It’s anticipated that the EV4 will share many components with the EV3 and EV5, which might mean production in China and the use of cost-effective and stable Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries, similar to the EV5 destined for local markets.
Kia Executive Vice President Woo Jeong Joo emphasized the importance of electric vehicles to the company's future back in January. He stated, “Electric vehicles are the biggest influence on Kia’s sales and profits. We plan to flexibly respond to market changes in the medium to long term. The EV3, EV4, and EV5 will be launched sequentially, and we are determined to make these three models successful.”
While pricing details are still under wraps, the EV3 starts at 39.95 million won (approximately $43,200). The EV4 is expected to be slightly more expensive, potentially starting around the $50,000 mark.
When production begins in 2025, the EV4 is set to make a unique mark as a small electric sedan. With the popularity of mid-size electric sedans like the BYD Seal and Tesla Model 3, the EV4 could be poised for success.
