- My Flair Magnatilla's post restoration maiden...
First of all, Happy New Year to all viewers and also a BIG thank you to subscribers, reach over 1000subs a few months back so very grateful for that.
Its been a while since my last video but that's because hobbyking have been keeping me busy with new products etc, so its not all bad news. On the personal RC front, I made a vow to get my Magnatilla finished before the end of the year and I actually did!
Check out this final part of the RC restore vid for all the details.
Stuart.
Nice to see that finished up and flying
Beautiful plane, nice flying - including landing. Very pleasant video experience, also thanks to an excellent camera. Thank you very much!
Beautiful bird my friend and one amazing video. Perfect. Thanks for posting and big salute from Slovenia, Pilot Robert
I love the old Maggy... like all Flair kits...great fliers..mine is also due a refurb...it's got an SC 46 two stroke but am going to stick a 4 stroke in it..👍👍👍
Lovely, thank you.
Beautiful job! Sounds and looks amazing! Gotta love breathing new life into these models.
Perfect engine note for the model. Wonderful work Stuart.
I think so too ;)
That is way overpowered, the old 40 fs presurpass is a match made in heaven
lol, and I get upset when people put 60FS in them :D
Just the job that 👌 I love four stroke nitro. Just bought myself the Hking P51B mustang and a brand new Saito 82b 👍. Thanks Stuart and Tom, happy new year.
Nice, that will be more than enough engine for that model for sure.
Beautiful model and tastefully restored, she looks and sounds great…love the smoke
Thank you sir.
Fantastic job Stuart. Can't wait for the Spacewalker episode 3!
Wowww this looks very nice plane!!!!!i like it alooooooottttttt!!!cheers
Blaž Petrinčič hello sir, yes I think you and I share similar tastes in models and engines 😉
@@stuartwarnerc yes i think we do ;)
Nice plane
Looks Great Mate. Looks even better in the air.
My brother also has this model with a 52 four-stroke Magnum engine. Unfortunately it is a lot of work to design it in the old original flair and to get it very rarely and only expensive as a kit in Germany. But the work is rewarded with a very good appearance and equally good flight characteristics. It's one of my all-time favorite models to fly.
Years ago I bought the kit from HK and also an NGH GT9 Pro, also from HK. Of course, the sound can't keep up with that. But everything is cheaper than the "original".
Nice job buddy! I need to get a WWI plane in my hangar someday!
JohnVHRC thanks, yes WW1 types are something everybody should try at least once in their modelling lives.
First one I had flew with an enya 35 pb, (it was a mark1 back in 1983) they were designed around an old OS 30 2 stroke. Second one had a 40 fs pre surpass and, as I said, it was ideal. That was transplanted into a vintage model and forever after I used TT 42GP with one of flairs custom dustbin silencers and 12x5 props. Overpowered sure but the throttle works both ways. But that one wasn't nearly as fast as yours.
Nice plane and flown nice and scale. I love four strokes. I have them in most of my planes. Nice video. Thank you.
Thanks. Yes I like them so much I’ll only use four stroke nitro engines actually. Could never afford 4 strokes as a teenager when flying so making up for it now 😉
Beautiful work!
ive had mine for 25 years with the same FS40 and just right ..
I was up there flying with you !
Great video
Thank you, that's nice sentiment.
Great job, turning disappointment into success! Well done Stuart
Really nice ...................
Stuart, happy New Year to you and your family. The plane looks fantastic after the big makeover and flies very nicely. The engine is made for the plane! Hope you will post a lot of beautiful videos this year.
Well done Stuart. Its a beautiful plane, and the sound. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, yes love that sound, then next one will be four stroke too, I’ve got a home for that Laser 100 now 😉
Happy New Year 2021 Stuart!
*after around 30 to 40ft of focus it is all Infinity, maybe for next time set to M mode to Infinity. This way the AF is not hunting back and forth w the lens.
Flies superb, maybe but just maybe, a few rpms older on idle. That is one cool birthday present.
Very nice plane and a good flyer too. I love this type of planes, especially if they are with glow engines.
Thanks Stuart and Tom. Nice to see the old girl up in the air again, congrats. And it was a great birthday present to yourself :-)
Thanks, if a somewhat late one seeing as I got it in June! But hey, that’s family life 😉
Nice to see it back in the air Stuart! great job :)
Nice!
Hi Stuart, Happy New Year mate. Nice job on the plane. Since you are back with HK maybe its a good idea to get the balsa kits from (rip)Top Flite in the HK package? I like to build planes and i sense you like tinkering :) Wouldnt be to hard for you to find the manufacturer of these kits i reckon , they are really nice scale kits and affordable too. Its a shame they arent for sale anywhere anymore. I know that the kids nowadays are more of the instant everything type of people, but there is always a percentage who still loves to build things. Anyways, great Video, nice Dutch weather :) and say hello to Tom please. Cheers mate.
Not possible to get the old TF kits, but kits are something we should definitely be stocking more of.
Good to see you back, I was beginning to wonder what had happened to your restoration.
Happy New year and stay safe.
Life in general happened, but yes, she’s finally done, now onto the next one ....
Wow! Really nice restoration Stuart. Looks great in the air too!
Cheers and happy new year!
Hey, thank you.
Hello, great series of videos that has inspired me to make a scratch build. Plan ordered from Derick at model plans. I like the colour of the Magnatilla on the video's. You said you obtained some oratex in that colour. Is it the antique colour.
Glyn Jones.
Hi Glyn, thanks for the kind words, and glad I could help with the inspiration. The covering is the 'satin' color BTW, but this is solatex, not Oratex.
Good job 👏
Thank you very much!
Great job on that one man! Looks, runs, and flies great! Glad to see you will still be posting (hopefully) on your personal channel given your new job....er...old job. Are you back at your old title? Durafly and Avios brand mgr?
Thanks, yes I want to keep posting if it’s of interest, but I can just make no promises as to the frequency of the updates.
Similar roll to before but with the focus on product dev and plane categories as my primary responsibilities.
Hopefully we'll see more of your channel this year 😊
But underpowered ? It's not a 3D plane and take off only took a few meters.
Looks really good !!
Yes hope so, as time allows. The comment on power was before I flew it, but as you can see, it has power enough and I’m more than happy with her.
Hi,where did you bye that cowl?
Inwood models, UK
Stuart can you please help me. I want a laser 4 stroke engine for seagull DH60 Gipsy moth ARF do I get 80 or 100 want fly scale but want power if needed some people say 80 and other people say 100 which one be best for me. If it's you what would you go with
Hi Lee, well below is one I found on a Saito 72, and that's really nice so a Laser 80 should be ideal. There is such a thing as overpowering a model and having a long ish nose I don't think the DH60 will need the extra weight of the 100.
I flew the Magnatilla again just this weekend, the 48Surpass is almost too much power. It zips around like a sports model at full power.
Anyway check out the vid and go with the 80 ;)

Thanks Stuart advice just what I wanted. Happy flying
I have yet to buy a used airplane that did not need major work. If you want it done right, do it yourself
What the hell, if it's fuel proof it's water proof. Fly it :)
Definitely not under powered
