I’m so glad you give the epilogue! I always see these things and ask “but do they last?” This isn’t much maintenance for one year of having a greenhouse!

Probably another week or 2 before an update! The plumber is currently working on the new bathroom while we start picking finishes and then an electrician has to come so I’ll share an update as soon as we can!! ❤️
Old Garage door panels with glass can be stacked & secured & do awesome… & if you want make some panels where you can lift them open in spring or summer! Rock or gravel floor…you can run a space heater inside!!
What a beautiful greenhouse! I learned the hard way about angles, greenhouses and plexiglass anything! I lived in a rain zone, we got some snow. I had no idea how heavy powder can be! ❄️ it cracked a bit on the side, and I understood why ALPINE ARCHITECTURE is roofed differently LoL. Ok so next time I know! I had a bunch of carnivorous plants out there. They were fine, I mainly used it for finishing my wheatgrass crops, temporary lodgers. My permanent residents were like …. Mom! Fix this thing NOW!
Oh... i thought the issue would be UV yellowing. And good heads up, how thick was it? Could always use some acryllic, makes gorgeous fresh water sump setups
I was going to say, wow that’s a really expensive greenhouse but I guess if you got it off someone that makes a lot more sense! Although that price is a good bit higher than it was pre-2020.
You guys work really hard on your house and I love that! One thing that could be cool is a jacuzzi that you could make inside the ppol or in a separate area, it would be perfect for Canada snow and winter!
Im so glad you live in Canada in a province where it snows. We just got an acreqge and im looking for ideas for our back yard. Im so subscribing to you because i know you are dealing with the same weather cindutiins reagarsing planting floweres trees and having a green house.
I also am living in Canada and am moved into our dream rental property in the country!! (Yay us! So excited!) the property comes with a green house that has been damaged by the last tenants. Hopefully they haven’t torn it down (I asked “please leave it! I’ll fix it!”) it’s made out of old windows and there’s more I can use to replace the broken windows. Will this make a good greenhouse?
You’re better off buying windows off or getting them for free from someone doing a renovation and making one out of that. It will be your best bet in withstanding Canadian temps either way the season swings.
I would suggest polycarbonate over plexiglass. They are both clear plastic like materials however poly carbonate is much more durable and withstands more impact. also your plexiglass will break down overtime in the sun and start to fog over where as the polycarbonate will stay clear for much longer allowing more sunlight in. The polycarbonate is significantly more expensive but I would suggest going to a glass distributor and buying it in bulk that way they will cut it down for you and you will save a lot of money in the long run. The poly carbonate may also be called Lexan

I love the "Art Noveau" aesthetic (which is also the Japanese aesthetic): if an object is FUNCTIONAL it might as well be BEAUTIFUL as well. BEAUTY and ART makes me FEEL HAPPY. The definition of ART I love best is "ART is that which evokes STRONG EMOTION": SIMPLY it makes the audience FEEL. I CANNOT help but feel HAPPY seeing your BEAUTIFUL GREENHOUSE. I ALSO feel the passion and love you invested in the design and construction phases. A very lovely SHORT. WELL DONE. The doors they had are usually called French doors where I’m from, so I was confused also! Fyi, in the USA, Dutch Doors refers to a door that is split in the middle horizontally, so the top can be opened separately, leaving the bottom closed, and are often used in barns so the top can be open for ventilation, while the bottom keeps animals in. French doors are the double doors that latch to each other, rather than being in their own door jams. In my experience, French doors like they had on the greenhouse are really hard to make seal and latch well, they tend to have problems like they had here.
I’m so glad you give the epilogue! I always see these things and ask “but do they last?” This isn’t much maintenance for one year of having a greenhouse!
It’s been totally great otherwise! 🪴
now i really want to see their whole backyard, all the things they renovated/make together, like its so pretty and aesthetic
From watching videos (at this point anyway) everything in their garden seems like it’s very disconnected, feel kinda odd
This how you learn. Had the fact that you were able to use a reclaimed door , BRAVO. Looks great.
What stain is that?! Love all your vids btw. 🥹
You should use polycarbonate sheets, it doesn't break like glass. BTW, the price has gone way to high because of covid ( glass shields)
Twinwall polycarbonate is great and has great transparency and rigidity
😮 That’s wild, over here all covid related materials went way down in price while it was full on

Where is the inexpensive stuff?
Polycarbonate will oxidize and yellow in the sun.
The door looks good for $30. I love discount and used home improvement stores. They have some of the craziest stuff for super cheap.
ReStore is genuinely my favorite store 😂 the mall is whatever, HFH and church thrift stores forever
Honestly, it looked really great with the replacement door. 🙏🏻
It really matches the tone of the wood so well, like it was designed to fit with that building
Honestly, my dad used a bunch of thrifted doors and windows to build his and repainted then all. It came out so nice and strong!
That’s the best way to do it.
And most cost effective.
@@ijustwanttosleepnow thank you! ☺️
What wood and treatment did you use? That color is amazing! I love the look of the entire greenhouse project.
Smart choices!!!! Giving the door another life was such a great idea ❤
i don’t hate the new door, i like how it matches the vibes of the greenhouse if you do paint it maybe a darker brown rather than a red undertone
Gorgeous job!
Plexiglass is actually not that expensive these companies are price gouging because of covid
I remember buying it for like $18/sheet in the 90s. It's crazy!!!
Would you share your building plans for your greenhouse. It is beautiful. ❤
Dope repair! Learned something new today thank you!
Thanks for the update and inspiration.
I love your video
❤🎉
I keep getting this account on my feed, I’ve asked for the plans or advice so I can build one as well but no answer. 😢
Love how the new door looks honestly! :D
The repair looks awsome ...using recycled doors is so earth saving ...❤
thrifting a new door instead is such a good idea, i wouldn’t have thought of that !
Stain/paint before final install, makes things easier.
You could add like a criss cross pattern inside the windows where they flex alot to prevent future cracks!
My dream ❤ 😅I’m just loving my mini plastic one at the moment 😅this is my dream greenhouse 😮❤🎉
Beautiful green house
awesome greenhouse. really cool story. you told it so well, i am so invested 😂
Great job! 👍🏽💯✨
Ohhh this is beautiful!! I’m in Canada too and a little worried about our first winter coming up. Primarily the snow load 😐 ❄️
It looks beautiful!
I didn’t know Habitat for Humanity had stores of thrift building parts lol
They have a lot of cool stuff I found a nice curio cabinet there
Nice job on the greenhouse!
Honestly I like yhe original door color as it matches the greenhouse
This video helped so much! When do you think your next basement renovation video will be out? I can’t wait! 😊

It looks beautiful. No flooring?
Very cool, informative and inspiring. Good things
How did your plants do?? Where in Canada? I am in Eagle Valley Kootenai Mountains BC.
🎉 😢 I don`t know, I live in Houston, TX!! 😢
It's beautiful ❤
Really nice job
Thank you Donna!
We want to see the plants grown and growing
acrylic expands/contracts more than polycarbonate, itll grow up to an inch /8'long sheet FYI
Wow
Nice green house.
Oh... i thought the issue would be UV yellowing. And good heads up, how thick was it? Could always use some acryllic, makes gorgeous fresh water sump setups
Looks great and great fix on the door
Thanks for sharing 🙂
I love all your videos❤️ you’re living my dream 🥰

Wow, all my Habitat ReStores are SUPER EXPENSIVE.
Beautiful greenhouse
it's still beautiful.
Greenhouse 2.0. BOOM!!
Beautiful!
Love it!💓😋
That is a very nice build hope it serves well
$30 that's awsome, it looks nice🙂
Nice green house
Plastics acyrlics stores also sometimes have scraps and cuts perfect for a project at decent prices

Here's a little tip you can take tape I would put clear tape and an x pattern on a glass this way if it does blow open and slam it doesn't shatter
Like the repaired ones better.👍
That looks awesome
What marvelous people you are...
I would like to see what and where you guys are!!
Thanks so much

Thanks for shopping at the Restore! I've been an employee for 17 years down in NC. Which store is that?
Love this
I wanted to know if you have the design? is to create one like that. I really liked how it looks.
I was like wow you built an expensive greenhouse with that plexiglass but then you were like wow😂
I could live in there!
Maybe use stronger locks or more than one...a good deep deadbolt. Locks are not a thing to cheap out on.
How are you keeping the plants warm during the winter?
I'd probably just get the glass that is appropriate for the winter.
Do I have weed barrier under the rocks? Oh man I want a green house yours is so cool
I'm looking to build an outdoor greenhouse here in Alaska...what kind of insulation did you use?
❤❤❤ gorgeous
It looks nice I'd like to have it in my backyard 😉

you guys are extremely handy, what the heck!
Woow.. buy a pineapple seedling. Or young shoot and pit it in ..it will do amazing inside
Hi i was wondering if you have plans for your beautiful greenhouse?
Yes, do the ceiling tiles open to allow air circulation?
Do you have any recommendations on its thickness? Also, what material is better for the frame? Wood or aluminum
Omg how do I build one of these I love it and I don't have Canadian winters
Good idea
You should buy tempered glass, amd have it professionally installed, especially if you're in a high wind area.
That's awesome. Make me some maters
Glad I live in FL. You spit and stuff grows
This green house is very beautiful! What Happened to the pineapple you were growing?
It’s doing great!! I’ll make a video in the upcoming weeks 🍍
I love plants and dont know a lot but am lucky to keep everything green and alive.
So how do you keep you greenhouse warm in winter?
