- The Aji-Do is the best ultra light fishing rod I have fished with, but it is not designed for trout fishing. I explain more in the video.

Great video! Which length of Aji-do did you go with? I am looking at a light power model in the 5ft 8 length however have a similar concern to yourself that the tip might be too fast. I am trying to find a bit softer of a rod at a similar price level which has more flex through the blank to fight some smaller perch, blue gill, crappy, etc. Thanks
No prob, I have 2 rods 5'8 and a 6'8. The tips action is actually quite slow, it's the rest of the bank that's stiffer, this helps for great sensitivity with tiny fish especially while jigging and it's tons of fun as well. Where it fails imo is in stronger current. If you haven't experienced very fast rods, try one first. It is totally my thing and I love fishing both fresh and salt water with it for anything nano/ultra light. Some people prefer more noodlely like blanks, both have pros and cons really. Tight lines!
I'm planning on using 3g of jighead + the soft bait .50g . Would it be fine? thank you 😌
Yes, I have found the casting limit to be around 3.5-4g. however the rod shines best with between 1.5-2.5g. total weight. Good luck!
I find most of the answers i want from your video thanks alot ... i was thinking to buy the same rod but know im not because i have already favorite white bird rod and its already for micro or ultra light jigging and i dont want another jigging rod ... any advise for ajing ultra light rod for saltwater shore casting lure and jighead? Thanks again
Thanks for the kind words! It depends on your budget, I love my 4 pc. 10g. Major Craft Crosstage and travel the world with it. I have anything from tiny groupers and scorpions to 4-5kg fish on it and it's always super fun. It's extra fast, but not as fast as the Aji-Do. With that said, the Aji-Do is my very favourite for light sea fishing, I own both the 5G and 1G versions and both are fantastic imo.
Thanks for the reply its kind from you helping others and commenting back.. yeh now im between the major craft 1G Aji Do and the triple cross ajing S682AJI .. mostly im using minnows lure and soft bait .. so what do you think between those both rod
I have never fished with the Triple Cross, but I know it's a heavier rod. Depends on the fish you target and the size of your lures really. I love light stuff and I always prefer to go the lightest possible for the fish I am after.
Lets agree that we are talking 1g to 7g lure and soft bait ..the triple cross can handle 0.6 -10 g and the 1G AD1-S622M can handle 0.6 - 5 g i never mind for ajing rod to be not more than 90G for rod weight nothing mentioned in major craft website about the rod weight regarding the triple cross and other rod .. and to let you know i own 1G shore jigging 1002L/lsj and its really light and i love it.. but im confused about my next rod that it must be ajing rod .. i have many good and cheap and good ultra light rod for example crossfire trout ultra light rod and other but im still looking for an premium rod like major craft
@@ebrahim602 what did you get?
so as I understood this rod works good with 0.5-2g jigheads, but it does not hold fish good on blank yeah?
The rod is great for jigging, light rock fishing and perch. The issue with trout is that they are too dynamic, do runs and jump a lot, and such stiff rod doesn't provide enough control over them.
I use a herkula area trout rod 5.8ft 0.2-2.5g rod for my trout fishing it's stiff enough to set the hook but its parabolic thru-action means I hardly lose any fish 🐟
Having bought the major craft Aji do 5g I have to say that it’s vastly over rated and you can get better rods for much less money .
I have learned over the years that the definition of a "good rod" is very personal. Some like slower rods, some faster, some lighter, some heavier etc. etc. The blank of the Aji-Do 5G, the guides, the reel holder and the handle + design and manufacturing efforts and import taxes justify its cost, that doesn't mean that the value of this particular rod will be the same for everyone.
