I sent out a card to get graded. I previously had it graded by PSA and they gave it a 10 gem mint. AGS graded it a 9.5 which I like. It was pretty close but a little more strict than a human. Although this is a newer company, I'ma go with them instead of PSA. I hope they do upgrade their labels but I trust their grading more than a human.
Loved the tour experience, thanks for hooking us up with the info. Time will tell if they'll work out. Their slabs and labels look nice and clean and the AI should get better over time.
People have tested their grading. It’s just as inconsistent as people. Another hobby scam. You have humans operating the machine. It’s not fully AI. They’re already facing backlash, but they turn off their comments on their IG. Their ads are very misleading. They use “celebrities” to con people into using them.

PSA/BGS also have a huge turn around time and outrageous pricing. Their reputation is held together with the word of youtubers who grade thousands of cards a year (Bias detected) and the market follows suit.

I pay $35 per card at BGS and get it back in 30-35 days. Every business has its flaws, but AGS is just at fault as any other grading company

I don't see a perfect 10 ever coming out of a computer scanned card. Nothing is perfect and to have something micro analyze every part of it will surely find flaws in everything.
That’s why they use AI and not just a non learning program. Because it learns acceptable limitations since grading can’t be just black and white. Especially since other grading services have human error. They would have a hard time marketing if a 10 was completely impossible
I sent my optic rated rookie trevor lawrence on card auto blue in and got it back to day with a AGS 9.5, im very happy with how they do it and having the scans to see what is actually wrong my card, and how it got the grade.

Cool how they use air to grads but the stabbing process could be better because the employee had to tap on the slab to get the card in place which could potentially damage the card so the add where they have a guy saying the grade will be the same even if he re-submits the card is actually hard to believe
Looking through the comments, people gotta look more into this lol. Its not that expensive and its a good turnaround time if you ship it to them. I see the pros and cons though for both sellers and collectors. As a collector I'd want what would be considered the "perfect" card. But for selling, its a risk because grading through them, they could give you a lower grade and lower the value where PSA holds nearly/more value because of the name and more chance for a better grade. It is slightly cheaper ($10) for them vs PSA and faster turnaround times but I'm still not fully convinced in it, but I think with time this could be better!
As awesome as this sounds, robot grading needs a lot of trial and error. The software needs to be specifically tailored towards specific cards and even sets.
Call me crazy , but if these companies could improve the way the slabs look , better labels, something that pops , people would be more inclined to grade with them.
I have an issue with AGS. Sent off 32 cards "20day turn around" had really high hopes for good quality control, but when I received my order every card had a defective label. So I contacted them to see if I could get my money back they told me no. So I sent them back to get re-slabbed and fixed with new labels. It took an extraordinary long amount of time 3 months go by after returning them. I opened up my order same issue with the labels on some of the cards. So I don't remember using this company for grading. They messed up my order 2 time. Now I'm going to send them off and get re-slabbed with another company. Quality control for AGS is no good.
What kind of wizard of Oz shit was that? No trust us the mighty AI Oz is in the back grading your card. No - no need to look behind the curtain, trust us Oz is grading your card not just a bunch of guys in a back room!

I might have missed it but you were there when all was said and done and they hit the button and your grades popped up in front of you. Or do they just show you the scans and then come back a little later with the card saying it all checked out in the back room and here are the grades?

In my mind 35 years of collecting only 2 companies matter bgs and psa everything else is at least 35 less in value just a promotion to soup up the submitting

I think this is a good way to grade. Atleast it will be consistent.
Some of the bigger companies should implement this kind of grading to their services. I know PSA has that “Genamint” thing they been talking about.
