Hello Irene. I enjoy your videos immensely and your easy manner in them. I love both mini quilts and your fmq. I noticed when you were fmq your larger quilt how you held the quilt. When I was learning it was taught to me to frame the section I was about to quilt with one hand either side of the section to be quilted. This way I had more control on the quilt. Once that section was fmq to then move my hands to the next section and start again. I hope that helps your viewers who are new to fmq. Happy sewing and keep yourself safe and well 💐
I am a sucker for free motion quilting! I love your patterns! You are gifted this way! Thank you for sharing! I will look for your patterns. 🧵 Sew Fun!!
Love the way you showed the contrast between the two quilting methods. I’m much more comfortable with straight line quilting, but I have been practicing free motion. Thank you for sharing this video.
I don't know how I missed this video. I love your loops. It looks so cool. I like how you accented the letters first. I'm not so good with free motion quilting. But people tell me just to practice 15 minutes a day and it will get better. Happy baby days!
I love to do both. FMQ is so much fun...and looks different all the time. But I also like the precise lines of straight line, walking foot quilting. That's why I'll continue to do both!!
Love the loopy bee flight FMQ stitching - AND SOOO appreciate the sharing of your learning process - Very helpful for those of us who sometimes feel nearly paralyzed by fear that we (I 🥰) cannot master a new skill. You teaching style and professionalism are Masterful. Thank you ❤️
i agree with what you say when you are doing something that does not turn out the way you think! it is a bummber but its also a postive learning expereince! :) thank you
I love both of these mini quilts. I made two bee blocks last week and they are so cute! I just love this pattern! I shared it on Facebook and Instagram, so hopefully others will be inspired to try it as well, although I only have a couple of friends that sew. I'm excited because I just purchased your modern letters pattern and I can't wait to try paper piecing. I know I've tried it before but I never actually completed a project. Can't wait to make a mini quilt. I enjoy your videos and I love your quilting style. I haven't tried free motion quilting yet, but I do plan on trying it soon. I'm nervous and excited. You made it look easy in this video.
I usually do straight line quilting because I don't get nervous about messing up. I do love the look of the Bee Kind one though. So I guess I will have to learn and pull myself out of my comfort zone.
Yay! Yes go try it out :) It's soo much fun when you get the hang of it. Don't get discouraged when it doesn't work out the first time, with practice and time you'll get there!
This looks beautiful. So cheerful the design and colours. That's something new to me and great to know is the bar for guidance to stitch the next row. Thanks for sharing.
You just make me smile! 😃 🥰 Great teacher and instructions! I can’t wait to get the kit and get started! I’m going to display it in my sewing room so I can feel cheery while I am sewing!!
Thank you going through your steps and thought process. This tutorial made me so happy because your delivery is joyful and I have my first Bernina to learn so you are helping me so much! Your creativity is contagious and fun❣️👍
They both are so nice!!! I start to think of other phrases that can be created: 🐝 patient, 🐝 loving, 🐝 brave, 🐝 joyful (as Irene), 🐝 inspired, 🐝 yourself. How much top and back fabric is included in the quilt? Wondering how many letters can be fitted. And by the way, in which city do you live? 😊
Aww you are the best 😊😃 Those are great ideas for mini's! There is enough fabric included to make the letters for that mini (and a little bit extra in case of making mistakes while cutting. But I don't think there is enough to make extra letters. I you'd like a fat eight bundle or something like that with the kit, just send me an email and I will make it for you :)
@@Sugaridoo thanks 😁. It was really pleasant to read that I'm the best 😍. I have just (half an hour ago) finished my first quilt top. First block I made 6 years ago with idea to present it my friend and her baby. But then my sewing machine did not bring a joyful experience, so I pause the project. And now in this strange carantine time, when there is no other activities, I started to continue my sewing projects on my new sewing machine. I still love the fabric and project that I started for quilt. But change recipient - now it's my son. And he love it!!! He kissed the appliqued Dikkie Dik! I'm so excited and glad!!! Now I need to buy batting and back fabric. And I'm already thinking about few new projects: mini quilt for my friend, mini 🐝 quilt, quilt for my sister and quilt for my mom. And of course my oldest daughter will ask to make a quilt for her 😂 And I live in Amsterdam 😁. You said in one video, you have Craft Wednesday morning in the studio?
I just ordered the Funky Alphabet. Love it. :) At the moment I'm doing straight stitching on my quilt. But I want to learn the free motion quilting. I still have to make time for that, and just practice.
This reminds me that I need to practice my free motion quilting. The reason I bought a Bernina was to use the stitch regulator but I've only tried it once. I should play more!
I am so impressed with your quilting and your bernina! I have always been afraid to put a different bobbin colour in (especially white and orange 😳), but I can’t see any orange that came through to the front, very impressive, might have to play on a bernina 😉
Haha there was a tiny bit of orange in the first line of stitches. But it's very easy to adjust the tension on the screen which solved it. So I guess Bernina does make is easier 😄
Hi there! Have you ever done a sampler or quilt on SUMMERTIME FUN IN THE SUN? I think this would be something bright and uplifting. During the summer it is so pleasant to see the children out playing and having fun in the sun, so to speak. I'd love to hear what you think of this idea. Be happy!
Beautiful, cool and funky patterns and colors. Thanks for the free patterns. Which model of Bernina are you using? And what is that foot you are using for the straight stitching? BTW I feel the same every time I sit down to do my free motion quilting. Like with every quilt I do, I learn something new. It helps to remind myself to just Breath! I also put classical music on when I free motion quilt. Helps keep me relaxed. ☺️ yours looked great!
Hi👋 I was wondering what type of thread you used on the top of Bee Kond? It looks nice and thick yet you didn't use a double stitch ( I subby know what a thicker st is called hahaaa) I love the look, how it stand out!! I was listening I don't believe I heard that mentioned. But I could be completely wrong hahaaa Thank you so kindly.
I am also doing this pattern (I bought the classic alphabet pattern awhile ago and have used it several times - love it!!). Question though - any tips for putting the letters on an angle? I have everything sewn and was hoping to see you do this part because I am not exactly sure how best to do that. Thank you!! :)
The super cool thing about the loop-tee-loop design is that it looks like the path of a bee's flight.
Haha yes, that's also what inspired me to make it this way :)
You have such joy and it comes thru in everything you do! I always get anxiety every time I start quilting a quilt. It’s so permanent! You did great

Both designs are so cute. I really love the straight line crosshatching. So happy to have found this video.

I love you being so honest about the stress if starting to quilt! Thank you ❤

I love the quilting on bee kind. 😊 when quilting makes me tense up I have a margarita. Haha.

Thank you so much for your wonderful comment Bonnie. Really makes me happy to read that 💕😃
Thank for you videos and inspiration. You are such a joys to watch
I prefer freemotion quilting for my quilts. Your friendly reminders to relax and enjoy instead of feeling pressured are so sweet.
i agree with what you say when you are doing something that does not turn out the way you think! it is a bummber but its also a postive learning expereince! :) thank you
I like both of them! I would really like to try the free motion quilting - I love the way the letters pop!
So cute! My grandpa was a bee keeper, so any time I see bees, I think of him.
Thank you! Ah I can imagine, wonderful way to be reminded of him

Thank you for not being perfect! You have given me the confidence to have a go (finally) at free motion quilting. I hope I am as good as you. Xx

I just pieced a mini quilt, and you have inspired me to try my hand at free motion quilting. Your quilts are darling. Love your videos.
Thank you so much. Yes! Go for it 😊 it's so fun to do
Congratulations Irene on the pattern and letters! How wonderful!!!!
Love both versions
Both are very cute. 💗😊💗

I bought your funky abc and busy practicing.
You just make me smile! 😃 🥰 Great teacher and instructions! I can’t wait to get the kit and get started! I’m going to display it in my sewing room so I can feel cheery while I am sewing!!
Love that so much! Such a happy mini to have on your wall. 💕

Ah thank you so much! That puts a smile on my face 💕😃
I love the free motion. And I too feel nervous when first starting a new quilt. I have only been quilting about 6 months, and love it. Happy quilting.
I will be trying that stitching on on the edge of the seams rather than in the ditch. Thank you so much!!
Love Funky ABC! Bought it! Thank you so much❗️❤️
Nicely done. Stay well!
I like the free motion. Both are great be the free motion seems more creative and freeing!

Yes! go for it :) I'ts so much fun to play around with
Both quilting look really nice! I'm a real novice with quilting, have tried strait lines and curls - need plenty of practise with the curls 👍😬😂
Thanks you so much! Yes it does take practice, but it's so much fun seeing improvements when you practice :)
I am so impressed with your quilting and your bernina! I have always been afraid to put a different bobbin colour in (especially white and orange 😳), but I can’t see any orange that came through to the front, very impressive, might have to play on a bernina 😉

Can we order the kits from the USA?
Yes you can😃
Could you please give me the prices for the United States? I'm interested in both of the mini quilts! So cute!
Aw thank you so much! The kits are 34 USD, the shipping is about 19USD.
(To find the conversion for something, I always type in google: '123EUR to USD', works like a charm)
