I don’t think that’s what Belle learns. Belle learns that people who are angry and hurtful to others are just using a defense mechanism to mask their own pain and you shouldn’t give up on those people just because you’re afraid of them.
The whole “Belle” sequence in the beginning establishes that Gaston is absolutely beautiful and Belle cares nothing for him because of his personality. I don’t really buy this.

Was just about to comment on that. Belle learns how to recognize REAL and specifically Real Love. I'd also call that changing. They both help each other flourish. Beast is just as important for Belle's story and fate as she is for his.
If anything the beast allows belle to get out of her own head a little bit and actually connect with someone intellectually. Except for her father, she's never had that before. That sort of thing leads to better self expression and whatnot.

Emma, WHAT?! The ENTIRE _Tale As Old As Time_ song was about _mutual_ change. Belle learns to recognize Beats's efforts to grow and meets him halfway to show she sees him; the dinner scene being the perfect example or that. He eats like a beast, she's disgusted, he sees she's afraid of it then tries to use a spoon that he physically can't wield correctly. She sees he's trying, so she finds the middle ground and PUTS HER SILVER SPOON DOWN to both politely sip from the bowl. It's a perfect visual metaphor for adapting, growth, and mutual change in relationships.
I have seen Emma interview for this movie. It's almost like she sees Belle as totally different than me. She said her costume had to have a pocket for tools because she was a inventor. I know she helped decide what the gown would look like when they dance. Apparently many people were disappointed in the dress. It didn't look as wonderful as the one in the movie. I can't speak to the movie she is in. I have only seen clips.
I don't get why they dropped the idea of using makeup for the beast. They had a whole mask looking exactly like the beast we end up seeing in the film, yet it was never used

This and Cinderella are the only live action adaptations that i like. This being the top. I like that they made their Beast more relatable to Belle. To show that he also loves to read explained why Belle and Beast connected. It made the Beast on the same intellectual level as Belle. He maybe a Beast but he is smart. It elevated Belle’s standards in men. This showed that Belle is not attracted to looks but to intellect and character.

Can we all agree that Belle’s dress in the remake was atrocious. All the other costumes in the movie fit the time period and aesthetic, but Belle’s dress looked nothing like the original. It was not a flattering shade of yellow. It looked more like a prom dress than a ball gown from that time period.
The hardest thing of filming this for Emma was probs keeping a straight face when supposed to be lovingly staring at a beast but is staring at a dotted, swim suit looking guy 😂 Also I feel bad for him, he must of been sweating for hours! ❤
Belle does change. She judged the Beast & that just causes people to focus further inward and resist their own necessary change. It wasn't until she gave him a chance & decided to make the most of her situation that he felt he might be able to live a different life.

Can we all agree that Belle’s dress in the remake was atrocious. All the other costumes in the movie fit the time period and aesthetic, but Belle’s dress looked nothing like the original. It was not a flattering shade of yellow.
It looked more like a prom dress than a ball gown from that time period.
Yellow is definitely her color!

The hardest thing of filming this for Emma was probs keeping a straight face when supposed to be lovingly staring at a beast but is staring at a dotted, swim suit looking guy 😂 Also I feel bad for him, he must of been sweating for hours! ❤
Belle does change. She judged the Beast & that just causes people to focus further inward and resist their own necessary change. It wasn't until she gave him a chance & decided to make the most of her situation that he felt he might be able to live a different life.
