I realized that I was brought up more Asian than Mexican and even less American. I'm currently trying to learn Mandarin and Korean 😁
Racism has always been the center point of the United States Corporate of America and also ignorance. America is a continent and not a country. So Mexicans, central and South Americans are also Americans along with Canada. They been calling Mexicans illegals even before the anglos stole half of Mexicos land. Imagine calling a native an illegal immigrant by the real immigrants who came from Europe? The u.s best weapon has always been propaganda thru tell-a-vision.
I feel you. Korean and Puerto Rican born in the US, briefly raised in Korea and the rest of my life in the States. It's hard enough being raised between two cultures, much less 3. And yes I know that Puerto Rico is a US territory but the culture is still completely different. Korean was my first language but I did lose a lot of it along the way. One struggle for me is Koreans looking at me and not accepting me because I don't look the way they think I should. I mean in the long run it really doesn't matter but at the same time it shouldn't be like that. It's sad that people of my own race are racist against me
My cousins are also half Mexican/ half Japanese. One of my aunts married a Japanese Mexican who is decedant of Japanese refuges who fled Japan after the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. We are indigenous Mexican so my cousins look asian asf. Native mixed with Asian and you get someone that looks Asian.
As a Mexican Born/US raised kid I was clear about one thing.. embrace whoever embraces me. Never chased what/who rejected me and chose who I wanted to be regardless of what anybody thought. Comes with being the black sheep of the family. As a result I created a lane for myself which attracts a lot of people onto my circle with the key benefit that I choose who I let in.
