    Hey Norm,
Very informative & picked up a couple of good tips. As you know after sharing a coffee onboard with us at Lake Mac we have a sports cruiser & the area to stand at the stern is limited for 2 people when docking. Our priority line is always our stern line. So much easier setting the line on the stern boat cleat & tying off to the same to create a loop that we can just drop over a jetty cleat instead of getting off to tie off on the jetty before securing the boat.
    Cheers m8 great tips 👍🏻

Thanks Norm, very useful. I really like the having the rope doubled idea so you can throw over a cleat. I can see this idea making the job much easier. Great video.

I use a breast line amidships.
This alone can be used for a short stay of a few minutes.
An amidships breast line secures the vessel in a manner that neither the bow or stern can move away from the dock.
For a longer stay, you can now take your time adding other lines.

Yep ..I prefer a spring that I can put weight on and pull the old girl into the dock. Especially with a bit of wind.
      Thanks for commenting Dude.

That was a great video norm and very informative.
Practice makes perfect and one of the most important manoeuvres one can practice regularly in all different conditions to ensure the safety of their vessel and others.
We were in Townsville Marina and saw a fellow get in a tangle and then lost all power and then had ride taking them toward the rock wall. Quick thinking of a old salty had their boat tethered to the rear of a docked vessel just to hold while they sorted the motor..
wind and current along with vessel characteristics and quirks makes it different for all vessels.
