    I'm a German and I habe several Lamys, I think nearly everyone in Germany had at least on for school. M is standart size here and I really like the Lamy fountain pens❤

    Very pretty! I only have one Lamy but rarely use it, didn’t love the writing experience but I feel like maybe I should revisit it 😅

    Thank you for sharing!! It’s a beautiful green. I have the Lamy Marron. I haven’t used it in a while. I’ll need to look for it and use it for work or something. I’ve been using my Pilot Elite and my matte vanishing point pens 🖊️ the most lately. 😬

      The vanishing point is so good! I can understand why the Lamy has been pushed back

    I've just ordered mine from Japan, Jasmin; obviously, slightly pricier, given it is a Ltd Edition; not so concerned about the Kanji nib per se, but it'll be an interesting cultural foray, using both sides of the blade - I tend to use broader nibs for Asian calligraphic styles. For me, the main attraction is the Bamboo green colourway on the pen's cap & barrel - green being my favourite colour. Safaris have a divided consensus in popularity - personally, I love them.
    All I have to do now is wait for that parcel to drop thru' my letterbox !
    Enjoy your new acquisition !
    Best,
    Andrew.

      Green is one of my favorite colors as well! It was definitely hard to pass this up! I am particular with shades of green and this one fit the bill. I hope yours arrived safely and you enjoy it as well!
      Cheers to matching pens!

      Hello again, Jasmin; my pen is still in transit from Japan, but it is expected within the week - no-one in Europe, the UK or Republic Of Ireland (my home country) has been able to sell it - seemingly, a writing instrument not readily available in the West ; that you have a good friend who, out of the goodness of their heart, made a conscious purchase on your behalf, is rather wonderful. I (also) favour certain shades of green - the electric fluourescents I tend to avoid - signal, I consider, to mine own understaed aesthetic. I'll let you know when my Ltd Edition arrives. Enjoy what remains of your day,
      Best,
      Andrew.

    this is such a pretty green! i’ve had a few Lamys, sold them all then rebought the cream one recently. i have an abnormal pen grip so the grip section is a little uncomfortable for me, but i still like to use it now and then!

    I own several Lamy Safari fountain pens and I love them all! The first pen I bought was an AL Star and I really liked it and many years later started to try the Safaris and fell in love with the design, the way they feel in my hand, the variety of colors and availability. I have terrible penmanship and my handwriting looks better on a calligraphy nib and I have changed most of my Safaris ti the 1.1 nibs. I really love you Safari!

      I am curious about their calligraphy nibs since they are so easy to change out! But I hear since they are so inexpensive, the quality control is not the best so there can be a lot of inconsistencies in getting a good nib.

    I love the Safari for its simplicity and writing experience, but it being the default choice for everybody in my school time (myself included) made it seem less like a serious pen for me as an adult somehow. Maybe I need to get a new one and see if I might not get into them again! Especially since I am one of the people that loved the grip.

      I’m curious to know where you grew up that fountain pens were used in school! I think that is great. Definitely would have been a more cost effective school supply than having to purchase disposable throughout the year.

    Started off my fountain pen journey with a Lamy but did not enjoy the writing experience….might have been the ink/pen combo. I’ll probably try to use it again.

      I find that the beginning of a persons fountain pen journey includes a lot of quick turn away. We try a pen and immediately don’t like it, try something else. For me personally, now that’s I’ve had some variety, revisiting the brands I originally wrote off, feels like a whole new experience!

    That gold clip is 🤩 Have u ever tried 1,1 calligraphy nib? How was it compared to the kanji nib?

    • @journalwithjas
      @journalwithjas  2 місяці тому

      I have not tried Lamys 1.1 calligraphy nib. I imagine it would be hard to compare to the kanji given a significant line width jump!

    • @dgmojojojo
      @dgmojojojo 2 місяці тому

      @@journalwithjasi really like the 1,1 nib width difference on my handwriting compared to the F/M nib

      @@dgmojojojo true! I have a 1.1 in another pen and the flair it adds to any handwriting is beautiful! I like it so much I get other nibs ground to cursive smooth italic to get the same look!

    I started with a Lamy and actually went back to a pilot g2 ultra fine just because I found that for my use case the fountain pen was not very practical. I've been making more time recently to write and want to get back into writing more with my lamy so i'll be getting some more ink today!

    • @journalwithjas
      @journalwithjas  2 місяці тому

      Ink really makes all the difference! I could have a beautiful writer and premium gold pen but if the ink isn’t great, it won’t get picked up! I hope you find an ink that gets you to write
