He probably thought if chessbase was cheating, indian team would've been aware of it to cheat but his argument was senseless to begin with since it was allowed by FIDE beforehand

There is a event happened few day ago where after complain fide arbiters checked and they got phones and there were 4 sim cards and they turned the wins into losses for the players and it happened 2 days ago in Olympiad. Secondly CBI has all approvals for the camera to be in there , and even if the mobile phones have communication capabilities how would it interact with the player if the players themselves don't have anything on them . Also given technology is so advanced how can he be so sure that the cameras dont have transmission capabilities. even my camera has a bluetooth and wifi feature on it .

No. If you listen to his argument and if you have played tournaments then you will be familiar that is is very common to use phone for cheating back in the days when i used to play regularly. If you are serious about anti cheating you have to take clear steps.

Kramanik does not seem to know the FIDE rules on the phones. All we’re FIDE approved phones with stickers on it, used by Chessbase media. He should take it up with FIDE if he has issues , this has nothing to do with Indian chess team.
Cheating is really becoming a drama, you can find it at any level in chess unless you don't want to see it. Kraminik is not a conspiracy theorist, he says the truth good or bad. If electronic devices are forbiden, end of story, you have to follow the rules, no matter if sim card plugged or not, if switched on or off. When I do a swimming competition I can't wear fins, even if I say they have a camera for underwater filming. The arbiter was wrong, if I have to film then I use a suitable device, excuses should be not allowed to use a mobile phone able to communicate, in such a contest.
If its against the FIDE rules, then they are and Kramnick is right to point it out, but even Cameras have bluetooth with ability to transmit to cloud and hence to another person almost immediately, but yes maybe the organisers should provide a list of approved camera's and only those should be allowed inside.

Ridiculous, ALL the cameras, including my goPro have Bluetooth AND nearly all the current modem cameras can transmit content via Wifi etc both live and later. If the federation wants 0 tolerance on cheating then held the games in sealed rooms with 0 personnel access to players near the boards. No mediamen, no team mates, no security personnel around. Anyone can give away moves just by hand signals for that matter. Sealed rooms with inbuilt toilets and refreshments.
In this case Kramnik is right. Smartphones in playing hall ? SIM cards can be smuggled in separately, they are very small, but it is not even necessary. Mobile phone is not video recording device primarily , it is small computer itself . Whether it is connected to outside world or not does not even matter . Computers, including mobile phones in playing hall should be allowed only for arbiters and FIDE officials. Come on , players even cannot talk to each other , even gestures are banned and now media people are walking around with smartphones here ?! During a playing session, the players and the captains are forbidden to have any electronic device not specifically approved by the Chief Arbiter in the playing venue. In case of this rule violation by a player, he/she loses the current game. Taking pictures or videos from the players is allowd in the playground by the rules? Maybe not. If it is checked by the fide, then it is the FIDE who ought be examined carefully next step. He makes a very good point, rules are there for a reason. He did not accuse anyone. What he doesn't know though is that even with a camera it is possible to cheat. In general anti-cheat should be taken seriously in the current chess reality and state of technology because human nature is what it is and does not change.
It was a tactics to distract the Indian players… of course he succeeded and got a draw… this players are extremely experience but still it affected them… it happened with me in a University tournament… as I was the defending champion.. the host college arbiter purposely came and challenged my sitting position… and I lost my mind and affected my game and ultimately lost the event…

Kramanik does not seem to know the FIDE rules on the phones. All we’re FIDE approved phones with stickers on it, used by Chessbase media. He should take it up with FIDE if he has issues , this has nothing to do with Indian chess team.

Cheating is really becoming a drama, you can find it at any level in chess unless you don't want to see it. Kraminik is not a conspiracy theorist, he says the truth good or bad. If electronic devices are forbiden, end of story, you have to follow the rules, no matter if sim card plugged or not, if switched on or off. When I do a swimming competition I can't wear fins, even if I say they have a camera for underwater filming. The arbiter was wrong, if I have to film then I use a suitable device, excuses should be not allowed to use a mobile phone able to communicate, in such a contest.

If its against the FIDE rules, then they are and Kramnick is right to point it out, but even Cameras have bluetooth with ability to transmit to cloud and hence to another person almost immediately, but yes maybe the organisers should provide a list of approved camera's and only those should be allowed inside.

Ridiculous, ALL the cameras, including my goPro have Bluetooth AND nearly all the current modem cameras can transmit content via Wifi etc both live and later.

If the federation wants 0 tolerance on cheating then held the games in sealed rooms with 0 personnel access to players near the boards. No mediamen, no team mates, no security personnel around. Anyone can give away moves just by hand signals for that matter. Sealed rooms with inbuilt toilets and refreshments.

In this case Kramnik is right. Smartphones in playing hall ? SIM cards can be smuggled in separately, they are very small, but it is not even necessary. Mobile phone is not video recording device primarily , it is small computer itself . Whether it is connected to outside world or not does not even matter . Computers, including mobile phones in playing hall should be allowed only for arbiters and FIDE officials.

He makes a very good point, rules are there for a reason. He did not accuse anyone. What he doesn't know though is that even with a camera it is possible to cheat. In general anti-cheat should be taken seriously in the current chess reality and state of technology because human nature is what it is and does not change.

It was a tactics to distract the Indian players… of course he succeeded and got a draw… this players are extremely experience but still it affected them… it happened with me in a University tournament… as I was the defending champion.. the host college arbiter purposely came and challenged my sitting position… and I lost my mind and affected my game and ultimately lost the event…
