I'm a bit late on this one. But does the NTG5 really cut out the reverb as much as it appears to do in this video? No trickery going on or separate noise reduction in post? Because that's great if that's the case. Nice video btw.
Thanks man. I purposely didn't do any noise isolation or other audio adjustments (unless indicated). But the tests indoors are in my home which is much less echoy than a lot of the offices/gyms i've shot in so just because it worked great in my kitchen doesn't mean that it will be just as good in other environments. Sorry that it's not a conclusive answer :P
Hello, together with my friends we decided to record our RPG session and upload it on youtube. We're group of 5 persons playing togheather around one table. We got almost everything ready but still problem with sound. Im wondering how we can record 5 of us with good sound quality. I have blue yeti (i dont think this will be a good option) and behringer404 (audio interface for my guittar). One of my friends told me to look for shutgun microphone and that's how Im here :) Could you give me some advice will that microphone be optimal for our demand? I wanted to put that microphone above our heads on the middle of the table. Other option that i can see is some wireless microphones but im not sure about that.

The fact that the NTG 5 come with everything you'll need is a major plus in my book. It sounded nice outdoors too.
Great review! The noise cancelling of the NTG5 was fantastic!
Such an interesting review on the great range of mics at all different price points!
Thanks for this. Exactly what I needed to hear.
