Don’t understand why there’s disdain towards this new season.. It’s a new setting and the new cast does a fine job. People just need some time to get used to it, I guess.. they have a lot to live up to!
I am willing to give it a shot because it is Kelsey Grammar and its Frasier , but I know deep in my heart , this series cannot hold candles to it predecessor.
Literally just finished wacthing the first 2 episodes. I LOVE IT!!!!! It's funny and it's fresh. I think Kelsey has another hit! Welcome back Fraiser!!
I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned here the name of the bar Mahoney's, is an obvious tribute to John Mahoney who played Frasier's dad in the first series.
It will be a success. Kelsey Grammer, if given good writing each week, will be a success. He is now allowing the new characters to be the more upfront because Kelseys full-force acting would up-stage the newbies at this early stage of the show. Give the reboot time.. It will be better than you can imagine now. Most all new sitcoms need a period of time to gain momentum.. Even Seinfeld had a to find their momentum. And.. Some of the characters who were not coming back.. may do so will once the show gets its footing and gets into more deepening layers of the supporting actors characters and the show gets into their groove. It's a tall order for these supporting actors.. Allow them time. Hang in there with them. The loyal fans will continue to appreciate and know this show will get better and better with time. Patience. 😊
I loved it. Freddy and Dave the cousin are cute. Hope there will be brotherly interaction. Cornwall and Dean are funny maybe a romance later? Love Frasier being a grandpa. Love the weird roommate. Reminds me of Daphne who seemed not to fit in but grew to be essential. Original Frasier episode 1 was awkward, but look how it grew. I really enjoyed finding out F as a senior. Hope Lilith visits.
I like that now Frasier is the father dealing with his son in Boston..martin dealing with Frasier in Seattle is what made Frasier such a great show...full circle. I feel like I have watched Frasier grow up while I grew up.
I love that Freddy had told all his friends that his dad was a dead pipefitter. Like Frasier has told the gang at Cheers his father was a dead research scientist.
…so far I LOVE the reboot of the FRASIER show on Paramount Plus Network. I watched it a FEW times and was LAUGHING my ### (i.e. my butt) off (and I have PLENTY of that)! so with that said: Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back … FRASIER!
I kind of like it, but it’s going to compete with Frazier reruns…! So that’s going to be rather tough on this new series! Naturally, Kelsey is immediately in character, but the young cast members don’t get it, because they weren’t around for the old series and probably only started watching the original Frasier series when they applied for a part in this new one. However, with a bit more practice, Daphne and Niles’ son David will be a very good physical comedian, in the John Ritter school. I think it has got potential, but perhaps Freddie and his not-girlfriend are miscast. It’s a pity that David Hyde, Pierce and Jane Leeves did not want to return to this Frasier series. They’re into other things and do not want to reprise their old roles. There were indeed some laughs, but it’s Kelsey, who had to draw them out and and I found myself saying, “Wow! this Kelsey Grammer is still a great actor.” So we’ll have to see - it’s got young people meant to attract younger audiences, but those are not going watch in the first place… so I don’t know if how long this is going to last. As someone else said, if it folds, it’s because of the supporting cast, not even the storyline, which is quite fun. It’s the cast that must make it believable, though. David Hyde Pierce actually did steal the old show and Niles was the perfect foil to Frasier, and there is no one now to provide that same level of connection as actors playing off each other. We’ll just have to wait and see. I wasn’t sure that this venture was going to make it when I heard about it, but I certainly wish Kelsey Grammer and this venture great success. Just have to give it time!
It was better than I thought it would be, but for God's sake ditch the damn laugh track. The audience for Frasier can appreciate Grammar and the cast without idiot "sweetening".
@NicoleCzarnecki I just found that out, and I'm really surprised. The laughter sounded canned, which makes me think it was a bunch of goofs who were reacting to those studio signs that tell them the time for APPLAUSE. I can't imagine an audience made from viewers of the previous series would find this new stuff so laugh out loud funny. "Filmed before a studio audience... that had no shame."
@@RABacct , to be fair, it was right before the WGA strike with increasing uncertainty as to how the SAG-AFTRA and the WGA temper tantrum would affect the “Fraiser” reboot.
Sorry, did not have one LOL for me in episode 1 & 2 - whereas in the OG Frasier series I regularly had several LOL in each episode. If they are trying to replicate the OG Frasier (can see David is a mini-Niles, and Freddy is a younger Martin that Frasier has to adjust to) - I just don't see myself following the series, trying to get LOL moments based on Frasier's pompous character won't do it for me. I wish the reboot would go in a very different direction - a serious drama, with a touch of Frasier's humor, concerning university teaching, family, and fire department matters (drugs, homeless, mental, first responder, death issues). The moment when Frasier and Freddy talked about Martin gave me tears.
I watched the first two episodes and won't be watching any more of them. Did they drop the writers from the previous two shows? It has none of the sharp subtle wit of the other series or Cheers. Where in the h*ll is Freddy? Seriously, the actor who played Freddy originally still acts: not recasting him in his role hurts the show quite a bit. Kelsey is great as always but the other characters seem very one dimensional compared to the old series. And where the 1993 show nailed it out of the park on with the pilot (the writers knew it was a make it or break it episode) these two shows clearly were called in. Finally, instead of the air hockey table Freddy should have managed to get Marty's chair. THAT would have been a better tribute to his granddad
When this fails it won't be because of Kelsey! The supporting cast leaves lots to be desired. His friend Alan doesn't do a bad job but it's hard to watch the actor that plays Freddie (Although he did get a little better in the second episode) and the actor that plays his nephew is unwatchable. The writting is fine but let's hope they can get the timing together before too long.
Frazier has no one to banter with when Niles was there it was brilliant they would go back and forth about restaurants etc. now it seems to have come to skreetching halt....getting back to Radio is another thing that's it lacks and is very needed with the call ins !!
So so disappointed, the only down to Earth character is Kelsey, everyone else gives mediocre performance at best ,it is there typical predictable script and acting that is surrounding Frazier and I am sure they are not letting him release his natural sense of humor too much into his character for fear he will offend the cast mates !!!!!The typical rushed way they go in and go out leaves alot to be desired and humor is completely read from the script ,they are " Just there " to take the money
I love Frasier's male co-worker and I like Freddy okay. The rest of the cast can go. Freddy's roommate character and story arc is corny and not believable and Niles' & Daphne's son David is portrayed as a drooling moron. I knew they would go overboard with his character!
Absalutely terrable...iv watchrd 3 episodes...wowful..predictable jokes bad really bad timeing..and false backround laughter...no wonder david pierce didnt want to be in show..im so sad to say its total crap...

Just saw the first one… I ❤ it.

Welcome back Fraiser!!
Same here. It's really good, right? The dialog is well written and the actors all have good comedic timing.
Sadly, you’ll have to pay for a subscription to see the rest of the season. I think that stinks.

Give it time, like we did with Frasier.
It's perfect. It shows you can do movies and be you as you age. Fabulous! That's our Frazier.
Pilot episodes are always tough. Frazier will survive the take off and get on track.
I loved it. Freddy and Dave the cousin are cute. Hope there will be brotherly interaction. Cornwall and Dean are funny maybe a romance later? Love Frasier being a grandpa. Love the weird roommate. He’s not a grandfather.
Did I hear you say the name of the bar in the second episode was Mahoney's ?
Didn't catch that while watching ,
Nice subliminal tribute though .
I watched it and I loved it, I actually laughed out loud several times.
I like that now Frasier is the father dealing with his son in Boston..martin dealing with Frasier in Seattle is what made Frasier such a great show...full circle.

Did anybody else notice it was Niles' voice on the hockey table?
❤Absolutely Loved, Loved it😊
The fact that you have to explain the situation says it all. Get Joe back as writer!!!
Some of us have not seen it. I have no way to access it, so those details are quite useful for me.
It's perfect. I loved how Frazier personality is ❤the same

Bring Niles back. He was integral to the success of the show
the show unfortunately is not standing on its own laurels it has to be explained everytime a new episode comes out
Wing logo in the airport scene

It was taped in front of a live audience just before the WGA temper tantrum known as “The Writers’ Strike”.
The original show had a laugh track.

The actor who originally played Freddy probably wisely turned down the offer.
The writers from the original show are not involved. And it shows.

I thought the nephew clearly watched Niles and did his little quirky ways great
Niles where are you !!!!
still waiting to see this because it doesn't reach Ireland till tonight

Just can't get into this at all! It's like they took a run of the mill sitcom and dropped Frasier into the middle of it.
No mention of Eddie. Not even a photo. And where’s any mention of Martins wife?
NO!!!!
No, no, no, no, NO!!
Stop ruining my shows!!
