So 4K Gamer Pro just a bad upscaler with too much sharpening, it makes aliasing even more visible, mClassic is way better with its subtle anti-aliasing solution, even if it keeps the picture in 1080p.
The current boost level is high which is the maximum enhancement 4k Gamer Pro has in terms of sharpness, coloring, and depth of field. But that doesn't mean it'll have the best visual experience. That's why we have 3 different upscaling levels to fit different games or needs and you can control the look of your game with 3 upscaling levels of 4K. Mclassic does have better anti-aliasing, the 4K Gamer Pro doesn't seems to add any AA, though it's sharper than Mclassic (maybe too much). I think Mclassic looks better overall.

Same here, it may be false advertising on the 4K part since it goes up to 1440p but it's good at upscaling and removing jaggies and making a sharper and cleaner image while still looking natural, especially on displays that are 1440p since all the upscaling would be just the Mclassic and nothing else, whereas on a 4K display you get either 1. 1080p output from the Mclassic that's upscaled a second time to 4K by the TV (if 1440p isn't supported by the TV) 2. 1440p output that's then upscaled a second time by the TV to 4K

Great comparison, and thanks for making these kind of videos. MClassic looks good in most cases, but 4k Gamer Pro just looks oversharpened. Overall, I don't think it's worth it (for Switch at least) and would rather stick to the original output.
The 4K Gamer Pro looks like if you max out your TV's Sharpness setting. Wich looks absolutely horrible with extremely excessive aliasing. The M Classic does the best job here imo riding a fine line between Sharpness and a somewhat smooth looking image
Yup if you own an Mclassic might as well up the sharpness setting if you want more sharpness for some reason and get both the oversharpened look of the 4K pro while retaining the anti-aliasing of the Mclassic which is key for switch games like the new Kirby one since they're just running at raw pixel counts with no anti-aliasing whatsoever
I think it's a hard choice, since there are games that look better with more anti-aliasing as provided by Mclassic, while others that already have a good anti-aliasing by default looks much cleaner with 4K Gamer Pro.
You can combine them together and get 4k output for the Mclassic. You'll get all the Mclassics image enhancement features also. You will need to use a 4k Splitter to overcome HDCP to get them to work together.

This almost convinced me to buy the mClassic, but a lot of other videos are making it seem barely noticeable at all. I just want something to make the Switch more appealing on my 4k OLED, but I'm not spending a hundred dollars if its not actually improving the resolution.
What’s not mentioned is that MClassic relies on a limited RGB signal which doesn’t show up in all instances, but when it does it makes everything look worse. That said, I’d venture most decent to good TVs these days do what this does for free. And it also allows for full RGB output.
In short, the mClassic is better at anti-aliasing and upscaling while the 4k Gamer Pro is better at deblurring and contrast. 9 times out of 10, I choose the mClassic, however I did prefer the 4k Gamer Pro in Odyssey and Dread. The clearer image overshadowed the anti-aliasing. Like most things, it comes down to individual use cases and personal preferences

I had the mclassic. I wasn't thrilled with it. So i bit the bullet and bought the Retrotink 4k. Perfect for mini consoles (NES, SNES, Genesis) and Wii/GCN/aN64. Gonna try it with Switch soon.
I wonder if Marseille Co. will ever release an mClassic 4K adapter that outputs 4K in the future? It's pretty good! Especially when using it with an older console like PS2, GameCube, Xbox etc.
I think the problem is neither of them do well outside of the games they are designed for. Depending on the game I like one or the other (meaning both but for different games). Not sure I'd spend my money on either as they can make it look worse depending on the game.

I've tried it on quite a few systems now. I'd say for PS3 its fantastic! And its worth owning for Switch games as there is still no Switch Pro. definitely too much sharpening on the 4k Gamer Pro, looks like a cheap TV upscaling. the Mclassic is a nice blend of increasing sharpness and overall pop, but for $100 it seems a bit too expensive
These devices are far too expensive for the minimal upgrade. The mclassic is over $100. For that price it needs to be a much better. I'd value the upgrade in the $10-$20 range. It's just too small of an upgrade to justify that price point. For the Switch. Might work wonders for the PS3.
Tbh, even though the mClassic shows better AA, I think many might actually prefer the sharper image of the 4K Gamer Pro from living room distances, though thats just my speculation. mClassic is doing a great job, but feels like its maintaining too much of the smudged TAA look that overwhelms most games now.
I feel like Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are not meant to be upscaled so much. With such incredibly high detail it just highlights the faults and low ends of the Switch's capabilities and puts them under a spotlight. The mClassic upscales it enough to where it does look better but still has that artistic feel of what BoTW has. It feels like seeing art come to life like if its a painting or something. Too much high definition takes it away and kills the immersion.
In my opinion the difference is not enough to justify the investment. In the pictures you can see some differences, probably not noticeable when everything is moving on the screen.
I definitely prefer the 4k Gamer over the mclassic considering it upscales far better and has punchy coloring but Mclassic is probably better for most people because it doesn't have jagged edges. Think the 4k gamer pro is just a better bang for your buck. Mclassic is far too subtle in my opinion, it's soft buttery visuals are nice but often times it barely upscales and doesn't up the coloring. Not to mention the 4k gamer does wonders for lighting and shadows. But you can always daisy chain them to get best of both worlds
mClassic for 1440p IPS gaming monitors, mClassic+EDID 1080p emulator+4k Gamer Pro for 4k TVs and OLEDs. Contrary to what people are saying, the smart TV options will never do as good of a job as both of these combined.
That what i need it's a device to provide a serious 2x-4x or more MLAA FXAA or any other anti aliasing method and 1080p upscaling for my PS3 Xbox360 and Switch, and i don't understand why it's so difficult to make it. Mclassic and Mcable it's just ok but not enough and 4k Gamer Pro it's to much expensive and without AA,obviously! I wish for the future 🙏
You can get the Mclassic to output 4k if you use it in combination with the 4k Gamer Pro. So that's a unique reason to get it if you have a TV that doesn't do 1440p.
Was gonna get for Botw 2 but after looking at it, it takes away too much detail. Yes its clearer in a way but its like losing grain when digitizing a film reel.
The mclassic has smoother visuals and great anti aliasing. The 4k gamer pro is sharper, keeps more details but also has more ridges and destroys anti aliasing.
Yeah they're absolutely not worth it tbh. If you're unhappy with the native presentation you may as well emulate. The Mclassic is so subtle it doesn't look much different from a decent internal TV upscaler. The 4k gamer pro is just contrast adaptive sharpening maxed out.
Mclassic is great but the 4k prod version causes too much distracting noise in the backgrounds and the over sharpened aliased look. I can use an Mclassic and change the sharpness on my tv if I really want more defined edges.
I have an mClassic and was looking for a good comparison vid after hearing about a new dongle with a similar purpose. Seems like most everyone in the comments has the same thoughts as I after viewing. Now my stupid brain is wondering if I could get the best of both worlds by combining them... If it even worked would there be, too noticable, further latency? Would the order they're plugged in alter the image?
Is it possible to combine them? Put mclassic for the benefits of anti aliasing and then put the 4k ganer pro into the nclassic to upscale the the picture to 4k?
I have a interesting idea for a video, but I don’t have the money to buy like four of those lol I was wondering if I connect two of them to the ps4 VR1 and two more for the input and output running them with the ps4 pro and ps5 would it make a difference

definitely too much sharpening on the 4k Gamer Pro, looks like a cheap TV upscaling. the Mclassic is a nice blend of increasing sharpness and overall pop, but for $100 it seems a bit too expensive
Original: 🙂
Mclassic: 😎
4K Gamer Pro: 🤮
These devices are far too expensive for the minimal upgrade. The mclassic is over $100. For that price it needs to be a much better. I'd value the upgrade in the $10-$20 range. It's just too small of an upgrade to justify that price point. For the Switch. Might work wonders for the PS3.
Wow the 4k adapter really make a difference
of making it look worse
I can barely tell the difference
Ones sharper one has better AA.
I like the M classics versatility to be used with all my gaming consoles and not just my HD ones
Crazy how much detail 4k gamer pro shows
I had the Mclassic for two years and I loved it so much and it worked really damn well. THEN IT BROKE
I'd say the 4k pro gamer is way to go if don't already own Mclassic
The mClassic definitely bumps up that saturation and contrast.
But you can always daisy chain them to get best of both worlds
makes me want to get the 4k gamer pro, and put the mclassic after it for anti-aliasing
mClassic for 1440p IPS gaming monitors, mClassic+EDID 1080p emulator+4k Gamer Pro for 4k TVs and OLEDs. Contrary to what people are saying, the smart TV options will never do as good of a job as both of these combined.
I personally prefer the smoother anti aliasing benefits of the mclassic than the possibly sharper but then more jaggy edge 4k gamer pro
new TVs like LG C2 could achieve similar effect through picture settings
4k gamer pro have great sharp pixel!!
I love it!!
Yea, imma a "retro look" kind of person.
People must have money to just throw away...
Life hack: increase sharpness on your tv/monitor and u don't have to buy any of these things
You can get the Mclassic to output 4k if you use it in combination with the 4k Gamer Pro. So that's a unique reason to get it if you have a TV that doesn't do 1440p.
The 4K is Razor Sharp and I think it would look great with some consoles but it’s probably too sharp especially with 3D games
Mclassic with daemonXmachina is just Amazing
Do these work on low end/old pc's? If they did it would be game changing for keeping systems relevant for years.
How's a Xbox One S?
Wow, thanks for the video. My opinion, Mclaasic is the best choice 👍
Put mclassic for the benefits of anti aliasing and then put the 4k ganer pro into the nclassic to upscale the the picture to 4k?
can you compare to the xbox passthrough upscaler, thanks
can you daisy chain these devices to add both post processing to the image?
the mClassic is a masterpiece.
I heard many people use both first the mclassic and then the 4kp on top any opinions?
4k gamer pro is great for 720/1080p games, but some few games well look jagged, i take that over the nintendo hdmi any day
are these from the same company or is the 4k gamer pro from a competitor ?
Does Upscaling from 4k tv like top model of samsung produce the same effects / similar to Mclassic?
So you just plug the upscaler into the switch and it makes graphics better? Does this go against the nintendoswitch TOS?
Can you use them together?
yes
What about the latency caused by these methods?
A new update just dropped for elden ring
Could you please do an analysis to see if there are any performance improvements?
Mclassic looks blurry but the 4k gamer pro looks so sharp
Can I use it together with my Mclassic (like both on the same HDMI line...)?
Soooooooooo basically if you want smoothing mClassic... You want sharpness 4K Gamer Pro...
I personally prefer a slightly less sharp image but with better AA, so mcable for me
Isn't this nearly achievable with the TVs built-in sharpening option in the settings?
That screen you used on this comparison ???
4K Gamer Pro = 1000% edge sharpening. Looks terrible.
It gets more brighter when you upscale it I don't know if it's because of the TV lol
Is there a benifit for 1080p gaming? Say on a higher refresh rate
Does 4k gamer pro work with a gamecube and if it does what's the best hdmi adapter to combine it with?????
I have a interesting idea for a video, but I don’t have the money to buy like four of those lol I was wondering if I connect two of them to the ps4 VR1 and two more for the input and output running them with the ps4 pro and ps5 would it make a difference
the mclassic colors aren't like the default, like a pink layer covering the image.
