DFDS Midnight Moves at Frederikshavn

  • Late in 2020, the ferry company DFDS added a stopover call at Frederikshavn their Copenhagen - Oslo roro ferry service. Since the north Danish port is located roughly in the middle of the route, the northbound and southbound ferries PEARL SEAWAYS and CROWN SEAWAYS meet at Frederikshavn every day around midnight.
    This video is a timelapse of vessel operations at Frederikshavn, where DFDS now uses the former berth of Larvik Line.
    In 2021, the service only saw very limited passenger and vehicle loads, because of the Coronavirus pandemic and subsequent travel restrictions.

    I'm planning my first trip ever to a different country and will be using this ferry to go from Frederikshavn to Oslo. Heading to Oslo for 17th of May in 2022. Thanks for the video & have a great day!

      I hope you'll enjoy your trip. Set your alarm clock early so that you can be out on deck to watch the ship's passage through the Oslofjord.
