I met Shonie at the MMA Expo in Toronto back in 2009. The dude is HILARIOUS. Everything you saw on TUF, it is real. The guy spent 5-10 minutes with each fan in his line. I asked him to do the Jorge Rivera impression and he started to kill himself laughing ad then did it. The dude is amazing.
Very knowledgeable with a ton of experience in the underground fight game way before The UFC existed. I met him at an event and holy shit the dude is on. Like you said very nice, a solid guy. But don't underestimate his fight IQ either. Dude is solid and been around the block way before there was a block.

Give these two a half-hour show each week and just let them play off of each other! I would tune in. I wish there were more characters in the sport like Shonie, Rampage, Mayhem Miller, Forrest, etc...guys who are colorful in their interviews as well as talented in the cage.
I remember during one of Carter's UFC fights, Goldberg said that Carter made it very clear he planned on winning world titles in MMA, boxing, kickboxing. That's ridiculous but this man in many ways is like the Voltaire of martial arts
He lost to Matt Serra on the show and was eliminated. He fought once in the UFC after the show. A decision loss to Marcus Davis. The ufc released him afterwards, and he went on to fight on smaller shows for the rest of his career
@SupaFlyBoyZz699 Have you ever tried learning MMA off a guy who can't speak english... i reckon it would be pretty damn hard and tiring.. even with an interpreter... sure a hell of alot of people would watch the series, but i can garuntee you it aint gonan happen until he can speak proper english by himself, the whole show is about helping find new talent for the UFC and training em.. it's pretty hard to train when you can't understand your coach very well
Still has my vote for the best spinning back fist ever in a fight he was sure to lose if it had of gone another 15-30 seconds against serra. He was getting his ass kicked in all three rounds then out of no where serra stepped right into a freight train that nailed him right across the forehead. Serra learned a valuable lesson that day.
