It pisses me off that this game is 10 years old and they haven’t given us the tools to manage our inventory and auction items, but they’re taking this absurd stance against companion apps that have simply done what they’re too lazy or unskilled to pull off.
What are you talking about you literately have a search function but i can agree with the auction item part.
@@kaligath6616 there's no real filters in place in the game itself, there's no way to see your whole progress in the way you'd want to see it, you can only search things up and see if it's mastered, that's about as far as it goes, and even then, it's not really that user friendly if you ask me.

It's laziness. DE is notorious for just absolutely awful consistency, or lack thereof. You can shuffle single colors on your operator/drifter, but you can only shuffle all colors on frames and weapons. That's just a quick example I noticed a while ago after actually updating my appearance with Duviri.
Even EA allows databases for their cash grabbing ultimate team game modes
This is getting worse and worse ! DE has never messed up that much.
There should be a Q&A stream ASAP with the Devs and a lawyer by their side to answer all questions we have about this new EULA because right now, DE just backstabbed 90% of it's community without any warning sign or explanation.

I'm not such a hardcore player but I have moments where I spend quite some time on game, I have only 3000h clocked on the game but it's still the only game I always come back to and the only game I spent so much money on by buying their prime packs once in a while.... So, after spending so much, it really angers me it's turning this way.
They already warned you just like any other mmo third party programs have always been at risk of getting you banned its because they cant be tracked in the game so possible exploits could happen as a result of it or even outright cheating.
The ruling on it has always been laxxed though but one should never think it wont happen to them getting banned for using software that is not approved.
As for me i play as intended by the dev because from what i have seen from these apps you can easily do it in game and well warframe market is not technically a third party app its more akin to a forum with functionality to advertise so warframe market is 100% safe as none of your information in your account or in game client is required to access it.
Meanwhile overwolf does as it is a overlay that uses the information from your account and in game client.
Aleca frame is how I know what I've mastered, subsumed, and not built yet all at once instead of spending 10-20 minutes filtering through several menus and screens just to see what I have, don't have and plan to acquire... Just because it's possible in game, well, it doesn't necessarily mean it's all user friendly. I've even used it to sell stuff on Warframe market because it directly connects to that too!
It's an assistive and useful tool for managing and planning. If that becomes something you get banned for, man I wasted my money on the game in the end after 8 or 9 years of on-off play. And I'd play 6-8 months a year until the new war happened, then it was every Major story release that I would play, like duviri, I miss a lot of things, and have a lot of things to keep track of in like 50 menus... I don't even have a fortuna amp and not even a good Cetus amp :/
@@Zamerus I'm sure you still need to shift through alecas own menus too. Games don't become 11 years old without needing some menus, but its not even several.
Not built or mastered: anything not in color on your profile. Or sort by most used and head to the bottom...
Not subsumed: probably literally any frame you've never mastered and those whos abilities you can't choose in helminth itself.
Its not hard to figure out.
Same with selling. Literally just go and look at their page on market then undercut/match the currently lowest cost person there. (Or sell for a bit more or make your own decision by what you feel if you think your time was worth a bit more.
Although yes theres the autosell and recommendation stuff but thats where it becomes borderline cheating.
considering it took them 10 years or however long to make the warframe wiki "official" having other stuff will take as long or will never happen in the first place. They really should be thankful that the community is doing their job instead of doing backstabbing eula changes screwing people over. I started using Alecaframe very recently, and as a vet it's extremely helpful to me considering the amassed mirriade of items I have gotten over the years to be sorted, viewed and also sold or checked up on via the integrated market feature. Trade chat is terrible, and seeing the poor souls in maroos bazaar every time I go to do the weekly sculpture missions is just sad. Heck, they could hire these people from the community to make these things in-game if they themselves can't or won't for whatever unfathomable reason.
I think for my own safety I'll stop at least using alecaframe, I've already quit warframe once for around 2 years before, but if something regarding their changes does fuck me over I'll quit for good. The game already doesn't respect the time invested by players (unless you've got heavinly RNG) and it might end up being time wasted entirely.

A small mistake and all the time and effort invested in the game becomes wasted time.
Take the bugs for instance, if almost every patch comes with bugs then how are players gonna survive this

DE needs to come out and outright ban the use of overwolf or say it’s ok none of the “”use at your own risk”” nonsense, stop the pussyfooting about and draw a hard line in the sand so players know exactly where they stand.
If they have had talks with the devs at overwolf then just say it’s ok until we say otherwise (basically if overwolf crosses a line that DE dosnt like) then DE can put out a message across all channels (as well as sending an in game mail) saying that it’s no longer useable and bans will start happening in one week from now.
The ambiguity is my biggest problem with it, it’s either bannable or it isn’t make it clear and move on.
personally I think that more devs should go the WOW approach and let mods be used in the game, have a clear set of rules about what can and can’t be done by the mod and if a mod maker crosses the line you first ask them to stop then you put out a hard message saying you will be banned for using “”wall hack 27””
Sadly the ambiguity of the points is in fact intentional.
This is how it is done in the industry and not only in the video game industry, it is common practice.
You could check any Eula, either coming from ActiBlizz or Riot Games and you will notice the same ambuity in many details (And I mention those 2 because they are much bigger than DE)
UA-cam has them too in fact, I would not expect a marked line since in fact one is almost never drawn in Eulas, it is not an exclusive problem it is a generalized characteristic
@@koroxo1152 i know its intentional thats what makes it more infuriating, now i know they want to keep it secret as to how they find people hacking the game but in this case its not a hack and because DE won't just come out and say no its an outright bannable offence to use it (which would in my opinion be better that them saying if the wind is blowing to the east and we had toast today and we stepped on the third crack but not the fourth crack on our way to work we may feel like banning some people) people could get banned because a friend says ""its fine ive been using it for years besides everyone uses it"" with stuff like this that some people have put thousands of dollars into their accounts there really should be a definitive yes or no answer (if only to stop the lawsuit that likely would come there way if they ban the wrong person).
I've always thought Warframe was a very consumer friendly game despite the weird bans I would occasionally hear about, but this sounds like it's got Tencent's fingers all over it and I don't say that lightly (like how DE joked about it on stream)

F no, they're not. The way I view it, DE is extremely incompetent with moderation. Imagine getting trade banned for 2 weeks by doing endurance runs. Though to be fair, I am on one of the extreme ends of the gaming spectrum doing farms for 12+ hour endurance runs. Idk, maybe it's just me being petty because as far as I'm concerned DE lost all good will with me ever since Railjacks were monetized and the time before that starting especially with 2021 Lunar New Year bundles mostly with the selling of Kuva and Rivens. Sure you can make the argument of "It's cheaper to buy unveiled rivens on warframe market", but it's the principle of the situation that applies. Before, farming kuva was what made things "fair" despite being tied to RNG for rerolling rivens, but putting kuva onto a purchasable bundle for plat, yeah no.
Edit: I haven't even started on how if you sell rivens/arcanes for plat, you take the penalty if it's "bad plat" i.e. losing the wares that you traded for said plat and the plat is deducted from your account. It completely shafts the player that was trading in good faith.
@@ienzo_ain This got kinda long so TLDR- I'll stick with a company that does incompetent things in good faith if the experience as a whole remains good/ enjoyable enough, but once any blatantly malicious anti-consumer practices take effect I can't defend it...
I totally understand your point and think it's totally valid, but I guess the "micro transactions" generally tend to get a pass from me. I think it's because I never saw them as a greedy company given the fact that the game is free to play in an era of $70 AAA games that give you even less but still charge you out the ass for anything and everything. I usually HATE the argument of "You don't have to buy it." yet I would actually make a similar argument for Warframe due to the amount of hours I've been able to play vs. the amount of money I've had to spend (which is technically zero), nothing important is locked behind a paywall, and the fact that you can trade plat to begin with.
I never thought they were perfect and I agree some of their decisions are pretty incompetent but the big picture doesn't change that much. Actually being incompetent might just be a ruse to not seem malicious but I really don't know. I guess the good vastly outweighs the bad in my eyes because it's the only game (free or paid) I've ever spent money on for anything besides large DLC/ expansions. The line and what crosses it are very subjective, different people will draw it and tolerate it differently.
Now though, some of the new EULA changes definitely cross that line, as far as I'm concerned, into malicious anti consumer territory because I don't believe they can possibly give a solid/ reasonable (non boilerplate corporate BS) reason as to why they were implemented, other than "We're sorry, we were forced to do it by the higher ups" and that will never happen. Even if it did happen, it wouldn't change the fact that they did it to begin with. Up until now the nastiest thing they did was make something available in the market that we normally had to grind for or "balance something, causing our items to be worth less (as far as trade value and/ or usability) or a feeling of wasted time, but the straight forward reason of "We need to pay the bills" could always justify that action whether or not I agreed it was necessary or the best solution. I just can't justify 2 of the new changes as being anything other than anti consumer and malicious, which kinda hurts TBH.
I got banned for my name. I had that psn name for 3 years. Thankfully I could just change it. But my friend got banned for saying the word useless 💀 they ban for some wild reason and they do nothing to help
@@Unohxna I remember then Rebecca and Megan where "friends" With Misantrope (means man hating), a very toxic community member and chat moderator. Then Misantrope changed the name to Missan. People found ther post on Tumbrl. Crazy stuff there.
Thay also have a policy about giving your loggin info to other pople, its not allowed. But in a Tennocon and various DevStreams, both the warframe stuff and afiliated content creators shared this info on stream.

Bug posting might be bug exploit video . Remember NoobShowTek is still ban until 2035 because of the Khora XP exploit , he posted a video about it when DE asked him to not post about the exploit. This resulted in a massive ban wave

@@jonaichi_09 Yeah. Didn't help that I had the Jade Valkyr skin on that account too. Quit Warframe after that for like a year and a half. Only started again because a friend helped me. Turned off region as soon as I could. DE's moderation is terrible.
Well I guess that means that you can't cover any incarnon weapon since most of them have at least one bugged perk. But regardless they need to make some kind of statement or something behind their reasoning for this since the new EULA seems way to aggressive.

Legal jargon tends to be aggressive. They need the legal room to swiftly shut down bad actors. But yes, DE should also do themselves a favor and reach out to the community about the specific intentions and implementations of these changes.

That was actually my thought when I heared it.
Honestly, DE needs to stop relying on so many outside sources to make Warframe playable, and incorporate all of these things into the game. If the Warframe Market site ever goes down, I'll tell you right now I won't be back. Chat is way to difficult to coordinate selling things. There needs to be a real way to do this built into the game, and the need has been there for years, DE has just gotten away with not putting something in because of Warframe Market existence. They need to stop being so lazy.
Also, their wording is extremely concerning with the bug thing, as that basically means they can come after anyone on a whim, even just for making a forum post on it to get DE's attention on the issue. Anything that even has the potential to come back on your community when they're not abusing it is just plain wrong and should never be implemented. But even more so, where this is a PvE game where the only progress you can really hurt is your own, even if it was being abused, unless it's a platinum dupe or something like that, it honestly really doesn't matter, as it's up to the player to create their own fun. Hope they update that wording to protect users, but I doubt it. Not the first time I've lost faith in DE for having bad practices towards us players.
They could definitely make trading system as in Star Trek Online, it was always super easy to buy and sell stuff there and i didn't even need to be in game for trade to complete you can browse through thousands of items and list your own in seconds.

Speaking of the subject of the video, a change in Eula was expected and predictable, not out of malicious intent but merely by legal requirement. It is inevitable that all companies change their Eula at some point and the abiguity of many points is common.
The change will probably not go any further and will only be there as a safety net in the case where it is genuinely required
I share the thought with Overwolf, but if I have learned something with Riot Games, it is that the devs usually leave the unharmful apps or external pages almost intact until they implement it themselves or they decide that they will not be allowed.
This change in the EULA does scare me a bit.

I also don't like new EULA. And I can easily break some of their new conditions. For example regarding VPN: I work remotely as a programmer and on daily basis use VPN to access corporate network. I have several setups regarding that. Plus I also have using more general VPN because I have very restrictive internet. Funnily enough when this changes come into action I update my steam review. And since I play game from 2014 I have some notes from the past, to be more specific for period from 2018-2019 there was time where I had connection issues and I (and my friends from same country) couldn't connect to Warframe servers, unless we use VPN, so we used to have for a year or more VPN just to solve connection issues. And while it solved for me later in 2019, I guess there are still people exist with that kind of issues. Forbidding VPN is just straight bad. There a lot of legitimate reasons to use it. And if I could be banned because I forget to disable it is scary.
I collected almost everything from the game (mission only from latest content patches) and now I kinda don't want to play and get banned my precious account (to me). And in steam I have 10k hours in WF. The more I put into it, the more I scary from using it.
I couldn't agree with you more. Anytime a company just says "No VPN or get banned" without explaining anything, it's a really bad look. I'm sure it's a data collection thing. The crazy part is that just last year a friend of mine was having problems connecting to the server (I think it was some kind of accidental bad) and DE support straight up told him "Buy a VPN and use it until the problem goes away" and they wouldn't tell him what the problem was, say how long until it might be fixed, help him troubleshoot, or give him any kind of hint. They just pushed the Idea that he should play over a VPN and forget it. He tried a free VPN, got into the game for a minute and got kicked again, DE told him to try a different VPN!
I know he didn't do anything to get banned because I was playing with him when it happened, he didn't even trade and wanted to farm everything.
This whole thing gives me really bad vibes, and on top of everything else, they talked about going harder on bans while giving us less recourse to fix it.
@@Wooskii1 I know this, since me and friends got connection issues too. We didn't ask DE about this knowing even at that time that tech support here is sucks. But we tried and it worked, so we used it for a time. For me it was resolved year later or so.
This is false you will NOT be banned for using a VPN it states that de has every right to ban you from matchmaking until the VPN is disabled. So if you use the VPN you will be stuck to solo until it's turned off you will not be banned from using it
@@Wooskii1you won't be banned from using a VPN the eula actually states this but it does say it can temp ban you from matchmaking until the VPN is turned off which basically means you will be stuck in solo mode until it's turned off.

i really dont think they would act like activision. its a wierd move and probably not even wanted by DE. maybe they have to do this for future content or legal reasons.
but in the current climate of the gaming-world, this is a bold move. people are fed up with companies shennaningans, millions left WoW, despite the fact they played it for 10 years or longer. if the community sees players and content creators getting banned for things they did for years, it wont sit well.

Jokes aside,feels like lately DE been making a lot of...Questionable decisions,makes me wonder what's that big tennocon reveal going to be,with how unpleased majority of players are after duviri launch and now with new eula, hard to imagine how they'll try to sugarcoat the deal. But I guess it's time to take a break from warframe, at least for me, it's just unbearable (not hard, just to much time goes into with very little outcome)

I know this comment is a bit late, but for the people who are saying it's Tencent's and not DE's fault, DE has been doing this sort of things long before they were acquired by Tencent; Sure Tencent might have created some of those clauses on the EULA, but DE have always been that incompetent on their own...
Meh, if they ban Alecaframe and players for using it I'll probably just stop playing. They have a neat idea of a game but it's just to unfriendly to users, especially newer players.
it will backfire so hard shutting down bug posts, H.O.D gaming in ark survival evolved was banned in game for talking about meshing exploits etc. He later got unbanned and the community was standing behind him and much more outspoken about the problems after that. GG i guess
Right, so I'm the most pissed about the fact I barely registered EULA change. I assume this is when I started up the warframe a couple days ago and it displayed 2013 launcher screen and I just clicked through thinking maybe some recent hotfix caused old launcher to show up. I was reinstalling the game a day before that (though I played on the same day and I have seen current launcher), I didn't think much of it. Now, seeing this video, I realise I accepted EULA change without any idea it has changed.
This should have been an email to all accounts. I'm no legal expert, but sneaking an update to EULA in a way that isn't obvious for people can be contested in court, though I doubt anyone would bother taking DE to court.
EULAs pretty much universally don't hold up at all if taken to court. The thing is that 99.9% of people won't bother to go to court over a game, which is what the gaming industry bets on when making the EULAs (and it's a safe bet, for the aforementioned reason). People just don't realize how much power they actually have over commercial entities (especially in more consumer friendly regions like the EU), and also think that it'd cost so much money that they'd be bankrupted or something over it.
They should make an auction house ingame to replace the trade chat
As a founder ffrom the start, we always wanted a way to make plat in the game. If 3rd party apps like this one gives an edge over the other players who don't use it and take the time and effort to make what little plat they can. bad enough the market if many have not noticed is also pushed by many streamers who are having giveaways. to rapid make plat because they haven't gotten anwers tobecome CC, so they low ball all what is in the market to make that quick plat. Ban It!!! And those using it.

This guy brings up being a founder in every single comment he makes, which is just funny to me. Tldr, just use warframe market, it takes only slightly more effort to manage, with zero risk of going against the EULA. Best thing about being a console player? I don't have to worry about such things as alecaframe. Sometimes simpler truly is better lol.

They did this exact same thing with GW2, FFXIV and a couple of other games I've played along the years. But based on my experience I wouldn't be concerned about alecaframe unless they have specifically stated so. Their lack of comment, means exactly what it appears to mean, that they are on the fence. They know its in violation, but they aren't gonna take any action because it's a valuable and meaningful addition to the game. Realistically, the updated EULA exists only to reasonably safeguard their game and to give them a little extra control over third parties if there ever is an issue. I would have complete confidence that they definitely didn't do this as a gotcha excuse to ban customers.
For example in GW2 when they did this, everyone speculated that it was to remove the third party DPS reader. We were kinda right, but also wrong. They really did it to have more power over afk third party farming tools, which they came down on hard. Those were always operated by "malicious customers" who weren't actually playing the game, and just using them to sell gold back to players elsewhere. They also targetted the dps tool which was clearly in violation. But they wouldn't have done it if the community weren't so loud and demanding for a statement, they would have just continued to stay quiet. And when they did it, their strategy was "You have 3 months notice, after 3 months we will release an ingame solution ourselves and then we will start enforcing the EULA." They were clear that they didn't want to go after legitimate customers, and in the end the creator of the app negotiated a compromise. The compromise was just that the developers wanted to review the code before he updated it, and that he was to remove the inbuilt gear inspect tool.
There was even another situation where a popular streamer blatently used fly hacking for a giant raid tournament he hosted. But it wasn't intended to be used maliciously, the idea was just to use them for in the place of a spectator camera in a mode that didn't have that option. The studio were set to be financially sponsoring the event, but when they found out about the plan, they pulled out of the sponsorship. But they never made a statement and they ignored that he used fly hacking so blatently.
All this to say, I don't see there being any universe in which DE would use this to search for and ban legitimate well-meaning customers who just want a little extra convenience. Especially when the primary user base of that tool are their most dedicated customers. They might take action against the app, but they certainly aren't about to take meaningful action against the players, not at least without warning. And if they did, it would be very temporary, or really incredibly stupid. I would recommend not talking about the app, not showing it off on stream and not drawing attention to it.
Just to be clear, if you close the program when you stream, and don't show it in videos and don't talk about it, you'll be 100% fine. DE aren't allowed to install malware to see which programs are installed on your computer, because that's a breach of your privacy. Yoshi P said this about FFXIV's dps meter (ACT) "If you show us that you have it installed, if you're streaming it or advertising it, or being toxic to others in game or sharing pictures with it, expect to receive a suspension. But if you don't show us and don't say anything, we have no way to know that it's installed."
Anet had this issue with GW2 when they did a ban wave before, they used malware to see if people were using cheat engine at the same time as GW2. They banned a tonne of people who were maliciously hacking. Unfortunately because that sort of program is not in the scope of a videogame and not explicitly given permission by your computer through installation or system administrator, it opened them up to legal action on the grounds of them breaching their customer's legal right to privacy. They settled out of court, and as a result they had to reinstate the accounts of everyone who was banned.
Let me put it this way , if they ban me for Aleca or WFM I dodged a bullet with the game and i'll be happy to uninstall .

The fact DE is doing this feels like they are ruining their own game and making us veterans who've spent thousands of hours on the game, just quit. I
Don't get me wrong, I love this game but but the way they have changed over the years is starting to scare me. Either the money is getting to their heads or they just don't care anymore? There are so many glitches in the game that have been present for months even years, and now this user agreement? Do they expect all normal people to know and understand a 100 page agreement to the letter?
I've spent 10 years across three platforms on this game and these changes over time have really messed with my perspective of this game and its future. Maybe its just my perspective but I'm not seeing a very good future for DE.

Ok. What about reshade for captura? You do have to add a file to the games directory but it's still a post- processing program to affect the looks from render data.

A 10yo multiplayer game across 5 consoles and PC with no market system, no party system, and no plans to implement either, despite forcing more players than ever into interacting via functionally forced crossplay. A litany of simple gameplay bugs, like not getting loot from recurring PT bounties, not being fixed for YEARS. Things failing for no discernible reason and with absolutely no acknowledgement, such as steam input breaking upon opening the decree menu on PC in the latest couple of duviri hotfixes. As if the steam input presets didn't already have major bugs/oversights, such as the inability to archwing blink or select emotes from the gear wheel
There's so very little in the way of QOL upgrades in this game's history, and it's even more astounding when you realize all the time they've spent NOT improving things was also time they spent NOT upgrading them, either

@@clementfermn6711 the amount of work and vocals needed for that is immense to sound as good as it does. This is definitely another TTS. There are quite a few now that sound like this one does. This one as well may be getting use elsewhere as well.
I generally have to problems with de played it with my cousin he said a not so friendly word in chat once they banned him for 13 years and when he tried to get his account back even at a reduced suspension they banned him from the support website and told him his account will be deleted in two weeks I understand the ban he had it coming but 13 years then deleting his account it's ridiculous he spent money and a lot of time all to be lost

Their timing of the EULA update with the sp duviri bug not being fixed even now has got to be doing some serious damage to their game's longevity.. Their attitudes towards forcing people to keep trying the nodes instead of just making them available again until they fix the issue completely baffles me.
To be honest, have loved the game. Having to redo the Duviri content again though has turned me off and I have been playing MSGBO2 in the meantime. Will probably go back to WF, probably...

You have a good point there but I think DE is not that shameful and that would cause a riot and negative PR.
They tried to nerf loot frames and put in a booster to fix it. I'm not sure if that was an old guard decision or if they actually thought that would go over well. IDC honestly, it was a dumb decision but their showing themselves to continue making them.

As someone with experience with FFXIV, I think we should look there for answers.
FFXIV has a very standard, broad TOS on purpose in regards to third party apps. This is on purpose. They can, at their discretion, enforce or not enforce the TOS.
This means that they will enforce TOS for things like berrating players for their dps performance or auto tracker addons which massively solve raid mechanics.
However even for streamers they have not touch chat bubbles ( which jokinly aren't in the game yet) and other visual addons like reshaders.
I believe DE is taking a similar approach, where they have a broad TOS to allow them to act oppose to a specific TOS which will never cover everything and it isn't flexible, and then in a case by case scenario try to do their best judgment forward
Not really a fair comparison, considering Squeenix is a Japanese company while DE is owned by a Chinese company. Entirely different cultures when it comes to enforcement of policies, and I'll let you take a guess which one is _significantly_ less consumer friendly.
I'm gonna say this in a general sense when speaking about most games with third party features that aren't supported by the actual company they're built off of.
I have no sympathy for anyone that uses 3rd party features that goes against ToS. Their huge havens for scams, hacking, baiting and such made by players and there's a reason why companies make it very clear not to use them in their ToS. It's too common in knowledge. Remember, I'm speaking only in a general sense.
Yes, I actually read the ToS every time a new one is released to see what's new. I read about the legal nonsense DE put out and idea feedback to where they're free to use new ideas from the playerbase without notice or rewarding players for the idea. They're also banning VPNs, another feature I never used, but many have to avoid detection from scammers, identifiers and the devs themselves. DE has absolutely lost their minds with these new rules and I hope something is done to make them change their mind on this. I never once used the market website over the past 5 years I've played Warframe, but I will say that DE did a very terrible job with not implementing a market system within their game so yes I can understand why the playerbase made their own. It's been doing fine for all these years without DE cutting in to stop it from what I've seen, that is until the EULA came in recently. I'm gonna watch to see how this goes forward with the game. The plebians in the regional chat do a good job keeping most players informed when they're not embracing full idiocy.

It's basically a modern update, it lets them remove data miners, it creates a defense if they get sued bc of you (which happens all the time), and stops people from posting bugs online and makes it so people send the bugs straight to DE instead.
I believe a lot of people are oversimplifying it or misreading the eula as people believe you will get banned for using a VPN which they said won't happen
the only thing i noticed about aleca is it needs to be loaded FIRST to get your data, if you open it after war is running it cant pick anything, so in theory using the outdated database should be "safe" , but we are never safe with DE and tencent.
I wonder why they dont just hire the people who made the apps to add it legally to the game and call it quits. i think people would pay money to have those feature in game and legally.
People require to be paid for there service now if they made the function i don't know part of prime access or something like that then they most likely would do that but then the community would be pissy over it because mad community that whines about tiny things will find things to whine about.
The VPN is surprisingly understandable, since in Asia server, there are a lot of Chinese players. And they tend to have unstable connection (even if it has low ping).
If any change to the EULA actually puts alleca into danger I'm quitting the game or at least not invest money in it anymore.

As long as it will net a profit, the corporation will do it. The quality of the thing they sell is itrelevant, just that it makes money. Money money.
10 years wasnt a bad run though. And the game will be around for a while still, but definitely wont be the same. It'll fade away, just another shallow, vapid microtransaction infested garbage pile once the corporate types have squeezes every last cent out of whoevers still playing at that point.

The only new thing is if you make a video about a bug and post it on youtube instead of Warframes official form you can get banned. If you use a VPN you won't be able to connect to matchmaking (solo only so no open world spawns/relays/clans/friends). If you break the ToS/EULA and record it and don't get banned straight away and someone sues DE bc of it (which does and can happen) DE will make you responsible for it
Guys, if you uninstall it give the feedback: "Other reasons" then "Updated EULA/ToS of Warframe. I'm scared of getting banned.".

Never used Aleca, and honestly, never intended to try to. "best" has never really been the way I roll anyways. but it sounds to me that aleca gives an edge to those who use it by feeding them real time data without them actually going and learning things themselves, so that in itself should be something to clamp down on...
but really, if you're not doing dodgy things like sharing and abusing "powerful" bugs, using cheats or external apps which speed sell your gear or tell you whats the best in whatever etc and you're just playing the video game, you have nothing to fear from a EULA.

i feel they are more putting all that in the EULA so they have the power to do what they want vs someone that posts a massive exploitive video (i heard of the case of noob?somthing?Tek where he was asked not to publish a bug video for exp and khora dont know all the details has it was a while ago) and not for when a video like maybe lazar mod guides where he might point out the buggs of a weapon hindering its performance (like the zylok incarnon on release and after the "fix" not fixing everything) has its more of a reduction not a gain or a here how its worded so this should work like this not that (synth charge with tenet plinx and epitaph where plinx fulfilled the requirement but was not meant to work with it and the epitaph did not but and worked, both was able to use it and made both weapons incredible and was spread)
i dont/really hope they are never going to do anything to punish the spread of information about these kinds of buggs and are only going to punish the kinds of buggs we see in other games where there are ways to gain infinite premium or even non premium currency out of doing nearly nothing (think games like gta online and there vehicle duplications and infinite money bugs) and prevent death to the economy's like warframe market and trade chat where everyone can get multi millions of endo plat or kuva and keep it on the down low so they dont have to worry about many accounts
(so theoretically maybe a small group of players can do a exploit and then be found out and banned/lose the bugged in currency's before killing the market and its not going to end up being massive to the point of servers relogged into days before or a massive wave of banns to even the accounts that just did it to see has it was a video showing it and it being super easy)

Nope because that would damage the IP you really need to look up legality when it comes to IP ownership and protecting said IP when involving external factors as they would essentially be considered under your employment but not only that possible data leaks and breaching sensitive information due to for such apps to function it would need information that is before it is even revealed to the general public.

Exposing bugs so they can be fixed seems like how it should be done. So what if its exploited for a short period of time. As long as its taken care of it doesn't matter much. And if isn't shown, it can be swept under the rug and players knowing about it can continue to exploit. Just alot of iffy stuff in the language. Does the player council still even exist? Seems if so, perhaps these are all questions they could ask for clarification on. Or if there is a place where content creators can collaborate, perhaps they can ask. I am pretty out of touch with the inner workings of things and have been for a long time. As I generally just play in bursts, go away for a while, repeat. Warframe has generally been pretty up front and fair, more good than bad in my experience. Especially compared to other game developers I've dealt with in the past. But things change. Is this DE or their overlords doing this stuff, don't know. While I don't see it going to the levels of the Nintendo Gestapo, better safe than sorry until its cleared up, especially for content creators.
