Sound of Truth is honestly what got me into metalcore when I was younger. Best guitar riffs ever made. An Ocean Between Us is one of my favorite albums ever made

Tim is the lead vocals, josh gilbert does the clean vocals from 2006-2014 ,2018-2022. Ryan has not recorded anything in the band yet as he has just joined AILD .

whoever suggested this I am so thankful for, this song doesn’t get reacted to enough. I don’t know a lot of their material but this is one of the songs that got me into metalcore and I love Josh’s voice and especially that he’s in spiritbox now

The clean vocalist/bassist is Josh Gilbert, who is now in Spiritbox. As I Lay Dying was supposed to do an anniversary tour, but Josh and Nick (Guitarist) both left the band. If you watch a video of this song live with the current members, you're gonna be disappointed lol

One of my Favorit Metal Songs
Tim Lambesis is probably my favorite metalcore volcalist of all time. soooo good! Josh also has such good cleans. wish these guys couldve pulled through together. we deserve another album!
One of my favorite bands. Saw them a few years ago when they played in Denver and they put on an amazing show. I hope you cover a few more songs.. "Nothing Left," "A Greater Foundation," "Parallels," or "The Sound of Truth" are all great.

Always some nice chill, and relaxing metal in all the best ways.
Absolutely amazing band. Definitely one of the first genuine metalcore bands, they took a dark turn in 2013 with their lead singer Tim, but their come back in 2018 with this song and album Shaped By Fire (which this song is featured on) was amazing. Despite losing most of the original members within the last couple of years, the band and Tim is still as brutal as ever.
I saw them live pretty shortly after he got out of jail, one of the best shows I've been to!
Classic one from them is Confined. Masterpiece
Even if the song is new to the "main metalcore era" this remembers me to so much good times. I had my very first circle pit and wall of death with As I Lay Dying and Chimaira (played after AILD) at Rock im Park 2007!
It looked brutal but was so harmles and people just watched out for each other!
Loved these times.
There's definitely a lot of songs you can listening to from this band!

As I lay dying was one of my favorite metalcore bands from the original rise of the genre. Kinda surprise at the lack of comments about the lead singer trying to have his wife killed.
I saw someone recommend while she sleeps for you to check and VERY much agree with that. Such a heavy and catchy band.

I love this band. I've been listening to them since 2007. Their music is pure energy. I would also recommend a band named Any Given Day. Their song, Endurance is one of my favorites because of the flow of the song. It reminds me a lot of As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, and Five Finger Death Punch. Keep it metal. \m/

Lady, I've been exploring your channel and, HELL YEAH, I FOUND THIS! They're my favorite band ever. You really should listen to "The Sound of Truth." Also, check out another band, Killswitch Engage, especially their song "The Signal Fire (feat. Howard Jones)." This second song is essentially the best crossover in the genre.

So Tim the harsh vocalist has a few other projects as well. Born Through Fire and Austrian Death Machine. Austrian Death Machine just released a new album last month and there is several songs where Tim has his wife Dani featured on them. Also wish I had seen this sooner! I'm actually friends with Dani and I'm sure she would love to tell Tim that you did a reaction to this!

Can't believe I'm seeing this band pop up now, they've been dead for awhile. Haven't listened to them since Tim went to prison, but their early albums were seminal to my teenage years. Nice to see a lot of the original members get away from the band.

Deadlock is a band with a mix between male and female fronted singer and a very experimental melodic death metal style.

You should check out wovenwar. When tim went to prison the members brought shane into the mix making a new band. Shane is a fantastic vocalist from oh, sleeper. They didnt have a long run unfortunately.
Oh boy, AILD has so many goddamn great songs, too many to list. Confined was the first one I heard of them and it instantly made me a huge fan. Anodyne Sea has a great video so I'd recommend that one next.

Up until the vocalist's debacle in 2012 (the whole scenario where he plotted to have his wife murdered) , they were one of my fav metalcore bands.
Then that happened.
The 2018/2019 return was welcome but then one by one the most important members chose to leave onto greener pastures, one after the other? No surprise that the guy who plotted that shit in 2012 is not easy to work with

Hard to tell if afraid or just shocked in awe lol. Old AILD was better though, my favorite way back when. Honestly, "The Darkest Nights" or "Elegy" were my tops.
