As a former SCR player, its sad to see SCR dying. I was once a player who loved SCR, had all the routes, almost all trains. And now, now in 2024, i play BR. Almost everyone switches to BR, including me. Some people get mad or sad in the comments, but its just because the truth hurts. -Midas
Bro changed his opinion so fast 9 months ago he put SCR in S in his British railway games and honestly i can agree but im still hoping that SCR can turn things back around with 2.0 and it seems like the development has been going really well they are posting a sneak peek like every week

I started playing SCR at the end of 2022, I personally liked the game but I faced a very annoying problem for many months, the game simply crashed on Roblox after a few minutes and this made it unplayable for me so much so that I disliked it. because of this problem, but fortunately in recent times this problem has disappeared and currently for me it is very playable

1) Lack of updates.
Yes, Almost 2 years of no update, but dude, they were bug fixing lots of stuff before starting 2.0 and ahem, ofc the trains breaking due to Roblox doing an update
2.0 is MASSIVE as it has 13+ Sneak Peeks currently. The Area Llyn-Edgemead is the main focus of the update. Almost all stations are getting an upgrade in that part. There is going to be a new branch line, a diesel one. New trains are going to be added. Outside the Llyn-Edgemead area, Stepford Victoria is being updated, All Trains will be meshed.
2) Community
Do i have to explain? Yes, there have been controversies, some SCR players are toxic
3) Devs.

The game peaked with 1.8. All downhill from there. Two factors that killed the game were Charlie leaving (for reasons which may or may not be true...!) which left the management and dev team directionless, and also the decision to reduce server capacity down to 30 players maximum, which has resulted in servers feeling lifeless as there is barely any traffic to be seen now.
Everything is sunshine and rainbows until you remember BR still has a lower player limit then SCR
the 1.8 release was peak SCR, but, its gone downhill ever since, maybe 2.0 can revive it, but i doubt it
i think the tracks are ok, i just want functioning tracks. but it would feel weird for realistic trains like we have

i prefer playing scr because progression is easy and i'm experienced (i started playing before br ) and its still enjoyable just maybe not the best.

As an scr fan since 2018 i gotta admit this is just the harsh and sad reality of scr in general, even though it isn't the very worst train game ever, and still has a decent concept, I think everyone just got bored of it and moved on to GCR, british railways etc...
Same routes, flaws and lack of realism with driving etc, the first time I saw this game it was great to play, because it was more simple, the paper trains, the old old leighton city and the game in general. Now I feel like the game tried to improve like GCR with next gen trains and upgraded stations, but it kinda felt forced and rushed in my opinion. It feels wrong to play at this point, but we grow over things and i guess we should embrace what we had then, lmao.
GCR is even more dead than SCR, people only play it when there's an update.
totally agree. SCR was a good game by 2018 standards, but as time went on the game didnt improve (apart from the train models being replaced every so often) but the track is all the same and the scenery is laughable in some places. the speed limits are unrealistic, acceleration is awful and the sounds are awful. They use all the complicated signalling and train info systems to hide mask the fact their game is nothing but a desperate attempt to keep a 5 year old game relevant.
It was good by 2022 standards
@@ccpro8047 what i mean is the 2018 version of the game was one of the best games but as the other games had massive overhauls (GCR Rebuilt the entire map from scratch in 2019) whereas SCR just kept rebuilding the stations every so often. so SCR is essentially a 2018 spec game in terms of the map
The game is also easy to make it more fun and not too hard like British railways. That game is just too realistic it messes up my whole computer.

As someone who joined SCR a year ago and has been playing br since release, I must say most of these points I do agree with. The sound and scenery are in my opinion the worst offenders here. Also the lack of realism got me quite bored of SCR but I still play it to this day from time to time.
BR always fells fresh to play with a lot of updates, the livery system and how the game looks, plays and fells can't be beaten by SCR.
It's probably because I joined SCR far to late to live through the peak and BR seems like that SCR peak for the newer people like me.

I played SCR 2 a year ago. And till now, I joined back. Everything is almost the same. So shit
I liked SCR for a while but the people in charge are power hungry morons who don't appreciate the little guys, tried to go through their Discord for help but eventually got shouted at and told I was in the wrong so I left and haven't returned. I don't think they know what they want (arcade/simulation) and appoint children (or those with the mental age of a child) to run it. Shame because I found it to be one of the better games on Roblox, I'll have to look into others.

Your forgetting that SCR was made for low end devices to also play it aswell. The developers don't care that it has bad quality models , they care that all people can enjoy it.
Just because you may have some high end gaming pc that can run games extremely smoothly doesn't mean you have to despise the games that you want to fit your standards.
I used to play SCR but then when i realised what charlie did was just not ok so i stopped playing, i may play it like for a few mins for nostalgia but thats it, when ever i stopped playing, thats when it started to die and fade away, one if the main reasons being the main youtubers went away from it, thats when the down fall happend, anyway, no clue if this made any sense lol.

Alright well I can see where you're coming from since the new trains look quite good but the thing is, when compared to a small br update, it seems SCR really isn't trying.
So SCR only added 2 trains that are just the same except they are on different operators and some small bug fixes in the newest 1.10.9
Now if we look at BRs 1.2.1 update, we can see they added:
A new Branch adding 3 new stations
A new variant for the class 90 that adds a Mk3 DVT witch drives differently with the different stats for more realism
3 new liveries added
And some bug fixes.
And they added some extra smaller updates right after the release to perfect it.
As we can see SCR is trying by still adding stuff, but it feels more them trying to just stay relevant and that is kinda sad tbh. Like it's been over a year since the last major update.
