Steve Allen's Cloud 9 club operated for most of its time at the old ballroom at the Grand Hotel before moving briefly to Priestgate and one or two other short term venues around the area.
I just missed the Gladstone Arms by about 4 years, same with The Shamrock by about 2 years... wish I'd have caught both... they seemed like great venues. I did see loads of stuff at Fiddlers and played there a few times in bands... I suffer from the same liquid induced amnesia.
