The worst part is that the gameplay itself is more responsive, creative and fluid than 2042… I don’t even hate this game. I’m just disappointed that it enjoyed it as much as I did

That's what started it, everyone copies anything that Blizztivision does and it tends to be profitable, therefore incentivizing this type of behavior and continuing the cycle. Also, because this is a BF 2042 ripoff and that game had characters, so this one needs characters too. Also also, it allows them to paywall OP abilities behind cool-looking named characters down the road when they start adding P2W stuff to the game. Arguably Nexon/Combat Arms started this trend in the F2P sector specifically, but again, Overwatch popularized character + exclusive abilities in one package, whereas the Combat Arms named characters mainly had better stats and a special gadget slot (iirc).

it's actually crazy how the UI and visual style solemnly makes it look BF2042. I think it's just time seeing Shatterline, battlebit, Xdefiant, Once Human, and WW3 being these big scale games being free to play.

They said they wouldn't include "Pay-to-Win" or any micro transactions that went against the theme of the game. So basically nothing like Fortnite characters. But they still will have things like skins for guns and characters, just keeping it "grounded".
I could see a battlepass for shit like charms and outfits/characters being successful. But something tells me it's going to be a call of duty type situation.
Because shotguns don't generally work very well at point-blank range. 16 inch barrel with buckshot, you need at least 10 yards for the most part, for a chest-sized pattern.
Temu battlefield is a perfect comparison because the company that owns this has a reputation for making knockoff games. It's clear this is just trying to be a better battlefield 2042 which isn't a high bar but it only barely meets it.
Everyone that downloads this game in 3 years: Guys, why's there malware on my system and what's this in the news about the CRP stealing a bunch of foreigners' data? I'm not risking it, but I hope people are able to enjoy the free game before the power creep starts at least, and that my worries are mostly unfounded. We had gear fear player egging in a corner for extraction shooter and we got players not playing their designated role in Conquest or Large team battles. I’ve played both and it’s brain rot. yes I’m the dude who had 24 average revive and the only one taking out the tank that’s farming the team.

Tbf playing carefully makes sense in extraction shooters and in battlefield you rarely have people playing their class, you have medics charging into battle instead of staying behind a bit to heal and mg gunners/resupply guys not providing cover and suppressive fire or give ammo

Like a weird mix of "Someone (Or someones) had a dream here" and "Corporate said to fill in these check boxes or they won't publish it" and "That same person(s) who had a dream just watched it crash into reality." Where it's serviceable, but... Whatever gem was hiding in this game got thrown out and destroyed being told to anyone with passion "You don't need that gem, it's worthless" creating this a subtle thing of dread, I can't unsee, and really hard for me to look at.
About the "Short" body armor, that's actually realistic because if it covered your stomach it would be uncomfortable and hard to move it. Even in medieval times their armor only went about that far, but they had articulated armor to protect the rest of their stomach as well.
Correct. Body armor goes down to around the belly button. But you still want something flexible covering the rest of your midriff to protect from scrapes and abrasions.
