Amavasya is the tithi (तिथि) when there is no moon on that night, the moon is not visible on that tithi. when moon itself is not visible, then there cant be a lunar phase (शुक्ल पक्ष / bright half (fortnight)of lunar month /valarpirai & krushna paksha / teipirai) on that tithi. The Shukla Paksha refers to the fortnight that begins with Amavasya (bright half of the month).
Namaskarams : on doubt - 3 generation names on father’s side = 6 names are clear . On mother’s side , on similar count , grand father + gm and their parents ( kollu thatha , patti ) total 4 names , since own mother is mentioned along with own father . So total comes to 6+4 = 10 , considering great gf and great gm on both sides . Pl clarify . Namaskarams

Mama if there is no other theetu, we can do morning Sandhyavandanam without taking bath ( just after facewash etc)
mostly sastras prescribe doing sandhya after bath. If not possible, we can do prokshanam of the theertham and then do sandhya.
