Thank you so much, we are so pleased that you enjoyed this one, especially as it is the first of it’s kind that we have published (being focussed on the books rather than the recipes)! We will definitely keep it up - got plenty more videos focussed on our cookbook collection lined up! 😉 💕 Miss. HD
I'm so happy to have finally found out lots of old fashioned cookbooks from the times of my favourite author! I can't wait to buy them :) Could you write the links in the description box for each one? Also, I can't wait to see your next videos on these! 😁 Edit: Forget what I said, I've managed to find a lot of them online so I don't need the links anymore :) By the way, I simply can't wait for Sunday to come. I really love your antique cookbook collection. 😁
What a wonderful compliment ❤️! We’re so pleased you like our collection, it might take a while but we’re determined to get through all the recipes in these books eventually 😁... well, maybe apart from the really gruesome sounding ones. I’m glad you managed to find links for the books and so sorry that I didn’t see your comment sooner to get them to you myself! Let us know if you get hold of any of them and try out any of the recipes, we’d love to see how they turned out 🥰 💕 Miss. HD
Thank you so much, what a lovely comment to read! As long as we have more recipes and books to get through, we’ll keep going 😉 Have a wonderful Sunday, whatever is left of it! ☺️ 💕 Miss. HD
Thank you! It’s not as big as collections get, but to be honest we have so many books overall we’re determined to stick to these 10 before we even think of finding any more... and luckily, there are plenty of recipes to get through with just these 😉. Wishing you a wonderful Sunday afternoon! 💕 Miss. HD
@@handeddownkitchen8192 I know the feeling of having so many interesting recipes to try and having no idea which one to choose because of the amount! Best wishes!
We are exactly the same - often don’t know what to make. Whenever that happens, we either flick through the pages of a book with our eyes closed and choose a random page, or ask a family member to decide which does solve the problem, although the downside is that it sometimes lands us with a recipe far more complicated than we were hoping, haha! 💕 Miss. Hi Tracie, just looked up the Lemco Dishes book, what a lovely little thing! From the few pictures there are on Google it looks like there are a lot of tasty dishes in there. I suppose you’d have to use something like Bovril if you wanted to recreate them now. I wonder if the company that produced if visited the school to do a demonstration as a sort of sponsorship arrangement; from what I’ve read, the school did get these sorts of special visits now and then! 💕 Miss. Why does it feel like forever since I've had the time to see one of your amazing videos??? Thanks guys - I thoroughly enjoyed this one and have serious cook book envy. And I haven't even got to part two yet! I was in two minds about making mincemeat last year and as I left it too late I didn't bother. But now that I know there's a recipe on here I will definitely be giving it a go this year. Right - now on to part two! Hope you're both well xx
Oh you must try that mincemeat, it was wonderful! Definitely worth the effort of making it rather than buying a readymade jar, and if you’ve been making Christmas cake or puddings you’re bound to have half the ingredients to hand anyway which you might as well make into mincemeat. We’re looking forward to next Christmas when it should taste even better 😋 We’re so glad that you enjoyed seeing our golden oldies! We were lucky to find them in the first place and since we started making our through the recipes in them we’ve been pleasantly surprised at how well they’ve turned out (after a bit of practice in some cases 😆) 💕 Miss. HD
@@handeddownkitchen8192 Oh I'm definitely going to try that mincemeat. I don't think Christmas is Christmas without mince pies. You can get mincemeat here but there's not such a variety or as good as what we get at home. And anyway, homemade is definitely better! Haha - you don't have to tell me about practice! I still need to work on that gingerbread! Haha! xx
@@nostalgiapie7397 I agree! 😄 But it's Sunday today and she hasn't posted, I'm very sad... 😢😢 It seems like months till she posts a new video. Anyway... What cookbooks do you have yourself? I mean, whenever I have a look at her videos you tend to comment everywhere.... 😁😆💕
Very informative video ! Keep up the good work and make more videos of this kind 👍

I do not have any of those books however, I do have the Lemco Dishes cook book 1890.
