My favorite driver is Carlos of course. I followed his career pretty much from the start. Carlos is so lovable that he has this talent that brings out pretty much the best in their teammates. I've seen how he treats Lando like a brother during (and after) his stay in McLaren and now, with Charles in Ferrari. Pretty much cheering on Carlando as a Tifosi with my Papaya heart. They had such great chemistry. It’s hard to even logically put it into words but sometimes two people just have that chemistry that works and everyone can see it.
The thing that makes this one so special is that on track friendships, even with non-competitor drivers, is rare. But with team-mates it is non-existent simply due to the nature of the sport. Nico and Lewis were childhood friends and they lasted 1 year together before that broke down entirely.
So to see Carlos and Lando become very close friends? Unicorn sighted.

Another pairing that works is Max and Daniel, still going on strong despite them no longer being teammates and unlike how they were portrayed especially the reason why Daniel left the team. They're not as famous as Carlando, but if i have to pick one driver Daniel is closest to, it would be Max. I remember the secret santa clip just recently when Max could guess immediately upon unwrapping that it was from Daniel because the two shared a memory of driving to get a cheesecake together one night. You couldnt fake that for the media.
I just think that Carlos and Lando have one of those seldom super close friendships that will probably last forever if the sport does not manage to destroy it somehow. They need no words or anything, they just work together.
With Daniel at McLaren now, that is a whole different story. I guess that him and Lando get on well. but they seem more like colleagues who can have a good time together.
I'd also go in the same direction with Charles and Carlos over at Ferrari - although I think they might share a bit of a closer bond, still, as Carlos seems indeed more outgoing than Lando and will gel better in a new environment and with new people such as Charles.
Carlos Sainz!! Ever since he debuted in Australia 2015 I knew he was something special, although it would take some years for people to realise. Especially being Spanish, being represented by someone with such talent, integrity and just his personality, it's revived my passion for F1. Best wishes from Spain!

Thanks to my dad, the whole family is an F1 fan! At first, I don't get the whole driving around the same circuit but I've grown to love it and we look forward to watching the race every weekend. My favorite driver is Daniel Ricciardo because I feel like we have the same personality. Last season was a bit sad for his fans but I'm so glad he won Monza. Hoping for more shoey this season! Daniel's a great guy, highly intuitive but also slightly dominating. Whereas Lando is a full on details person. He naturally takes on a passive tone in Daniel's presence. Lando blossoms in the presence of Carlos because the latter is very chilled and not as dominant in personality as Daniel.

Hey, I am from Germany and got into F1 because of my dad. He would watch the race every Sunday in bed and that started a tradition because instead of standing up Sunday mornings to cuddle with my Parents and watch cartoons, we would watch the race. My favourite driver is Lando Norris💕 I like is energy and is happy vibe that he gives off. He seems like a person who is really Happy all of the time and just thankful to be where he is

Hi Kym. Thankyou for the Carlando content. I miss this pairing on the grid! Didn't think Max and Daniel could be beaten in the team mate goofball championship when they were both at Red Bull - I was wrong! As far as I'm aware, Carlando still play the odd round of golf together.
Have been watching F1 since the 60's with Graham Hill and Sir Jackie Stewart having fun on talk shows together, Schumacher and Hakkinen had their fun moments too, but the youngsters are really bringing a lot of fun into the paddock aswell as serious racing which is really good to see.
I had to pause your video when you said the line, "One of the things you notice about these two young drivers is they're not yet jaded!" I laughed my socks off at that!
I'm in the UK and my favourite driver is Max Verstappen. In my opinion the next Schumacher but better! Thankyou for all the vids you post, always good content.

Thanks Kym for sharing this with us! completely agree with your opinion on DTS blowing the rivalry out of proportion. Their friendship has been something we as spectators really enjoy watching! I only wish their partnership could have carried on but I feel like it ended only to see both drivers do exceedingly well in the Driver's Championship. Hope they keep that and their friendly antics up in the coming season!

Vettel is my favourite, and I would love a signed picture of him! he ofcourse had some stunning years at Redbull with multiple broken records, but despite dropping down the rankings in the last years, you can see he really knows how to push his car to it's full potential. I also love the fact that he always keeps his spirits up and uses his influence for better things such as fighting for equality and climate change. I am from the Netherlands!!

I am 17 and been watching F1 since I was two (2006) and I have never seen as strong of a friendship it reminds me a little of schumacher and Sebastian relationship but in a different way as those two where more father and son .lando and Carlos had a real friendship like brothers and they soon became my favorite and my list when up by loving Alonzo Kimi Seb to Lando and Carlos what a great team they made !

Got introduced to F1 last year because of DTS and the more I watch the races, the more content I consume beyond the current season. The sport help me cope with COVID depression. Super love your content Kym! My favorite driver is Carlos because I see myself in him, easily overlooked because of media favorite partners but very very hardworking and consistent. I'm from the UK! One of the big reasons why i carried on watching F1 in 2020 was the carlando bromance was great to see them be able to separate their feelings on and off track so well, Lando is definitely my favourite driver.
I am a big F1 fan, however my 16 year old brother is a HUGE F1 fanp. He has started to collect the driver cards, however still hasn’t managed to catch his favourite, Lando!
