happens over here in UK too. We used to have standards, minimum height & fitness requirements. Now they give the job to literally anyone.
The real ones knew he was lying when he said he used tap pay at Walmart. Walmart is literally the one place that doesn’t have tap pay
What the fuck is tap pay
@@Carl_McMelvinyou tap you're debit/credit card on the reader and it reads the chip and pays automatically it's very useful.
He was given a gun and a license to police citizens . Smh.. let that sink in
and people with this same thought process can VOTE, DRIVE, etc. not saying they shouldn't have that right... but puts into perspective how dumb most people are lol
A chilling realization. Also remember the other officer saying it isn’t the end of his law enforcement career 😂
@@superdoopercooper1962 lol "It's not the end of your career, I see supervisor potential in you...."

what does that mean?
