.22 SMG, the AM-180. It was marketted to law enforcement. This was back when skipping birdshot off the pavement into people's shins was a reduced lethality tool. Uhm... Yeah. It was also pitched as it was very short range and wouldn't penetrate hard material but in a 10-12 round burst it is plenty lethal. But those under a certain age will be shocked by the concept of a "recreational automatic weapons"- it's a 22. Ammo is cheap. Cans are small. This is back when the a $200 tax stamps were half a months rent for half of Americans. Then the Hughes Amendment changed things.

While it is true he lost his election bid, it was by a tiny margin, and his campaign was out spent by about 23 million dollars, not to mention the opponent had the incumbent buff where people don't actually look into the candidates and just vote for the status quo. Gonzalez was SWEATING over this race. If Brandon runs again, I have no doubt he would win.
Also true, Shaq is literally a giant. Man makes everything look tiny.

That would be the American 180. It operated on the falacy that .22 LR was not powerful enough to kill in order to create a "riot control" SMG. Making it even more ridiculous is that one of the selling points was the fact that the sheer hail of bullets could *chew through body armor and cinder blocks*, but it was still advertised as "less than lethal."
