日本は9割強がマスク民で、絶賛ドス暗い感じなのが駄目ｗ
もうマレーシアはほぼ完全に以前の日常を取り戻した感じが見えて、とにかく良かった♪

Actually, there's a plan to proclaim independence as early as 1945 also in August. The chosen date was 17th August 1945. However, it was not materialized. Instead, it's Indonesia managed to proclaim their independence on that date. If both proclaimed independence together, both Malaysia and Indonesia would be united as one huge country in the South East Asian region.

Further info. The reason why 17th august 1945 was not declared for the independence of Malaysia because the Japanese occupation force at that time didn't grant it. Unlike in Indonesia, the Indonesian leaders pushed hard the Japanese occupation force to let them proclaimed independence. Besides that, the Japanese occupation force in Malaya didn't work close with the local independence movement leaders. So they took it for granted. In addition, some local Malay leaders in Malaya (now Malaysia) didn't like to cooperate with the Indonesian Independence movement leaders because of the political ideology difference. At the same time, the local Malay leaders feared if they proclaimed independence early. They might be targeted by the British force when they landed to take back Malaya. On top of that, many anti japanese guerilla forces prefer the British support to take back Malaya from the Japanese occupation force. Any attempts to declare the independence which granted by the Japanese occupation force would be considered as betrayal. It is complicated but that what was happened.
