I told you years ago and I will tell you again, that you use the plastic kit as a canvas to express your refined level of pure art combined with technical knowledge, to execute every single detail with perfection.
You are able to bring to scale, the effects of light on collors, textures and volumes in an AMAZING way.
The way you do... I have never seen before, to date.
You deserve my admiration and respect, Mr. Song!
    Greetings from Brazil.

Really great result! I love brushing way more instead of airbrushing and I am always happy to see great models which were made only with brush

Very well done! I learned so much! Especially the fact that an airbrush isn't necessary to achieve great results. Video was well done an very informative! Someday I will try building some naval ships and I will definitely need to come back to this video to remember how its supposed to be done.

Yet again, it never ceases to amaze me how you never cease to amaze me. At least you have video proof to submit when no one believes you did that paint job with a brush. Nice to get a video out of you as always; hope you're doing well, and have a great weekend.

My thinking is simple. First, paint the materials as they are straight out of a factory. Metal. What kind of metal..
It was better to do this method on a hull with hard edges and rivets like Masterpiece Models 31" Disney Nautilus. I'd hit those hard edges with the side of a small brush using the amazing Testors Gold enamel. When whatever treatment went over the surface, (but always water based) I could always find those edges by simply wiping at them.

The painting technique (diluted acrylics applied with lighter and lighter shades) is one I've seen used by Spanish figure painting masters such as Raul Garcia Latorre. Ebroin's demo from 2:52 onward is an excellent primer on the technique, and anyone thinking of getting into figure painting would do well to try out the technique.

      I use Hwa Hong brushes.
      global.gmarket.co.kr/item?goodsCode=328351166
I use them because not particularly good or anything, just I can get them very cheap here, in Korea.

Great job! I note that you use a wet pallet. Do you put there paint straight from the bottle, or you do extra dilution with water/thinner? How transparent paint do you use?

  • @MannyXVIII

being absolutly new to this: How did you attach the "bride" part to that paint cap? Just glued it to it and later removed the glue carefully with some kind of razor?

I notice that the first coats of acrylic primers tend to bead-up on the surface, as if the surface was contaminated....normal?
    This is really pretty epic.

Damn, your brush painting skills are truly insane. I gave up on brush painting a long time ago, since my results were completely atrocious.
As a sidenote, I believe the model is a bit wrong, since I am pretty sure that the VIIC41 was never fitted with a net cutter.

If you put "surfacer" on a submarine, wouldn't that keep it from staying submerged. ..? Just kidding. ..!

  • @lancearn7332
    @lancearn7332 2 роки тому

    Impressive.
A lot of work has gone into painting this model, but to me it is more reminiscent of 1970's Yamato anime colouring style.
I am inclined to be more realistic in my painting style, and I have a preference for enamel paints.
