I have seen mantas rubbing themselves on offshore platforms, scratching themselves like a bear on a tree. Wonder if this could be something to do with it.
Thanks for sharing the experience and advice we are supposed to sail passed there in about a month and We are getting worried about the orcras behavior
Run the engine. It's close proximity to the rudder will probably give them pause. Shooing them away is certainly safe for them, and more importantly for the crew. Have you ever seen them chase and kill a baby whale for the fun of it? Don't let your rudder be the training camp.
Could you tell me the reason why you persist on crossing on the Spanish side even after having been "attacked" on multiple boats over the last few months? There are barely any interactions reported on the Moroccan side.... Why not cross on that side? Thanks!
Just came thru this last few days no probs. Go inside the Tuna Fish Farms and hug the shore within reason. May cost you a bit more time and a few extra miles, but what price is safety. We are on a FP Astrea 42 Sailing Catamaran. “SmokyJIM”. Only draw 1.2m so that helped. If they do go for your rudder, the shaft is usually S/S so hit the top with a metal work hammer. The noise and percussion should stop them.
@@stuartbrown2111 and the gossip is that the Fish Farmers throw crackers in the water to drive them away from stealing Tuna out of their nets. My question was how come this is happening here and no where else? Whales don’t have passports and international borders, Voila, know you know.

This has to be because of lockdowns leading to a massive drop in ocean traffic over 2020, so the whales started coming closer to the shores. Now in 2021 ocean traffic is picking back up to normal levels the whales have been probing the threat level of the boats, wont take them long to find a way to sink the boats and get to the tasty Humans on board.
Killer Whales are named that because the "Kill Whales". They are whale killers and hunt and eat the largest whales (you can watch it on youtube). They are mistaking your sailboat for a whale and are hunting you. Nothing to do with fake climate change, or global warming, or global cooling, or Ozone depletion or any of the other fake leftist tropes. They are simply hunting your boat as though it was a whale. Best solutions to spear them or shoot them in defense. They will remember that response and stop doing this.

Why did you stop to play - if you didn't want to play?

Fishermen use seal bombs don't they?
If they bite my rudder they'll get a mouth full of carbon steel :)

they weren't angry because if they were ... this video wasn't here!!
They're tired of humans, as they should.

Start carrying and using seal bombs ! We fishermen use them wisely in Alaska during salmon season ! Yes they do deter any large predators away !
It’s our own damn fault. Bless them.
Wonderful tasty meat, i eat whalebeef last week. Start hunting. Our basic food here in Norway.
