I noticed there appeared to be zero wind when he was raising this mast. I would think it needs more support from the shrouds, if there was ANY distorting forces from the sides. That one little pin in the mast base is not going to resist the low lever arm forces the mast could exert if it go just a bit off-center during the raising process. I know some of these problems from my development work on my 26 Firefly project a number of years ago.
good-looking boat. i would be inclined to put a loose restraint with rope, around the heel of the mast, on the first few times.

Maybe you could just fold the boom against the mast and tie it fast instead of taking it off every time?
