Emma, WHAT?! The ENTIRE _Tale As Old As Time_ song was about _mutual_ change. Belle learns to recognize Beats's efforts to grow and meets him halfway to show she sees him; the dinner scene being the perfect example or that. He eats like a beast, she's disgusted, he sees she's afraid of it then tries to use a spoon that he physically can't wield correctly. She sees he's trying, so she finds the middle ground and PUTS HER SILVER SPOON DOWN to both politely sip from the bowl. It's a perfect visual metaphor for adapting, growth, and mutual change in relationships.

This and Cinderella are the only live action adaptations that i like. This being the top. I like that they made their Beast more relatable to Belle. To show that he also loves to read explained why Belle and Beast connected. It made the Beast on the same intellectual level as Belle. He maybe a Beast but he is smart. It elevated Belle’s standards in men. This showed that Belle is not attracted to looks but to intellect and character.
