Hey Brett hope all been going good with you. Had a question for you what tires are your go to basher tires? Do you have recommendations for tires for my Kraton EXB build? What and why would someone choose belted tires over non belted?
We've only used the EXB stock tires on it. These Belted tires are really big and heavy and are a good tire for vehicles with so much power, they rip the tire, or if you do flat out speedruns. But belted tires stay flat and tend to have a hard edge making high speed cornering a little sketchy and feels like the tire will catch the surface and flip you over. Non-belted tires tend to be more round with no to little edge, so cornering is a lot more comfortable and natural feeling. That's my take on belted and non-belted. Some people love them, some people don't, it's a lot of just personal preference really. For tires, I really like the Badlands. We have a set of these: www.amainhobbies.com/proline-badlands-3.8-premounted-truck-tires-2-black-w-raid-wheels-m2-pro1178-10/p-qqqrqawatzznqctz?v=997148 and they're smaller than the EXB tires. The screws attach the hex hub to the wheel. So if you strip out the hex in the hub, you can easily replace it. If you strip the hex in a normal wheel, the entire wheel and tire are no good. Hope that helps. -Brett

It's the gearing that changes by adding larger diameter tires. It's like a real car accelerating from a dead stop in 2nd gear instead of 1st gear, it's much harder on the motor. With the larger diameter tires, gearing down on the pinion gear helps put the gearing back to where it should be, adding back bottom end torque, and making the motor not work so hard. Because when the motor works harder than it should be, it generates a lot of heat, same with the ESC. -Brett
To add a bit of explanations, from what I know : if a motor cannot translate the energy it receives into rotation, the energy will dissipate into heat. So if you push hard the throttle but the motor struggles to spin, it will heat up a lot. The ESC in the other hand, might heat up a lot due to the amount of energy that travels throught it, and the conversion of this energy I suppose?

I'm with you. The flat tire also has strange characteristics on high traction surfaces. If you don't need belted, don't get them. Thanks for letting us know those worked out for you! -Brett
In the end they are going to make make your truck slower because you need to lower the gearing and they will be more likely to break other parts on your car such as knuckles arms etc so really the tires that balloon up are going to be a better option because there lighter and when they speed up they have allot of give
Yes sir, they fit on the truck, but you may need to adjust gearing for the oversized tire. Do you have a MT410 Basher? I've heard those are awesome. -Brett

Last time i see a video u guys compared this arrma kraton6s vs erevo 2.0 and the kraton don't climb the litte curve. But right now with those tires the erevo 2.0 ar nothing. So don't compare a rc with different tires cause 1 or those rcs they look humiliated.. so i see u like those tires in the kraton6s. Right 🤣
I wouldnt use them. Of course they look cool but their big and heavy, so they will decrease durability of certain parts drastically, plus they will put a lot of stress on the parts, so they will wear out more quickly
The problem with stuff like this and ur models like techno and arrma etc.. is when u break shit you have to order parts because local hobby shops do not carry stuff like this. Who wants to wait for it to ship especially when u break a part and u have to wait a week to get it. That sucks

Yeah that should work, although the tires may rub on the body a little, and the truck may need a different pinion gear to ensure the motor and ESC do not overheat.
-Brett
I give them a 2 star on my Kraton v3! The ARRMA Backflips are the best tires in my opinion.
Yeah, I like the moto look of those.
-Brett
Would these work on my tekno mt410 ?
Oh yeah, those tires would be great on the MT410.
-Brett
Are these to big for a 6s typhon
Yeah, I think so. The wheel will probably run on the chassis guards. For belted 1/8 tires we have some good options but their on-road tires, like these GRP tires: www.amainhobbies.com/grp-gt-to1-revo-belted-premounted-1-8-buggy-tires-black-2-s1-grpgtx01-s1/p944887?v=944888
Or these Pro-Line Avengers: www.amainhobbies.com/proline-avenger-hp-belted-premounted-1-8-buggy-tires-2-black-s3-pro9069-243/p1148831?v=1058134

Just hate that they are sooo wide. I bought the trencher 40 series which is not belted but narrower. I like the looks a lot better than the trencher x
I'm with you. The flat tire also has strange characteristics on high traction surfaces. If you don't need belted, don't get them. Thanks for letting us know those worked out for you!
-Brett
I have those tires on my maxx
How do you vent these tyres?
Good question. But he said there's no ballooning issues with it because of the new design.
U don't need to vent 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
The rims are vented so cover them before water or sand runs
@@paulcherry1520 Absolutely.
I put 3.8 on a mojave it's fun
Why are all your replies always deleted after a while
Hahahq the boat!
In the end they are going to make make your truck slower because you need to lower the gearing and they will be more likely to break other parts on your car such as knuckles arms etc so really the tires that balloon up are going to be a better option because there lighter and when they speed up they have allot of give
.muito bom...
Will these for to a Tekno MT410, or are they just too big? THANKS
Yes sir, they fit on the truck, but you may need to adjust gearing for the oversized tire. Do you have a MT410 Basher? I've heard those are awesome.
-Brett
@@AMain_Hobbies - Just started a build of one, looks awesome! THANK YOU SIR!!! Very helpful. Order coming!
@@devnull128 Excellent!
-Brett
Front left tire falls off at 3:40.
Nope, tire never falls off.
-Brett
AMain Hobbies well something sure looks like it broke, play that shit at .50 speed and you’ll see
@@paulallen-01 You're right it does, but it was the servo saver flexing.
-Brett
AMain Hobbies damn that’s actually pretty impressive that nothing broke. That’s actually some pretty amazing flex and articulation on that steering bell crank!
Right 🤣
I can already hear the little kraton diffs crying out for tighter shimming. LOL SMH.
0:31 ???
Tyler Richardson LOL
Senseless for anything smaller than 1/8, 1/5 scale.
I wouldnt use them. Of course they look cool but their big and heavy, so they will decrease durability of certain parts drastically, plus they will put a lot of stress on the parts, so they will wear out more quickly
yeah i don’t have the speed gearing on mine but they shattered the differential in 3 runs
The problem with stuff like this and ur models like techno and arrma etc.. is when u break shit you have to order parts because local hobby shops do not carry stuff like this. Who wants to wait for it to ship especially when u break a part and u have to wait a week to get it. That sucks
There the size of your face 😂😂😂
Dang 2kg in weight added to your rig, that's like bashing while hauling around a sack of potatoes on your rig.
Ikr i already strip gears all time but hoping its bc i have damaged parts from via sending enough that s...my kraton is wrecked lol
3:40 the wheel broke
Nah, my money is on it popped off a steering link. Especially a issue on bigger heavier tires. Why i upgraded my outcast to the v4 steering link retainers 👍 i recognize the wheel flop all too well hahaha
Nope, nothing broke, nothing popped off, just plastic flex.
-Brett
Damn tires look weird so out of porportion. Sorry, I'm ocd,
Smoked both lipos and my esc 1st run with these heavy and useless tires. Gear way down if you run this garbage.
Oh man, was your truck geared up to begin with? We didn't even thermal with stock gearing on our Kraton 6S. What kind of terrain were you driving in?
-Brett
@@AMain_Hobbies I was running my serpent truggy rtr. Stock pinion which most people upgrade to the 19t pinion. My fault for not gearing way down I guess plus they are just way too wide for the street.
@@AMain_Hobbies terrain was street, it smoked everything when I went offroad. In my opinion these are 5th scale tires. I'm thinking 2.8s are better for 8th scale.
you know balloning tires is science and you speedtesting belted tires is dumb
Isn’t it better to watch a free video than to take a chance (and alot of money) on something that may not be your best choice? This advice pertains to any part(s).
